It's giving someone might be making a pot of fresh collards in the back :). The office feels like your oldest aunties house, which I love. Some may say it's dated, but I disagree. It's one of those feelings where you're like this place has GOOD BONES. More importantly, if it ain't broke don't fix it. When you walk in you're greeted by the receptionist (his wife I think). She gets you checked in and you wait in the "front parlor", for them to call you back. When I was taken back to the office, I was reminded why I love coming here. The huge eye machine they use is my favorite color pink and it takes me to a place of shiny and new COULD NEVER!! Dr. Tiwari is a great listener. I never feel as if he's rushing, he takes his time to converse with you and go over your exam thoroughly. We always have wonderful conversations, and I feel comfortable asking him anything. I def recommend and will continue to go back. PS they do have a 2nd location in Petersburg. PPS -- you know I couldn't leave a review without letting y'all know: The bathroom is clean and smells fine! You certainly can use the bathroom at this establishment -- and parking is in the back :)

It's always very easy to schedule appointments and you can literally take a visit on a lunch break, as she is efficient and honors appointment times. So much respect for doctors and practices that try their best to stay on time and respect your time as well. All of the staff are friendly, they do a great job explaining what to expect, and it's no frills billing that you pay during your appointment time. Aside from my routine eye exams, Dr. Fripps has excellent chair side manner and holds space for you to address any questions or concerns you may have with your eyes. Then not only does she make recommendations, but also tries to give 2-3 recommendations in varying price points and locations (online vs retail) for whatever budget you may be hoping to stay within. This is one of those places you almost wish you visit more than once a year or so, but it's a welcoming practice and she remembers little details about you even though visits are infrequent. Highly recommend!

On the flip side, I'm not sure why businesses have an email form when there doesn't appear to be a willingness to respond to submitted emails. I submitted a question by email and have allowed two business days to go by. No response. It's not always easy for me to call during normal business hours, so I had thought the email using their own form online would be a good solution.

I've loved being a patient at Grove Eye Care. You know how everyone has a doctor visit they're kind…read moreof afraid of? Eye doctors used to be that for me, but after my experience with Grove Eye Care, I feel much more confident and relaxed. I had my first visit back in 2023. I was looking to start wearing contacts and to get a new glasses prescription. Booking an appointment was easy. My first visit is a bit of a blur since it's been over a year, but I did have main takeaways. Whoever it was that guided me in how to put on contacts was the kindest and most encouraging person I've met. In my experience, a lot of eye doctor visits have involved inpatient people (I can understand because I would feel inpatient hearing the same six letters over and over again). I did not feel this way with my contact teacher. She was there to support me and made me feel welcome. I highly recommend getting contacts here. The contact experience involves getting the right prescription for you with a doctor, learning how to put them on, getting trials for a week, then returning to see if you'd like to order them. I have VSP which helped with the cost and have enjoyed the Bausch and Lomb Infuse 1-Day contacts. As for eye exams themselves, on an annual check-up this week, I did have a more impatient examiner, who didn't really explain all the machines to me which I didn't mind as much because I felt more confident, but had wished she told me when bright lights were flashing. They have a machine you can pay extra for so you don't need to get your eyes dilated which is nice. My first examiner in 2023 did explain everything. I think you just need to ask. My doctor is Dr. Schwartz. She helped me with my contact journey as well as treating headaches and dry eyes. She's very direct and to the point and can answer any questions you may have. I've enjoyed having her as my doctor. During my visit this week, I explored possibly purchasing new glasses/lenses at the shop section. It was a bit out of my price range, but do know you can get your prescription for free and if you need the distance of your eyes it's a $10 charge. If you're feeling uneasy about eye doctors, this is a great place to feel more confident and comfortable with them. The parking is easy here with a lot out front. It's near Carytown. And there is a gender neutral single stall for bathrooms. I highly recommend.

Everyone is so kind here, and my appointments go super quick without feeling rushed. (No waiting on…read morethe doctor for ages!) I appreciate how the doctor shows you the scans of your eyes and explains the different things he's looking for and why. Have been seeing Dr. Levy for years but he recently retired. I have been going to Foreyes for what I thought were reasonably priced glasses ( when you want extra pairs, or have no insurance), however they were starting to get out of control with misinformation and lack of accountability. I had to find another place to go quick pronto, especially since my prescription changed which rendered my other glasses useless!! (Foreyes refused to adjust my prescription, even though it had been a couple of months since my purchase, but I digress) One of my spirit children recommended this place, and I'm very happy with my purchase. The staff was friendly and accommodating, I purchased 2 pairs of lined bifocals for a total of $79 ( they don't accept my insurance, but for the price it was not a deal breaker), my glasses were completed in 45 minutes!!! The best part of everything was that they got my bifocal line perfect!! (Foreyes hasn't mastered this for me). It's extremely important for all aspects of my readers to be on point and they checked of all the boxes. Don't take my word for it, go check them out.

I was trying to stick to a budget and needed progressive no-line bifocals. Angela was not pushy in the least. She did not try to upsell me on add-ons I had no interest in and understood my desire to keep to a budget. I took advantage of the 2 / 199 deal so I could get glasses and sunglasses. Angela was Very friendly and easy-going. We talked about our dogs and cats more than glasses. I have every reason to believe that I will be satisfied with the finished product and if they need tweaking, For Eyes will make it right. MD Winegart was also very expedient and efficient. Even had my records from 6 years ago at hand.

I had one of the most frustrating experiences ever with this store…read more Two months ago, I brought in my own eyeglass frame (barely worn) to have lenses fitted. After waiting more than two weeks with no update, I called to check, and only then did they tell me my glasses were ready. When I picked them up, the prescription was completely wrong, so I had to redo the exam and order again. This second attempt was even worse. After another month of waiting--and multiple calls where the staff gave me confusing or evasive answers--they finally admitted that my glasses had been lost in transit. When I went to the store for a solution, here were my options: 1. Choose a replacement frame. At first, one staff member told me I could pick any frame from the wall. Then another restricted me to only the $129 section, and if I wanted something better, I'd have to pay extra. This made no sense--my original frame was higher quality and definitely not plastic, and it was their fault it got lost. Why should my choice be limited because of their mistake? 2. Request a refund. But not immediately. I'd have to wait until the manager came back from vacation to approve it. And given they already lost my glasses, I had no confidence they wouldn't "lose" the refund check too. The excuse was that it wasn't the store's fault but "the lab's" fault--as if that makes a difference to the customer. 3. Wait for the manager. The staff said they couldn't make decisions without her, and they refused to call her because she was on vacation. A store of this size with no backup system or delegated authority? Completely unprofessional. Bottom line: They took my money upfront, wasted months of my time, lost my property, and then made me wait even longer for a half-baked solution. Customers should not have to sacrifice their time because of the store's mistakes. If you want fast, reliable service, and accountability when things go wrong--this is not the place.
