I hired a contractor so I didn't have to worry about coordinating vendors for my kitchen remodel…read more Well, I ended up doing it anyway. As a contractor, you should reach out to your client and plan what services and people will be at their home each week. Instead, I was the one who had to reach out weekly to see if anyone was even coming to do anything! Six designers measured my kitchen, I saw one sketch of the final layout, but my contractor (and owner of this franchise) never told me what company it was or where there showroom was so I could look at cabinets and countertops, even when I asked multiple times. Then when I took matters into my own hands and my cabinets were delivered, I was told that PuroClean has no workers that install cabinets and was left to find someone on my own (and pay for it out of pocket). I had to contact the contractor multiple times at the end of a work day regarding unfinished work or poorly completed work, all which was written off as a "miscommunication" between the contractor and his workers. Turns out, these "miscommunications" happened when my contractor explained the job to the workers, left my home, and never returned to check on the progress or finished product. Overall, I'm happy with my completed kitchen, but mostly because I had to be the one to make sure things were done correctly. Save yourself the hassle and hire someone who will care more about you, your home, and proper communication with their clients.

D&G Carpet Cleaning for the win! This was an excellent experience. Great professional service at a…read morefantastic rate. I dogsat for my big sister recently. The dog is a Golden Doodle, 26 lbs, and 6 months old. I have never owned a dog, so I just let it have free rein in a never used spare room. BIG mistake. Cairo began marking his territory on top of other mess making activities. Cairo is a puppy but he makes a big boys mess. I had no idea how to get the smell or stains out of the carpet. I only knew I did not want to clean it. I tried my best but I failed. I woke up to the smell/stains being way worse the next day. It was like I hadn't done anything. I tried to Google to figure out the mistakes I made but I got frustrated so I searched Yelp, then started a project on Yelp. Projects on Yelp allowed me to create a service request that I was able to initiate, customize, and manage in real-time. No automated phone answering systems or long wait time or holds! I was able to make immediate contact, explain the request, and receive a quote in a mater of minutes through chat within the Yelp app. I could even provide photos which eliminated the need for a site inspection. I put the description in as carpet cleaning, stain/liquid waste removal and within a few seconds multiple companies reached out to me. D&G sent me a message requesting information first. I spoke directly with the owner. After a few minutes I received a quote, was dispatched a tech, and was booked for a same day appointment only 45 minutes after initial contact. I was directly contacted via text by Ivan D. who provided tracking updates for the request that gave an introduction of the tech I was booked that included name and photo, an ETA of his arrival, and live updates of the job. I was thoroughly impressed. This was very convenient. This was fantastic customer service. I booked Shelton Frey, the man is a wizard! Shelton communicated with me well, was punctual and was very professional. He got the job done efficiently and quickly. He was thorough. The smell was eliminated and the carpet was cleaned and treated. I was even told what to do next time and what errors were made. I spoke with Shelton about other areas because I intend to use D&G for the foreseeable future.

The work was decent quality and progressing until he randomly showed up at my house without calling first prior to completion of the job asking to be paid. On the morning he was supposed to come out, I received a call from him asking me about what was wrong with the roof. AGAIN, I told him that there was a small leak around the chimney. He proceeded to meet me promptly at the designated time and then asked AGAIN what was wrong with the roof and I told him again that there was a leak around the chimney. He then said that his ladder wasn't long enough to reach the roof to look... and then, most shockingly, he simply quoted me a price of $700-$800 to make a repair that he had not even LOOKED at! It was quite unreal. I told him that I wanted flashing put around the chimney and he suggested simply putting a sealant on the chimney without even looking or attempting to look at the roof or chimney. Really!!! I'm just gonna say beware of these people. I hired someone else to do the work for more than the $800 that they quoted but at least I was satisfied because they actually went up onto the roof and took pictures before coming down to explain to me what was wrong and how it needed to be repaired.
