Beware of price gouging. My father was in a wreck and taken by ambulance to the hospital. The police called this tow company for him. Because he was injured and had to deal with medications and another vehicle the next day, he couldn't get to the tow yard until the following day. I live out of town, so I called and offered to pay over the phone to get his truck released so storage fees wouldn't keep adding up. They refused and insisted he had to come in person to sign. By the time we were able to pay, they charged $625 for a 3-mile tow and one day of storage, plus another $111 to move the truck to another location, bringing the total to over $730 for about 10 miles of towing. My father lives on Social Security and had just been in an accident. We hoped they would show a little understanding, but they did not. In my opinion, these charges were excessive. read more

As a member of AAA, I requested a tow of 3.4 miles to a repair shop. I was contacted by Ricky's Towing and told that due to inclement weather, they would charge me $100 surcharge, so instead we set an appointment for noon the next day, hoping the weather would clear. I called AAA that evening and asked about the surcharge and was told I wouldn't have to pay it. Dispatch woman called the next day to confirm the tow and I was once again told they would charge me $100 surcharge. When I told her that AAA told me I wouldn't have to pay it, she said, "AAA doesn't tell me what to do". This is true. However, I called AAA and complained and asked for a different provider. Tic Tac Towing showed up, was friendly and professional and did NOT charge a surcharge. I highly suggest that if you have AAA, you request ANYONE other than Ricky's Towing. read more

My daughter was stuck in flood waters last night where the vehicle was floating and half full of water. APD dispatched this company to recover the vehicle. This ridiculous place now wants, 12 hours later, almost $700 for us to get our vehicle back. Zero compassion with this place. Be warned for anyone dealing with flood waters and this company. They said since it was impounded by police it is $673. We have 45 days to come up with the money AND figure out how to get it home at an additional charge of $22.85 per day. Where do I even begin. Through our apartment they have a contract with Ricky's towing and we have to have a parking pass to park in our lot. Our apartment manager has stated to just have it on the dash or taped to the windshield because the actual sticker itself, once on the windshield, won't come off and we would rather not ruin our windshield. Even though my roommate and I had our passes visible and in sight of the windshield and they STILL TOWED US. Once contacting the towing company, they said we had to come get our vehicles even tho it was THEIR mess up. They were rude on the phone and when we got our vehicles an older man, we assume the owner, showed up and when I pulled out of the parking lot my tires spinned on the gravel by accident, he then stopped me and threatened that everything was on video and if I did that again he would call the cops. They were not helpful, rude, and apparently blind since they couldn't see the clearly visible parking sticker. I understand I have a pretty large truck on a 7 inch lift but you should still inspect and ACTUALLY LOOK for the sticker before deciding to take it! My roommate's truck is just its stock height and somehow didn't see hers either? They also never apologized on their behalf for being in the wrong. Surprised there was no damage or anything stolen since half the reviews on here has something regarding that. Do better and maybe get some glasses for your tow truck drivers. read more

My truck was towed from my apartment complex for "double parking" after I got home from work and parked in the only available parking spot. When I arrived to pick up my truck from Ricky's Towing, the hood was open... I was informed that my battery was taken out of my truck to jump-start other cars in the lot. Mind you, these are batteries from a 1996 diesel truck in the middle of the winter during a week where it got to negative temperatures. The guy that took me back to my truck let me know that they hired a contracted worker and he had already been sent home. He made a call and another guy showed up in a side by side with a trailer full of batteries. They put my battery back in my truck and asked me to start it. When I got in the truck to start it, I noticed the passenger seat was moved forward and the glove compartment was open and all the paperwork inside with my personal information was missing. When I walked around to the passenger side, I noticed all the contents from behind my passenger seat were also missing. All of my coolants and fluids and degreasers etc. were all taken as well as my jumper cables and my tripod I use to film and placed in a bag that I use for my job to pick up lunch orders. The bag was on the back of their trailer which luckily I saw because otherwise I would've left without all of my belongings. When I drove around front and tried to request a refund with the person who drove me to pick up my truck, they basically told us to go f ourselves. I then informed my mom of the situation since the vehicle is in their name and Ricky, the owner, called her a b**** and told her to sue. Completely unprofessional and trash company. If at all possible avoid doing business with these people for your own safety. Not only do they not know what "double parking" means, they will tow away your vehicle for simply having a tire on or over the yellow line even there is not another parking spot on the other side of said line. The best part: when I walked out to the lot after paying the fine to get my vehicle the lot guy rolled up on me with a huge german shepherd and got in my face and told me he was gonna beat my ass because I was "rude." The chainlink gate with razor wire was closed behind me at this point and I had no way to escape. Not that I could outrun the dog anyway. He then demanded I get in the ATV with him to go to my vehicle which I declined for my own safety. I told him I could see my vehicle and would walk to it. He called me a pussy for opting to walk. He stayed with me on the ATV and started berating me for walking too slow then hopped off again and told me if I didnt walk faster he was going to beat my ass. Dog still with him. Once we got to my car he again threatened to beat me. I got in my vehicle and left. This place is an absolute din of snakes who should not be allowed to operate a business and cannot be trusted. If they take your vehicle I would recommend calling the police to escort you once you get there. At the very least do not go alone. These people are dangerous. read more

I wanted to give this place five stars because once they got here the driver, I think his name was Joseph, did a great job and was very friendly and helpful. My car was jump started in probably less than 5 minutes after he arrived. The only reason for knocking off one star was that it took him a full hour to get here. Having nothing to do with this tow company, I wish AAA had someone a little closer to call on because I was at the other end of town at Bell and I-40. But I'm not knocking this company because they aren't closer, that's not their fault. The main thing is he got me started but the fact that it took an hour to get here made me late for my appointment. I thought calling 45 minutes before I needed to be there would be enough time but I was wrong. I was basing my expectation on the fact that I've needed to use AAA about three times in the past 4 years and each time they only took 15 to 20 minutes to get here. Otherwise, I can highly recommend the service if you need a jump start or a change of tire or whatever. I would not hesitate to call upon them again, maybe just give myself more time in case it took them that long to arrive again. read more

My wife and I were in the process of towing a trailer in our daughter's vehicle from Chicago to Albuquerque when we broke down on the side of I-40. AAA sent us Ricky's Towing and I want to say that Patrick came and helped us out. Got our car to the auto shop and, our trailer, our dogs, and us to safety at a hotel. I got caught in a hailstorm outside of Stratford, and my car swerved off the shoulder and ended up stuck in the mud. I called AAA, and they called Ricky's Towing. The lady from Ricky's Towing who called me was super kind and helpful. While I was on the phone with her in my car, some strangers approached me so she stayed on the phone while I talked to them to make sure I would be okay. Luckily, they were kind folks who were offering help to motorists caught in the storm and gave me a ride to the Pilot Travel Center in town so that I could wait for the tow truck there. Amarillo is about an hour and a half from Stratford so it was a long wait for the tow truck, but the wait was as short as it could have been. If I could give this business a bajillion stars, I would. My partner and I were stranded in the middle of nowhere late at night the other night due to the fact that our transmission literally freaking exploded. The Sheriff's Department deployed Rocky's Towing to us and a man named Joe came and got us. He was friendly, efficient, professional, and incredibly kind. The people in the office were professional and sympathetic to our situation, particularly this woman name Katrina. She was so helpful and friendly to us, and then there is Thor, the company's gorgeous and sweet German Shepherd who guards the parameters. It was such a sucky and crappy situation, but these folks know what they are doing- they take care of so much difficult stuff and people dealing with the most stressful type of situations, but their professionalism, efficiency, and kindness makes it so much less painful. Paid high price, but o.k. - the entire trip from yard back to yard in less than an hour. After pulling me out, the man who took me to the site to meet Rickey's became slightly stuck... right in line and a 5 minute winch. - Another $175.00 the driver apologized as "Company Rules". I protested this unfair and ridiculous charge, through the "Dispatcher" - who gave me the same ridiculous statement about "Company Rules" (My God, 5 minutes... no drive from town... etc.) - well, when a Company has gotten so big that problems cannot be brought forth to a decision maker in order to inject some logic in the matter..... that Company has become too large and important for me to use in the future... I hope this is the right company. There are two listed. Jeremy helped me out today and he was amazing. He even arrived before the estimated time and called me when he was 10 minutes away. My car's battery was dead dead dead and Jeremy came out to tow it to the dealership. He immediately knew what the problem was and tried to fix it but my battery needed more power (verified by dealership later-they needed two machines to charge it up). Since my battery was dead my car also wouldn't shift gears but Jeremy used some miracle tool (and experience lol) to somehow get my car on his tow truck in the middle of a busy Walmart parking lot. Called sunday evening ( July 19) to get my car towed, was quoted at around $245, the girl that quoted me that price said that it would be give or take around that price. I agreed, then when the car was at the agreed destination, she called me and said that she quoted me wrong, that the price was $590. I had no choice but to pay it. This is a racket run by crooks and backed by legislature. My car was stolen and I was informed a week later that I could pick it up from ricky's for a ridiculous fee. Took me a few days, with additional charges, of course, which took every penny I had, only to find the vehicle undrivable. At no time was I given this information. And of course the fee was non refundable. So I had to leave it and make arrangements to either have it towed asap, fees still accumulating, or have it become their property. With no more funds, that limited my options. This is how his business grew so rapidly. By cheating uninformed victims with over-inflated fees and taking possession of their inaccessible vehicles.
