I have never had issues with this clinic, or with my Dr., who is leaving this practice and going to another practice whose hospital I don't want to switch to. So I have to find another doctor and I am reading these reviews. I have never been treated poorly, never have had to wait very long, longest would be 10 minutes, and I love love love the patient portal. Whoever is in charge of the portal, always gets back to me within 24 hours, sometimes that very day. It is a great way to connect with your doctor and inform them of changes or concerns (not urgent concerns of course), instead of having to remember to tell my doctor everything during my appointment. I am confident that I will receive the same care that I always have with whomever I choose. During my past care here, I have never had the feeling the office over books patients. Dr. Spitler always had time for me, I never felt like she was rushing me out. I hope to find the same care in the doctors that are here at the clinic now. Attempted to schedule a wellness/physical check. Have been using this doctors office since it opened. Was told I have to register as a new patient as I haven't been for a check up since 2019. The next thing I'm told is they are no longer accepting new patients. I found this unbelievable. My PCP retired. I didn't know that he did, but he deserved to get away. My family and I have seen him for 30 years or so. I called for an appointment with another Dr. associated with the clinic and was informed that he had indeed retired, and that the clinic was no longer supporting my insurance. That I understand, the Doc.s spent an incredible amount of time, money, (brains, they are so smart), and deserve recompense. The staff referred me to another clinic who does support my insurance. Fine! When I called them their initial appointment was in 4 months out. That was not ideal. I have enough chronic misery so that I really needed to break me and a new PCP sooner than that. Here's the really nasty part. I refilled a (1) prescription that needed a Dr. Ok. Someone called from the clinic and said they would fill it just once, as a courtesy ,but I had to get a new PCP For refill requests. The pharmacy for some CRAZY reason had to request refills from the originator of the R/X. NP...I told the pharmacy in person about the switch. It was the insurance company screwing this up. They couldn't "blanket change the original Dr. to my new one. THIS is the part I'm beyond Ticked Off (family rated), when the normal, repetitive confusion came about, the Georgetown Medical Clinic, just Denied the request! No Hi, Goodbye, or go to... Many times this was missed by the pharmacy or insurance, and I didn't know about it till I called, griped at the pharmacy pharmacy, and was delayed for entanglement. My problem is, if Georgetown got a request, fine, deny it. But could they add a hint or an announcement about why it was denied? Really, is that so difficult? 30 years with them and they couldn't spare a little extra time? They (in my mind), the clinic are no longer in the business of medicine, but just in business. read more

I had to select a star. If it were up to me I wouldn't select any. I've been a patient here for over 10 yrs. Dr Bohmfalk was my pcp. I know he's retired I was forced to see a Dr Chou. Boy is he the worst Dr I've ever dealt with. What's the point of being a Dr if you're not doing your job??? I've had to get a specialist for everything Dr Bohmfalk treated in 1 appt a year. I went to a new primary care doctor today (hadn't had one in over 10 years) and after hearing my entire story of "patient heal thyself" and years of typical doctors not helping me...he grinned and said, "well what do you need me for?". He was super cool and was very interested in partnering with me to just order routine blood work and being a resource if needed. He asked me all sorts of questions about my journey and took notes. RARE! I loved Dr. Chuo. I take full responsibility for my health and have found a less invasive and natural path to healing that works for me and one that gets results. He was very supportive of my path as well as the results I have achieved after 17 years of health struggles. He was willing to be a "partner" rather than a "dictator". In years past I find many "dictators" and cannot continue to work with them. I look forward to seeing him again as needed. Everyone I encountered there from the checkin/checkout staff to the nurses were very friendly and helpful. read more

Nice doctors but the front office is a hot mess. They schedule Covid testing then cancel at the last minute, did this for both myself and my wife. Reason? "Scheduled in error" and blamed everything else, other than the scheduler's incompetence. And they would not test me or reschedule, even though i was already onsite for my scheduled appointment. We are changing providers after having multiple front office issues like this. They do not listen to the patient or seem to care, it's obvious that patients are not high on their concern list. If your doctor is on vacation, you're stuck until they get back because apparently doctors can't see each others' patients? That is what I was told by the staff too. read more

Well my old dr has been gone for years, and I myself no longer go here. However my son does and after todays fiasco, you get 1 star and thats not because of your doctors its because of the bs your "book apt online" put us through. I made my son a apt online this morning for 1030am we get a email confirmation shortly after. We arrive at 1015 only to be told dr is booked and thier is no record of your apt. WTF I have an email confirmation from this clown show just this morning. Lady up front says "oh yea sorry our online booking doesnt work right IT is working on it you need to call to get a apt".....WTF so I pulled this kid out of school for nothing ? Unethical Billing Practices/Bait and Switch Wife and daughter have been seen by Dr In for over three-years. The know what insurance we have. They made us an appointment with Dr In who was sick that day and we were seen by Dt Cho, who was not a network provider. Our insurance company treated the appointmenylt as 'Out if network', now Georgetown Medical is trying to collect as our insurance company did not pay the full amount. read more

This is the most poorly run medical facility I've ever seen. Hold times to make an appointment are ridiculous, I'm currently number 15 in the queue. My regular physician retired and they can't tell me if there's another doctor that can perform the same TRT therapy. My husband loves Dr Voss.... But I will never get the chance to meet him because I missed my first appointment and they refuse to reschedule! I work nights and fell asleep and missed my initial appointment. They sent me cute little texts telling me Dr Voss missed me. And when I called to reschedule 2 days later, they told me it was office policy to never make a second apt with someone who missed their first apt. Pretty harsh. Tried to get an appointment for my mother who needs medication and this medical center won't see you if you do not have insurance! I was even turned down when i said i would be paying cash,WHAT? I did A LOT of research on primary care Dr's when I moved to the area, this is because I've had some questionable ones in the past and was not going to go through that again. I found Dr. Willingham listed as an up and coming medical "Super Physician" or something to that effect, a stand out Dr. I couldn't agree more, he listens to every concern I've had, has referred me out to other great specialists, and is very open and receptive. I don't feel rushed or patronized, which is paramount. You really have to be proactive these days if you want proper and accurate care. Dr. Willingham is a superb physician, with a great bedside manner, and an amazingly receptive nurse. You will be in capable hands with he and his staff! Also very important, his nurse is the absolute best, and they always respond to any message I've sent via the app in such a timely manner, it's quite impressive. I also love how thorough the app is, I can see my test results right there! read more

I have gone to Georgetown Medical Clinic for 40+ years. Yes, I am on Medicare and a very good Supplement. My Dr. just retired, and I had already talked to another Dr. about switching to him. He told me to tell them at the desk and I did just that! Today, I called to make an appointment and learned that I had been "dumped" as a patient because I am on Medicare. I always understood that this center did not take NEW medicare patients, but kept it's existing patients. I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do. I called for a new patient appointment with their newest partner. This clinic will not see "Medicare aged patients" even if they have private insurance. I was told they don't want their client base getting top heavy on that age group. I call it discrimination. It's obviously a financial decision. I was in your clinic for one appointment with Dr Ronald Only and I will never return to him. He is a good talker about himself, but not a good listener and touched very briefly on me and my health. I have been going here for the past 3 years and see Dr. In. I was reading through all of the reviews below, and I can see people's frustrations regarding healthcare. What I have learned is that I have to ask these questions outright "because no one is out to help me." Let's be honest, you have to be your own health advocate these days, and manage your own care. If you know already what doctor's you want to see and know who is under your insurance, then it's smooth. Anytime I need a referral, I already have someone in mind so that way there is no dispute or disruption. This office is more than happy to refer me out to where I want to go since I do my homework. I know not everyone understands insurance, but you need to start asking these questions as part of your phone calls to the office. Be proactive and don't get angry at the office staff! The office works with a TON of different insurance companies, and it is up to you to ask whether or not they are in your network or take your insurance or know what care is covered. Seriously. You can't fault the office for not knowing when they deal with a ton of different insurance companies every day. They are doing their best to accomodate you to get you the appointment you need so you can be seen right away. Now that my rant is over... I see Dr. In, and she has been awesome. She always has an appointment open within a day or two, sometimes even same-day, and her and her nurse are great. She knows that I typically come in prepared or with a referral in mind, etc., or I ask her if she knows if XYZ doctor takes my insurance, and she tends to always know or she does some quick research. Her nurse responds back promptly in the patient portal, and overall they are a great team. If you can learn how to ask your healthcare questions and/or address your own concerns over the phone, then this place is fine. They have a lot of doctors, so if your PCM is unavailable, they can typically find you another doctor. They have lab services available in the office which is great, and Dr. In is always very thorough and allows for time with each patient. Thanks to the staff and team at GMC! read more

Do not use this practice. They will charge you for multiple visits in one visit and insist you pay multiple co-pays. I just got a bill from a debt collector for the second co-pay that I refuse to pay since I paid my co-pay on the date of service, which was clearly shown on the bill they sent me repeatedly. I *tried* to resolve this with the clinic's billing department and then I tried to resolve it directly with my doctor. She refused to speak to me. That was Dr. In, by the way, but I think any doctor in the clinic follows the same practice as billing practices shouldn't be doctor-specific. So now, three years later, they send me to a collection agency even though they got payment from me on the date of service AND they got payment from my insurance company. read more

Please do not go there. I have been going to see Dr. Spitler for almost two years now. I had some issues with the tissue under my breasts and am trying to get a breast reduction. I ask for the notes and her opinion of the situation to submit to insurance to help me get a breast reduction. The team told me I had to come into the office for the letter/notes. When I got there she did not remember the issues I have been having for two years and did not make me feel comfortable at all pretty much saying you'll never get a breast reduction. After a month of calling asking for the notes on my file and a referral I get a message in my portal stating, "She recommend upper back strengthening exercises and posture exercises". I am beyond upset because how will posture exercise help the tissue under my breasts? She does not listen to me and gives me faces while I am in her office. I will never ever go back and if you are a woman I would not go either. She has made me feel so terrible about myself, so thank you for your help Dr. Spitler you were a complete waste of my time. read more

I heard nothing.. except when I got a call from a creditor for the $50 co-pay that I should have NEVER been asked to pay because it was covered under my insurance. So, my review still stands. Birth Control Ransom - After seeing Dr. Smith for a primary care visit back in 2020 she informed me that she could also fill my birth control. I was relieved about the idea as my OB had become extremely hard to get in to see. After providing me with less than a 6 month prescription, Dr. Smith refused to fill my birth control pills stating that I first needed to come in for an annual visit. I explained that I had no immediate need to come in for a visit, and was told that I would need to come in or else I would not be getting my BC refilled. I am a 35 year women in good health with no underlined health concerns. I have already seen Dr. Smith this year for another matter so it's not as if she hasn't seen me in over a year. Dr. Smith is a family physician, not an OB - there is no reason for her to have refused a refill contraception aside from monetary gain. I have not gone back to her and warn those who are going for this simple reason to find another doctor. During the few visits that I did see her, she lacked empathy and was very dismissive. I really, REALLY want to give fewer stars, but two (2) of the physicians, here, are also friends. Ugh. :/ The reality, though, is that personalized service has gone down rapidly over the years, while political correctness (Really? A doctor's office, actually, had an option for "Other" for gender?) and a focus on money, money, money (One is, now, expected to pay, again, for a repeat visit for the SAME condition.) has dramatically increased. I, sincerely, do not blame the doctors 100% for this change, as we learned that doctors would, typically, rather not deal with insurance companies and, instead, offer a substantial discount for cash pay. And, the nurses and admin staff are nice enough and about as genuinely understanding as they can be in their respective positions. At the same time, if your name is on the plaque, you're in a position to make policy changes ... initially, bad, and, then, better to correct the poor decision. read more

The medical center is a total waste of time. As a new patient you have to arrive 30 minutes prior to appointment to complete paperwork. I arrived 45 minutes early but inadequate parking places and extremely slow elevators mean I was only 25 minutes early for my appointment. After waiting another 10 minutes in line to check in I was then told that I would have to be rescheduled because 15 minutes is not enough time to complete paperwork. As I was a pretty healthy guy I assured the receptionist I could complete it before my appointment time. 10 minutes later I was called to the window and told I would have to reschedule even though I had already completed the paperwork. As I had fasted as instructed I was not happy and ask to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said the same thing so I then asked to speak to whoever was in charge. We were then introduced to the practice manager who then informs us that we had not completed the paperwork in time as we would be taken to the consulting room a full 15 minutes prior to appointment. I reasoned that if this was the case my appointment was actually starting 15 minutes early. The truth here is they just did not want to see me today as they were too busy with regular patient walk-ins. The practice manager then had a problem with refunding my $20 co-pay which I had already paid. After insisting I was refunded she complied. when I the picked up the paperwork I had completed she barked at me saying oh no we keep your details. As I am not a patient of yours you will not I replied. This practice is nothing but a scam, the receptionists are rude and the practice manager is lacking in basic integrity. Dr. Only was great, however he left and I had to see a different doctor. The doctor had a medical student do everything for him while he sat in his office and then he didn't listen or do anything when he came in to talk to me afterwards. The medical student put his stethoscope over my nipple trying to hear for lung sounds.... really? The doctor who saw me for a whole two minutes decided to take me off a steroidal inhaler that I had been using for several years....now I have to use a rescue inhaler daily....thanks. I would go back to correct it, however since they "coded" it wrong and billing department refused to change it, I have to pay out of pocket more than was quoted. read more

I am giving the five stars because of Donna in the billing department. I have a flex spending account card and they needed more detailed information on a charge for an office visit I had back in May. Well, I had no idea what all was needed but decided to call and see if the Clinic could help. Donna knew right away what I was talking about! Since I needed the info ASAP she is leaving it at the front desk for me to pick up. On another note, yes reading the reviews I do agree the appointment people are very short with you and it making an appointment for a yearly exam is about four or five months out. If you are looking for care with any sense of urgency, DO NOT come here. Staff is rude, un-informed, and completely un-helpful. No one can be bothered for a single second, regardless of the level of importance. If you are in need of medical attention, I would recommend a hospital, or even a good vet before here. Dr. Willingham seemed nice and knowledgeable. I told him I took a hit of marijuana which was laced and started to have reoccurring panic attacks. I was prescribed clonazepam by another doctor until I could get a referral from him to see a psychiatrist, and I called and asked for another refill for 6 DAYS until I got in with the psychiatrist, and I was told "no because I used illegal substances." ??? Would not recommend this doctor. Am I supposed to go to the ER to get xanax every time I have a panic attack until then because he won't prescribe me anything? - bottom line had to go to another doc read more

I am very pleased with my new doctor, Dr. Chuo. He is amazing. He has a wonderful bedside manner, I don't feel rushed and he has genuine, sincere concern for his patients. I immediately scheduled an appointment for my husband's physical in August before Dr. Chuo stops taking new patients. I know my husband will like him as well and believe me my husband is very discriminating. I would highly recommend Dr. Chuo. His nurse is extremely nice and professional too. The entire staff at Georgetown Medical Clinic I have found to be top notch. I like the fact that they have many facilities on site that are needed such as imaging, pharmacy etc. read more
