Well this is a gem of a restaurant in the city of Rochester!!!! I just left La Bola with my family…read morecelebrating my nieces graduation and I cannot praise this place enough. From our hostess Jenna being so kind and accommodating to the table placement and the food was lick your fingers clean. The beautifully decorated seating area and bar is very inviting. We had the shrimp scampi, lamb kabobs Focaccia and basmati rice. We ordered a second Focaccia cause it was damn good the first time. All cooked to perfection. Well seasoned and the perfect portion size. If I'm ever in Rochester again I'll be back. Our thanks to the chef..... just delicious.

The ambience was more like an open food hall meets bar venue but somehow it didn't click with me. We were the only other occupied table for a weekday dinner. Service was prompt but that's probably the only good thing. I got a mocktail which was watery and patatas bravas for appetizer. It was good but a bit saltier for my palate. I got the duck confit which was deplorable. The duck leg was scaly and dry and the sauce and the cauliflower didn't make up for it. My friend got the house burger and she said she liked it. I'm glad we didn't order dessert, it may have been another disappointment. Overall, a meh experience.

3 Latino seems to be a place that neighborhood locals or Dominicans are aware of, but after tasting…read moretheir food, they're worthy of receiving a much broader audience. This small mom and pop restaurant is hidden in the corner of Palm St. next to a barbershop across from the Kodak building. There's few parking spots in the front of the entrance so it's mostly street parking. When I walked in, the bar is in the front and the dining area and buffet counter are in the back. They also offer menu items and cater as well. I wanted take out so I opted for their large plate. It was packed full for a small cost of less than $8. Their buffet selection consists of about six meat options like stew chicken, baked chicken and beef and the plates come with the standard white or yellow rice and beans. The stew chicken was tasty and so tender it glided off the bone. The fluffy yellow rice was mildly seasoned but the flavor comes from the red beans poured on top (or on the side). Definitely a new spot I will go back to and looking forward to checking out their menu items!

You wouldn't want to eat off the floor in this place, let's just leave it at that. Very low end…read moreshoestring operation, with several generations in the kitchen. We stuck to slow cooked beef and pork dishes with yellow rice and beans which were already made and sitting in warmers. They made up some fried plantains while we waited. Pretty generous portions, and food was pretty tasty, but we were a little skived by state of place, not the cleanest. Has a bar and dining room, but pretty much zero atmosphere, so get it to go is my advice. And for significantly less than $20, you get a ton of food to take home for your Netflix and Chill. It's not high end, but it's home cooked by genuine Latinos, and that's what you came for right? To get your pork and rice and beans on. Give it a try.
