I had the pleasure of trying this most unique restaurant. Located in downtown crown point, they serve up an overstuffed, Americanized form of tacos you will ever find. If you are looking for traditional tacos this will not be the place for you. My husband and I tried three of their tacos and my favorite was the surf and turf. The surf and turf came recommend by our server who knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The ambiance was very much a hipster city vibe and we over all loved our experience here. For desert we got the churros and Oh MY GOD...if you don't get anything here come for these!!! You get the options of dipping sauce: Oreo whipped cream, fruity pebbles and dulce de leche...which is what we got. This was one of the best desserts I think I have had anywhere! I took my daughter there on Monday afternoon around 4pm for her birthday and we had the best lunch. The staff were kind and attentive and the menu was very creative. We started with the salsa, guacamole & chips which were good. I had the Surf Ninja Taco and my daughter had a Taters Gonna Tate Taco. The Surf Ninja Taco was delicious from the first bit to the last. My daughter enjoyed her choice as well. For dessert we had the chocolate filled Churros that came with Oreo whipped cream and they were the best I've ever had! Ricochet Tacos is a trendy spot in the Crown Point Square. They have a lot of really interesting tacos with unique flavor combinations. My favorite that I tried was the monthly special: The Gravitron. Fried cheese curds are not something you would normally find in a taco, but it fits well. I have been here many times, but decided to leave a review finally. There are some tacos that are my favorite so I typically order those. My husband will order the tackle of the month many times and he's always pleased. Whenever I go, I typically order about two tacos, they are huge! You can ask to omit things from the taco or you can ask for sauces on the side if you're not sure if they will be good on your taco. The staff is very friendly, and a lot of fun. We've always gotten along real well with our waiter or waitress, and have had a good time while we were there. I have had several of the alcoholic beverages there, and they are delicious. I can't remember the name of the one that I usually get but it's something with blood orange. Their chips and salsa are not free, you do have to pay for them, but they do give you a lot. I really enjoy the guacamole but they do put some stuff on top of the guacamole that I'm not really fond of so I just ask them not to put it on there. The tacos like I said are not cheap and by the time you add alcohol, your bill can be hefty. If you are looking for inexpensive tacos, there's always a Taco Bell. I have never had an issue with any of the tacos I've had and I've gone there many times. I have heard some people complain about their food in the past, but every time we go there we have never had issues. It can get loud in there and keep in mind that there are many people that bring their children and allow their children to run all over the place. There has not been a time that I've gone into the restaurant and not seeing children flying all over. Typically, I'm just nervous about that because I don't want them getting hurt or running into a waiter/waitress with a platter of food. read more

What a restaurant! We were antiquing in town and walked past this little restaurant while shopping and decided to stop before leaving town and heading back to Illinois. This is somewhere that will cause us to make a special trip back to Crown Point! Our server was amazing - attentive, offered suggestions (my spicy pineapple margarita was CRAZY good), and was upbeat and friendly. The food... the food was spectacular. Sure you pay for chips and salsa, but the chips were perfectly salted, and unsalted chips a a huge pet peeve of mine. The salsas were both great and there was plenty for the cost. We ordered two orders of guacamole because we liked the first very much. We ordered tacos - specialty for mom and me (one each) and two traditional with cilantro and onions for my husband. Everything was prepared with care, and we didn't feel rushed (drop off appetizers, three minutes later shove the entree at you). I was not a fan of Ricochet Tacos. I had high hopes going in and I had heard that it was a pretty good taco place. It is just so unbelievably expensive. $6-$7 per taco? $7 for an order of chips and salsa? Granted, the tacos are decently sized, but the price is still unjustifiable to me. Additionally, the service was pretty bad. Our waitress wasn't particularly attentive; she only came to the table three times. We actually had to ask a different waitress for our check after being finished eating and waiting for 15 minutes. The cherry on top was that our tacos came to us ice cold. Upon paying $6 for 1 taco, one would expect to receive a hot (or at least warm) taco. In general, it was just a disappointing experience. If you're into fusion foods and/or modern remixes on classic dishes, it may be worth a shot. But I will never go back here. I would rather pay $12 for a taco dinner at an authentic Mexican restaurant than pay $34 for 4 cold tacos and chips and salsa. read more

Seriously good tacos, but at $6 a pop, it's a bit steep. I will say, these are your 10" tortillas and they are loaded with meat and flavor. We enjoyed the No Country for old men, Surf Ninja, and found the California Love okay. However, the real star is the Handlebar with tender steak. Only complaint is they were both luke-cold by the time they reached my table, hence fours stars and not five. I wish I could afford to eat here again. $7 per taco is crazy. I have two teenage boys. We stopped in to have lunch wanting to try a place we've never been. The service was good. The atmosphere was nice. But athletic boys eat a lot and they each had three tacos. That's $42 for 6 tacos!!! Not including chips and salsa for an appetizer and soda to drink. They probably could have eaten more. I left there hungry since I didn't realize the cost before we went. I ordered one taco for myself and had water to drink. We can never eat here again but I would love to be able to as I wanted to eat other menu items. A $75 lunch bill (after tip) and still being hungry is just ridiculous. read more
