When I reached out for clarification, Christy Loudermill, who I was told was the "billing manager" (which already confused me, considering her title is practice administrator), handled the situation in a way that was honestly shocking to me. Her response came off cold, dismissive, and completely uninterested in the fact that their mistake had real consequences for me. Instead of taking ownership or offering real help, the explanation was basically a quick brush-off labeled as "human error," as if that magically excused everything. What made it worse was the tone -- like I was the inconvenience for asking why I was suddenly expected to pay far more than what Christy herself had confirmed. There was no sense of accountability, no recognition of the office's own miscommunication, and absolutely zero acknowledgment of the impact this caused. The entire situation left me feeling like accuracy and transparency simply weren't priorities for her. And the fact that someone in the office even referred to her as the "billing manager" just added to the mess. When the people working there can't even get titles straight, it says a lot about how disorganized things are behind the scenes. My opinion? If this is how the practice administrator handles problems -- with confusion, deflection, and an attitude that the patient should just swallow the difference -- then the rest of the office is likely following the same example. Son had wisdom teeth extraction. They did not supply a quote until 2 days prior to procedure, even…read morethough I requested one twice, several weeks in advance. Any time I needed to call them, had to call multiple times due to no one answering phone. On day of procedure before starting, discussed an impacted tooth and that they could expose and move said tooth since they were already in his mouth. They never said it would have an additional charge until after the procedure was done then said they would advise of amount after sending to insurance. 1.5 weeks later I get a bill for nearly $1,300.00 which was more than I paid for the 4 wisdom teeth to be removed. They refused to discount the additional charges, which were not covered by insurance. They only supplied a little gauze for after care. Other surgeon offices provide enough gauze for full aftercare as well as ice packs. I was treated as if this place only wants your money, they do not care about the patient or treating people like human beings. They also switched the location from where I made the appointment, but no one told me this until the day before when they called to go over what to do before coming in.

I can not get him to respond on 2 demands for my records, and until he placed the last crown, he kept me from seeking other help for the problem he created. The adjustment didn't work, and I travelled without being able to chew for 3 months. I went back for a second adjustment. They admitted the previous doctor looked at it wrong, and they were able to correct it finally. They also charged me for it!!! I don't recommend going to this dentist, they are not doing a good job, and charge you for corrections of mistakes they made themselves.

I looked over to see a cute little boy grabbing for some candy-while his mom kept saying no! Although I lost my teeth due to an autoimmune disorder-I let the child know that he did not need the candy or he would lose his teeth. He gave me a disgruntled look and went about his business while Mom thanked me. He would occasionally look over at me just to *make sure* I knew that I ruined his candy grab. This is when I took the opportunity to adjust my denture, although I never really need to adjust it because it's a perfect fit, but I needed to drive my point home had the kid been able to tell that my teeth were fake- this would have never worked out! And truthfully, every day of my life is better because I have teeth that look real and feel natural- today was just a funny situation that I wanted to share. I meet a lot of people that can really use the services at Summit, although it makes for very awkward conversation if they don't know about my situation- but you're obviously reading the reviews for a reason so I'll tell you what sealed the deal for me. I am certainly no stranger to dentists and all things dental related. My patience had been at the end of the line before I met Dr Calloway. He listened carefully, he understood my very complicated situation, and presented me with a plan. At the time I was working with several other dentists who just weren't hitting the mark for me. I was quick to throw Calloway at the top of my list just based on our very straightforward initial consultations. It was shortly after this thought when Dr Calloway leaned back into his counter with his arms crossed and a massive grin and told me something like "I can't wait to give you the perfect set of teeth" Although we're still working towards a full denture, my interim piece is pretty amazing. I'm in the Army going to the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth for this year…read more They don't allow us to miss very much class time, so finding a "one stop shop" for my dental needs was extremely important. The dental office on post lost my trust after the dentist there and his assistant (who are super nice BTW) dropped instruments during my appointment to get a temporary crown. Not only that, but after 3 days the temporary crown fell out when I was eating a sandwich (not something that was even that hard)!! Additionally, when I called the Fort Leavenworth clinic about it, they said that having a temporary crown fall out after 3 days was normal! I just don't see that as being the case. All these shenanigans was after getting referred for a root-canal that should've been followed within 3-6 weeks with the temporary crown. Fort Leavenworth forced me into the above appointment 7-8 weeks after the root-canal and basically told me "tough" at their front desk and to "just be careful" with the tooth that just received the root-canal. Needless to say, that's when I started wondering if I could go somewhere else. The on post dental clinic is severely lacking in customer service at their front desk and a level of competence that I'm comfortable with. After calling TRICARE (insurance) for my procedures, they gave me a list that I whittled down to a couple places. I eventually chose Olathe Smiles Dentistry because they could do all of the procedures I needed AND do them all in one day with NO follow-up appointments (pending any unanticipated complications). The dental clinic (Ebony) on post very begrudgingly set up the referral for me. No one likes confrontation, but I am SO glad I put an end to my suffering at their hands. Olathe Smiles Dentistry was great from when I checked in (Ebony screwed up the insurance referral paperwork that Olathe Smiles front desk ladies fixed PROACTIVELY), to the assistants and the doctors. First, I saw Trish who works with the periodontist Dr. McKenzie. She got me x-rays and helped out during my root lengthening. "Root lengthening" really should be called something else because it's when they cut out gums from around your tooth and sometimes grind down bone. I was nervous going in. However, both Trish and Dr. McKenzie were hilarious and their conversations REALLY set me at ease and took my mind off of the procedure. Immediately following that appointment (same day) I moved from one room to another for the permanent crown to be put in. Dr. Rawalt and Benita (I think) were the ones helping with that. They were both great as well! I can't express how thankful I am to go to one place for fixing the shenanigans related to that one tooth. Even with a sore jaw right now, I am extremely relieved to have gotten the procedures done by a staff that was not only VERY customer service oriented, they showed empathy through distracting and hilarious conversation (anthropology, Star Wars, toddler hyjinx...), and they were competent as well as efficient.
