I stopped at this Rich's Bagels after kick boxing class today to get a small bite to eat. I ordered a single cinnamon rasin bagel with plain cream cheese and an orange juice. I was disappointed that they didn't offer any fresh squeezed juice so I settled for Minute Maid. The bagel with cream cheese was over $2.50 and with the orange juice my bill was almost $6! I realize bagel places have gotten more expensive, just like most other restaurants, but that price seemed ridiculous to me. In fact, everything on the menu was expensive! To add further insult to injury the bagel wasn't very good. First of all the bagel was very small, especially when compared to the rather large bagels at Einstein's--yeah I know that Einstein's bagels are steamed and not boiled, so they aren't real bagels, but whatever, the bagels at Rich's could stand for some improvement. Now I would be remiss to mention that today was not my first experience at Rich's Bagels. I've also eaten at the Rich's in Holladay several times. After picking up something from this Rich's today I remembered why I didn't like Rich's and had stopped going there. The one redeeming quality of Rich's was the cute and very personable girl who took my order. She was great and definitely deserved a gold star for excellent customer service. It's just too bad she couldn't be serving some better bagels. ;P read more

These bagels are perfect. Smaller than average, with a glossy exterior, and a dense, chewy but so soft interior. The cream cheese options and bagel options leave nothing else to be desired. Service is prompt. Even though this place gets busy, I feel confident about getting in and out with a bakers dozen in under a few minutes. Try the sunflower bagel and the onion dill! My favorite cream cheese is their scallion herb. Lots of sweet options as well if you prefer a sweet bagel. I'll definitely be back to pick up bagels anytime I'm in the area, or try out a sandwich or their coffee (from local Millcreek Roasters). read more

BEST BAGELS EVER! I have been going to Rich's since I was a kid and their Asiago bagel has never changed, which is a great thing! I came to this location at 6:30 am yesterday, 3/2/2018, to pick up 8 dozen bagels for my work's employee appreciation day. There were 2 people working. My order wasn't ready because one of their equipment was down. However, she proceeded to get the bagels together and even offered suggestions. I didn't catch her name but I'd like to thank her for that interaction especially so early in the morning. My co-workers raved about the bagels. Welcoming. Not a word I would use to describe this place. Accommodating. Another word I would not apply. Granted, it was a Saturday afternoon and they closed at 3, but I called in an order for a breakfast bagel 25 minute prior to closing trying to do them a favor, and the voice on the other end could not have sounded more perturbed. So you can imagine their further annoyance when I added a toasted plain bagel with cream cheese once I arrived. But mind you, there was still 15 minutes left. I didn't feel welcome there, so I left the restaurant with my order and sat in the parking lot just outside their front door in my car and ate my mediocre bagel sandwich that I had heard so many great things about. First of all, the bagel was massive and awkward but not cut in half. Why wouldn't they cut it in half? Had I eaten my bagel there, I probably could have cut it in half myself with a plastic knife. Second, the egg was scrambled. Perhaps I didn't look at enough pictures but I was anticipating a fried whole egg. Third, the bagel was delicious and it tasted great toasted but overall, the sandwich lacked salt and pepper, again, had I felt welcomed, I would have added while sitting in the restaurant. This restaurant with a great reputation is doing itself a disservice. While sitting in my car, eating my bagel sandwich, two customers approached the door which, at 8 minutes to closing, had been locked and the sign turned off. This tells me, among everything else, they just don't care. It's a total shame because they have awesome bagels! read more

If you're not a regular, expect poor customer service. I gave these guys several chances last year, went every morning at the exact same time & ordered the exact same thing for weeks. I still never fell into that 'we're happy to see you crowd', so I stopped going. I thought I'd give them one more chance & found that things still haven't changed. They act as if you're some sort of burden - short & snappy when they took my order, and then instead of bringing it to me - tossed it on the counter when it was done & said "there's your stuff". Even if you can get past the customer service, the bagels are sub-par, Schmidt's Pastry right across the street has better bagels. read more

First time for us, when we walked in there was 2 workers filling orders for the 3 group ahead of us. No signs to state where to order, so we sat back to wait for a server to get open. They looked busy. Another server walked in and emptied the garbage first when it was obvious the other workers are busy and people waiting. I have many years of restaurant experience and customers always come first not emptying the garbage. The worker who addressed the garbage first finally finished and waged her hands. N the mean time a group of customers came in and I stood up to the counter. It was very obvious that the this customer was a regular. She stuck a conversation with him and asked what he needed. That is when I interjected and stated we have been waiting 10 minutes. This customer was very rude accusing us of lying and not being in line. It was our first time to ur establishment! Ahh...the scent of Rich's Asiago Cheese Bagel takes me back to my high school days. These things are devilishly good....be sure to toast them, and add cream cheese or hummus. Pure heaven. Rich's has a fantastic array of bagels and cream cheese, and they also served soups and salads at lunch. Coffee is decent, and the atmosphere is quite nice. They really do need to make 1/2 stars on this site, but my pet peeves aside..... Rich's is a wonderful bagel place. Probably one of the best in the SLC area. The fact that they even offer hummus is validation for their superior establishment. Sadly their location is fairly crappy because they are off a small road with lots of traffic. The service here is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful and patient. The food is just okay. I've tried their egg salad bagel sandwich twice and the first time it was phenomenal. The second time it tasted really, really rotten. I scraped all the egg salad off my bagel and just ate it plain. But it was bad. It's a little out of the way for me, but sometimes we get stuck over by ShopKo and find ourselves starving (and by we I mean me and my 4 year old.) So we go to Rich's Bagels. And it's okay. I met a dear friend here for lunch and was really excited because I had never been before! I was pleasantly surprised by the interior of the restaurant. My family has been coming here since before I can remember. Rich's bagels has become part of our holiday traditions. Their best item? Asiago Cheese Bagel. Hands down. As you eat your way to the center of the bagel you are thinking 'Hmmm, this is good!', but as you take your first bite into the cheesy center of the bagel hole you are transported to an entire other dimension. The asiago bagel is literally the best I have ever had. They also make an asiago jalapeño, another personal fav. Locally owned is always a plus in my book. I frequent this place for breakfast and lunch. They serve a house pasta salad that is so simple and amazing. The staff can be hit or miss, but the owner is an absolute sweetheart! The sandwiches can be on the heavier side. I tend to ask for less toppings, something to be aware of. You cannot go wrong with fresh baked bagels and this place is no exception. This review is for their breakfast bagel sandwich. I ordered the bacon, cheese & egg with a whole wheat bagel. It turned out to be a big disappointment, especially when with tax it was over $7 & for a few more bucks I could have bacon, eggs, hashbrowns & pancakes at the original pancake house. They asked if I wanted hot sauce, I said no but it showed up on it anyway. The bacon was the limpy pre-cooked kind you buy in the grocery store. Bagel was good but I wouldn't go back for breakfast. They are the only local bagel shop in the area, so for that, you gotta love 'em. However, I ate here once only, thus far, and am hesitant to go again. The bagels were fairly small and the staff seemed very confused when ordering eggs and cheese on bagel, they ended up overcharging us by about $6 and since the girl working appeared to only be 14, she was unable to sort out the issues and price discrepancy, even though she rang us up. About 10 minutes after we ordered, a young boy came up and asked us what we ordered, as if there was no record of it in existence.
