Been using Dr Mallo for 14 years. He's great with older people and supports veterans. I never had a single issue with him.

My dad is very advanced in years. Just recently, it was noticed at his retirement home, by a med…read more tech that his breathing was very labored. She had EMT's take him to the ER at Palomar hospital. He was given a lot of tests which proved that he had a light case of pneumonia, low blood oxygen level, labored breathing because of fluid build-up and HEART FAILURE! He was kept in the hospital for three days. My dad was given six medications, including a diuretic for the fluid build up. He was supposed to go to his primary doctor the next day, however, that was Saturday. So he called Monday, and the doctor's office finally got him in on Wednesday! Supposedly, the hospital sent Dr. Chiang the information about the hospitalization. Dr. Chiang wouldn't look at the papers from the hospital that my dad had. After the visit, my dad was only supposed to finish his antibiotic and take one baby aspirin a day!! This is after a diagnosis of heart failure which causes fluid build up!! My dad wants a new doctor and I want a new doctor for him!!!!

My father in law has been seeing Dr. Chiang for 3 years and has a history of heart problems and…read morediabetes. Last Saturday, he went to ER at Palomar Hospital in Escondido, complaining of burning chest pain. They did a full work-up, but the ER Dr. said nothing was wrong with his heart and said it was indigestion, and sent him home. He continued to have chest pain throughout weekend and finally on Monday, my mother in law called the Dr. Chiang to explain his condidtion has worsened. Dr. Chiang said just take acid reducer and if gets even worse - take Tumms! He never even asked to see him in his office to evaluate him again. His pain got worse on Monday night and ended up at Palomar ER again, then on Tuesday he had 2 stents put in. While all this was happening, Dr. Chiang was unaware of his condition. He demonstrated "no follow-up" and lack of adequate care. My mother in law had to call him to tell him he had surgery! We highly discourage anyone from seeing this Dr!!
