When I hired James's team to remodel the bathroom of my home, I gave them a challenge by choosing…read moremodern style floor tiles that have very sharp edges and corners, which make small protrusions quite noticeable (in comparison, conventional tiles with rounded edges and corners are fairly forgiving, and slight unevenness is not a problem). After James's crew meticulously laid over a hundred floor tiles, I as a picky customer noticed 3 tiles were about 1/32" higher at one corner than the neighboring tiles, and after I pointed it out, James's crew immediately replaced the 3 tiles and achieved evenness to my satisfaction. Since my job is quality control in a factory, I understand the reality of physical operations and the necessity of some rework under challenging circumstances. A first time pass rate of over 97% for this tough job is truly good, and I'm satisfied. About James, he has great expertise in pluming, and is quite easy-going in that he accommodated several special requests without any issues. James is also very knowledgeable about construction materials and has customers' interest in mind when recommending materials and stores. Overall, James did a good job coordinating his team's work and delivered the new bathroom fairly quickly. It has been 5 weeks since the completion, and I waited to write this review to make sure there were no hidden issues. At this point, I'm confident to offer my recommendation of JP Construction, and if there is another remodeling project in my home, I'll hire James's team again.

On my bathroom Mark had to deal with constant delays caused by a Vendor I had bought Solid Surface Porcelain Slabs from for my shower walls before consulting with Mark. That was MY mistake as that Vender caused many delays by being late or not even showing up or bringing the wrong materials, but Mark worked around them. As a person, Roberto is a very friendly guy and a great communicator who made sure to text and/or call me regularly with updates. He was highly communicative the whole project, which I personally prefer, and it went to show how much he wanted to ensure things are done right and to my expectations. This was evident even during the initial onsite inspection, where he patiently spent a full hour with me onsite walking through the details. He was very open and transparent about what he can do, what solutions he offered, what materials are optimal, and what I could expect. It was always very clear what I needed to provide and at what schedule. His quote was very fair, and while I initially thought of using separate contractors, I gave him the bid to manage the whole project. His price was competitive for managing the schedule and the back and forth needed to ensure the work was done at the right cadence. The work schedule was managed tight and completed exactly to our quoted timeline. All of the folks he brought onsite were experienced, organized, and friendly, with different teams scheduled to exchange work days much better than if I had tried to manage the sequence myself. It's clear that Roberto takes great pride in his work from his attention to detail and wanting to do things the right way. Over our ~2-week project, he went above and beyond to make minor repairs and fixes to ensure the end result was stunning. During work, everything was covered neatly and taped neatly. As you can see from the before photos, the house was a bit run down. The oil-finished floors needed both a refinishing and spot repairs of gaps, holes, and water damage, and the final refinish was perfect. The original ceilings had a rolled-on, inconsistent texture with cracks, and Roberto communicated the effort needed to make them smooth. The cost was fair and the ceiling is now essentially perfect. As the house is from the 1920s, some walls still have the original plaster and old world texture which I decided to keep, while rooms with wallpaper were removed, sealed, primed, repaired, and painted. The end result looks fantastic, and as mentioned he went above and beyond doing patching and wall sanding to make it extra perfect, which was greatly appreciated. The trim work was also incredible: all baseboards were installed with care and with sharp corner work, and he flawlessly repaired the crown moulding in the kitchen and office. Overall, I was incredibly impressed. Roberto is a super nice guy who cares to do great work, and he is the first person I'll call for future work on my home.

Steve, the office manager, is on top of everything. Stephen Bass came to our house for the initial meeting. Quotes are clear and easy to understand. Fast response times. We appreciated that Stephen gave us suggestions for paint. We actually gave him a few addresses in our neighborhood where we liked the paint color. Stephen then went to those houses and with a tool, he was able to match similar paint color. Once we narrowed colors (body, trim), Stephen ordered samples and painted swatches on our house. Everyone on his team who came worked well. Caulking the windows, power washing, painting. After painting, the head of the paint team noticed some wood rotting during his inspection. Stephen and his construction team replaced the wood and repainted as needed. Stephen's team also ordered exterior doors for us including the locks needed. I gave Walter a photo of what I wanted with a description and he killed it (down to the handle design and rail color). After getting our quote, he came to take measurements and a 50% deposit (the remaining due after installation). We were quoted a 4-6 week lead time but it took 11.5 weeks. I understand that delays happen especially with the current supply chain issues, but I just wish there was more communication regarding the delays. Overall, I'm super excited about the barn yard door! It looks aesthetically pleasing, rolls smoothly, and Walter and Chris worked hard on the installation (taking just a little over 3 hours). It looks way better than the DIY ones you buy online and I love how the frosted glass turned out. Through our builder, they wanted $2500 for a standard door, so we're glad that we went with Walter instead to get a custom one for less than $3000 (including tax) that's more practical and looks nicer.
