As luck would have it, we caught Pepé Le Pew a couple of days later, and when I texted Natalie's to let them know to pick up my stinky friend, Tiffaney texted back that she was in the hospital giving birth but would get someone over to help. Wow! A couple of hours later a nice young guy came by, whisked my polecat away, and reset the trap. It was a seamless removal and no critters were harmed. A couple of weeks later Tiffaney and Dave returned to pick up the traps with a beautiful BIG baby boy in tow.
