Dr. Trevino listened so intently for nearly an hour, asked insightful questions, offered sound advice. He was thorough, positive, and most of all so respectful. He comforted my Dad and me greatly. We have researched the DNR policies of Texas extensively, and I must say that this is a complicated state to die in. I wish we'd found Dr. Trevino 3 months again when Dad first moved in. However, her front office rep always looks as though she's having a bad day and would rather you not have come in at all. Then, the unthinkable happened! Last year I was laid off and had to move, I was unable to pay a balance I had from a treatment she provided because I had no income. I was sent to collections and did not find out for awhile because of my address change. Once employed again, I made arrangements and paid the debt off to the collection agency. I have started having severe complications, which include severe pain, from the aforementioned procedure and called to schedule an appointment. Even though I have paid my debt, Dr. Schwertner will no longer see me because I went to collections. I will say that the front office lady finally had a pleasant tone as though telling me I would have to find another doctor to help me, had just made her day! I have been in insurance and billing in the medical field for a very long time, I have never worked in a place that would turn a patient away because of money, especially when the debt had been paid!! I believe this to be very poor customer service, and shows that it is NOT her patients she cares about, its money and that is definetly not the kind of doctor I want treating me.

I have never been treated poorly, never have had to wait very long, longest would be 10 minutes, and I love love love the patient portal. Whoever is in charge of the portal, always gets back to me within 24 hours, sometimes that very day. It is a great way to connect with your doctor and inform them of changes or concerns (not urgent concerns of course), instead of having to remember to tell my doctor everything during my appointment. I am confident that I will receive the same care that I always have with whomever I choose. During my past care here, I have never had the feeling the office over books patients. Dr. Spitler always had time for me, I never felt like she was rushing me out. I hope to find the same care in the doctors that are here at the clinic now. If I do feel that way during an appointment, I'm history!
