Yelp really needs to have more than 5 stars for people like Matthew with Free the Bees!…read more I discovered a bee situation in my cinder block wall and by "situation" I mean a full-on thriving metropolis of bees that had apparently decided my wall was prime real estate. I called Matthew at Free the Bees fully expecting the worst, and instead got the best possible outcome short of the bees just... leaving on their own. Matthew came out, cut open the cinder block wall, removed the entire colony, patched everything back up (you can't even tell the wall was cut into), AND relocated the bees to his own property where they are presumably living their absolute best bee lives. He essentially gave my bees a better home than I could. Good for them, honestly. But here's the part that got me: he showed up later with a jar of honey. HONEY from MY bees! I don't know if that's the most wholesome thing that has ever happened to me or if I should be slightly concerned about how quickly I became emotionally invested in a colony of insects I was trying to evict, but either way Matthew made it special. If you have bees and you want them gone but also want them to be okay, Matthew is your guy. Seriously, 12 out of 10. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who finds themselves in an unexpected relationship with a wall full of bees.

My wife and I love animals so we didn't want the bees to be euthanized, we were so exited when we found this company that does not kill the bees. Matt was able to remove and locate the hive for us and he reffered us to a contractor that repaired the drywall. The entire process took three days. Two companies wanted to put a hammer through the stucco on the exterior of the walls, AA-Beekeeper brought proper tools, including a thermal imaging camera to see where the hive was. Sergio opened up a 12" x 18" square in the ceiling and was able to get right where the hive was. He spent hours removing the bees to take with him. There was so much honey! The honey was removed (I kept some as well), drywall was replaced on the ceiling and will require very little repair. I could not recommend this company enough. Such an incredibly nice guy! Ohh... I was also fascinated by the process so he sent me photos while it was going on. (I was not going to "bee" in the room with him)

Had a swarm of bees show up on our front doorstep on April Fool's Day...no joke! We thought that…read morethey were just stopping for a rest when we noticed that the swarm got smaller. Unfortunately, they had found an opening in our outside wall and were starting to take up residence. Though we are bee lovers and absolutely love fresh honey, we knew we couldn't let them stay. So, we started to do some online research and found AA Beekeeper. They had great reviews, so we thought we'd give them a try. We wanted to have the bees removed humanely and relocated. As soon as I called, I was informed that a technician was just finishing up a job in our area and that he could stop over to check out the situation. With a little thermal device and a snake camera device, the technician was able to show me where the bees were. And they were well on their way in constructing a honeycomb. The technician's boss called me and let me know what could be done and then quoted me a VERY reasonable price (which also came with a warranty). They asked if I wanted to think it over or have the technician go ahead and do the work (since it was still daylight out) and we chose the latter. Within a couple of hours, the whole thing was over with. The technician had to cut open part of the stucco to get to the bees, smoke them out, and then vacuum them up to put them into a transport container. He then replaced the part of the stucco and calked around the replaced section with a gray colored calk that was close to the original paint color (I'll be able to easily paint it again to make it match even better). I can't tell you what an extreme pleasure it was to work with them. They did a fantastic job all around! I will of course miss the bees and the potential honey harvest we could have reaped... but, I think it was probably for the best! I hope they enjoy their new home!

He explained that there would be a setup fee and a daily charge for a vacuum system that would safely remove the bees alive and relocate them without harming them. I liked the idea of preserving the bees, so I felt that paying a little extra would be worthwhile. The bees were entering and exiting through a small hole in the property. Arthur told me there would be a setup fee of $350 and a daily charge of $85. I explained that the cost was more than I could afford, and he said he would try to help me out by reducing the fee. He also told me that the machine would be running 24 hours a day. Arthur came to the property on Friday evening, set up the machine, and returned on Tuesday morning to remove it. However, the machine only operated approximately 12 hours per day, not 24 hours as represented. Despite this, he charged me for full days from Friday through Tuesday. When I questioned the charges, Arthur became very hostile and said, "Fine, I will go back to the house and put the bees back in there." He then hung up the phone and proceeded to send me a series of alarming text messages. I wish I could attach screenshots of those messages, but I am not sure how to do so. However, I have copied and pasted two of his MANY messages below: "Of course it's not gonna be running for 24 hours a day it runs from sunrise to sunset boy are you confused and as far as me turning over the liability to return those bees you as a landlord are totally responsible and I as a Beekeeper I'm not taking that responsibility back on taking those bees back to your property. Are you crazy? You're just being an emotional. You don't make any sense I can't believe you'd want me to return the bees killer killer African bees to your renters who's gonna ensure me for that and don't be rude with me anymore. You're not gonna get anywhere with that. Nothing stop your madness get your manners back. We tried to reach you several times to talk to you about the project, but you're always just too busy excuse me. You tell him whatever you want I treated you with respect and I've done a good job on your project and I'll stick up for that. No matter what you say. You go ahead and threaten me. That's not gonna get you anywhere with me and get some manners you sound just like a little emotional calm down. It's unbelievable that you do that. Beware!!! Beware!!!!! Please read this before hiring this…read moreman. I got home from work to find out I had a beehive that was swarming. My HOA called Pro Bee. Since he was there I hired him. BIG MISTAKE. He asked for 525 deposit and said it should take 4 to 5 days at 85 dollars a day. He did not add that 525 to his final bill. Just 525 to talk to him. He also charged me 85 more dollars for that day. Why? I'm not sure. He started the vacuum for the bees the next day. He could not get his timers to work so I had to plug and unplug the cord every night. A WEEK IN HE SAID HE NEEDED TO START ANOTHER VACUUM. I said ok He did not tell me he was going to charge me double now. 16 days later he says its sealed. He charged me 600 to fill the hole. He said he didn't need to paint it because the foam would deteriorate and match my house. Did he charge me for a paint job? Yes. HE CHARGED ME 3,700 total!!!!!!!! I told him I disagreed with the bill. Thats when the insults and threats started. He was going to put a lien on my house. He was going to do research on me. I don't know what that means. He texted me he despised me and that i was weak and a coward, He called me a male nurse. I'm not a nurse I think he just thinks that is an insult. PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE HIRING THIS MAN.
