I live right across from them and wanted to support. DEFINITELY NOT COMING BACK. The lady seem unfriendly and a bit racist if you're Asian and also said price is $4.00 for 1 birria taco not $3.50 like their menu sign... soo... maybe change your menu prices? I paid cash too so doesn't make sense to tax me either

I got a craving for tacos, so I decided to try them out. They've been on my list to check out. They have a short menu and a decent selection of meat to choose from. I ordered the pork pastor mulitas, chicken taco, and carne asada taco. It took about 10-15 minutes to get my order. I hung out at their little seating area while I waited. The mulitas is $6 and a taco is $3.50. I liked the pastor meat the best. It had good flavor, and the meat was tender. The chicken and asada were so dry and lacked flavor. The salsas, except for the avocado salsa, were all soooo spicy. I'm glad I was able to tolerate the avocado one at least. I'll come back for their pastor. Staff is really friendly too. Only 2 ppl working when I went - one to take orders, the other to cook.

Carne Asada Tacos (2) Got a bonus tortilla and beans one which was just ok.

Quick bite to eat and ordered 2 carne asada tacos. Made to order and fresh and the service is so friendly. I heard folks asking for the orange sauce which was ok. I should have asked for the red and green to try too but felt bad seeing I only had 2 tacos. Will surely come back and try a burrito or quesadilla!

Friendly neighborhood spot with reasonable prices considering you get a lot of food! Have had both the tacos and quesadillas and they are both amazing. The people that own it are friendly and kind and are happy to answer any questions that you have. We live nearby and frequent this place often!

The food is always delicious and the staff are super nice, we come here everyday. Nice outside environment too.

4.5 stars tacos. This food truck is right new to my place, on the parking lot of the Liquor Bin and Pizza Hut (on Cherry). I recently added Rico's on Yelp as he really deserves to be known! Some of my favorite street tacos are served here. Rico will also accommodate his tacos to your taste as best as he can. Carnitas, lengua and chorizo are my favorites. At 2$ a piece you get tasty, flavorful tacos with complimentary beans on a hard tortilla. The truck is very clean. Features a bunch of tasty spicy sauces. You can get complimentary grilled Jalapenos if you ask. If you are super hungry, don't forget to try to 2$ plain cheese quesadilla. You can even grab a drink from the liquor store near by and enjoy while having your favorite Taco! Great food for late night craving, friendly service at great prices.

It's a taco truck. I realized too late they wanted a silly high price for a burrito and it was pretty bland. I think like 12 bucks if I'm not mistaken.

He's still here and not closed. Dunno why Yelp says it's closed

I could eat there every day. They are fast and very courteous. A mom and pop shop. Outdoor eats or your car. Always busy but worth the wait.

Whenever I'd hear about a food truck back in the day, the first thing that would come to mind is prepackaged food. However, those days are long gone! These food trucks are now capable of whipping up gourmet meals that could potentially rival any local sit down restaurant. At this particular location, the trucks only come out on Friday night, with 9-11 different trucks to choose from. They also provide live music and fun games for the family. They do provide 5 gallon buckets that are used for seats, and a couple of planks/boards that can be used as tables while you are scarfing down your food. Some folks just bring their own chairs, as those buckets eventually make your ass pretty sore. These are the trucks that will be here on Friday 10/30/15 333 Truck Chairman Truck Fairycakes Gold Rush Eatery Oh Miso Hungry Sam's Chowdermobile Sanguchon Treatbot Waffle Amore As you can see, it is pretty diverse. Conclusion: Who wants to keep track of where a certain food truck is going to be next week at 11:30 AM on Wednesday? Show up on a Friday night and you can treat yourself to about 10 trucks at once. It doesn't get any better than that. ***Minus 1 Star for some of the ridiculous prices***

Today, I decided to order the Chicken Fajitas, and it completely exceeded my expectations. Without a doubt, it was the most delicious fajitas dish I have ever had. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the vegetables were cooked just right, and all the flavors came together beautifully. Everything was cooked to perfection. The portion size was very generous, and the sides were fantastic. The guacamole, sour cream, Spanish rice, and black beans were all fresh, flavorful, and complemented the meal perfectly. I've always enjoyed the food here, but from now on the Chicken Fajitas will definitely be my regular order. Well-deserved 5 stars. Thank you, El Halal Amigos!

This was my very first visit to El Halal Mexican Restaurant in the heart of downtown Willow Glen,…read moreand I've been wanting to stop by for a while. I finally decided to give it a try after hearing about the restaurant from food reviewer Dave fiore text. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. Sometimes a restaurant's best dish isn't the first thing you order, and I'd be interested in seeing what else they have to offer. Overall, I'd give El Halal Mexican Restaurant a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good experience, I'm happy I finally got to try it, and if you're in the Willow Glen area, it's worth stopping by and deciding for yourself.

It was pretty calm during the day and didn't seem to get a crazy amount of foot traffic, which I actually enjoyed because we were able to sit down, relax, eat, and enjoy the atmosphere without it feeling crowded. Between our food and drinks we spent around $46, so I would say it's moderately pricey, but everything we had was good. I had a birria taco from Mi Lindo Apatzingán, my husband got four tacos, and we also got rice and beans that we really enjoyed. Our food came out pretty quickly, definitely in less than 10 minutes. We also got sour apple drinks from Las Cherry's. The drinks took a little longer, over 10 minutes, but there was only one girl working at the time, so it was completely understandable. The drinks were refreshing and I definitely want to come back and try more of what Las Cherry's has to offer. I really like the whole concept here because there are so many different food trucks in one place. There's plenty of covered outdoor seating, TVs to watch while you eat, and colorful decorations that make it a fun but still calm and chill place to hang out. Even with some of the trucks being closed, there were still plenty of options. I would definitely come back, especially to try more from Las Cherry's and the potato food truck that caught my eye!
