The portion size was very generous, and the sides were fantastic. The guacamole, sour cream, Spanish rice, and black beans were all fresh, flavorful, and complemented the meal perfectly. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. It's clean and has a lot more space than the truck. Food might take longer because of the demanding service. Fried chicken is always consistent and leaves little room for improvement. This is always going to be a daily for me and I will continue to forever attend this place when I'm craving fried chicken.

After Gavin was out of the recovery room and back to his room, it was after 5PM, so I went downstairs to get something to eat. I ordered a banh mi chay, an order of mozzarella cheese sticks, and a bag of shrimp chips. I didn't wait long for my order and was glad that they accept cards. I really like the whole concept here because there are so many different food trucks in one place. Sometimes they provide green tomatillo sauce on top of the traditional orange sauce, which is great for cutting through the grease and cheese as it's tangy and sweet. We tried the Magnolia Chop for the first time and while this was great too, the hot link makes everything slightly saltier than I'm used to and is much more heavy and filling. I'll stick with the cheesesteak or chop cheese next time but will try more of their menu items going forward. Food arrives quickly even during the crowds and long lines at the night market. I've never waited more than 35 minutes combined for both the line to order and being called for our number to pick up our food.

For the quality and generosity you get, these are well worth the price (Crab - $10, Vampiro - $8), and I was quite full after these two. Very fast service too, even during busy afternoons.
