We have been totally satisfied with the products and service that we have received through Rice's. We purchased an older home and over a five year period we have replaced all of our appliances through Rice's. In the past we have dealt with big box stores and learned the hard way that often you are not getting top models and consistency of service is a pipe dream. Noah followed up with me and apologized and told me the lady that was so rude to me was no longer there. Noah made it right by scheduling service for me and then following up after the appointment. I went into the store today thinking a small store might have better service. The salesperson acted as if I were an imposition. He told me I could look up the appliances on line. I asked him if he could show me the Cafe' stove on line . The computer screen was facing him, Not me. So, I requested he print the specs. We went in looking for a dishwasher I was not looking for top of the line. The salesman explained the various features showed us different models and we purchased what was comfortable for us. CONSUMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST AT RICE'S APPLIANCE & BEDDING CENTER. SAVE YOURSELF SOME GRIEF, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO PURCHASE AN APPLIANCE! Purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator from Rice's on March 24,2025. It was delivered on March 31,2025. On July 26 it quit, lights are on but no cooling is home. Lost all my food. Rice's was closed Sunday, so I called them Monday Morning. I was informed that even though it was only four months old and under warranty, they could not help me schedule a repair, that I would have to contact the company myself. The company they gave me to contact, G & G appliance repair, would not answer phone, respond to texts, and the voice mail was full. When I finally found them online and scheduled an appointment they were a no show. Now it is Wednesday. I called Rice's and they would not help me. I called Electrolux, which now owns Frigidaire. They gave me another company to call. They did show up, the tech opened the refrigerator door, said the defrost thermostat had malfunctioned. He was not there 3 minutes. He said he would order the part, of course there was not one on his truck, even though it must be a common repair since he was able to diagnose it so quickly. The part will not arrive until Aug. 8. I called Electrolux again and they ordered the part , however it will not be in until next week. I have been without a refrigerator for 8 days. By the time it is fixed, if it ever is, it will be at least 12 days, probably 2 weeks or more. Hauling ice and dumping the water out of coolers is hard for me as I recently had a total Shoulder replacement. Rice's staff does not care. John Rice, Jr. told me he would "try to help me understand the process of a repair." What I do understand is that Rice's does NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS. CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST AT RICE'S APPLIANCE AND BEDDING STORE. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY YOUR APPLIANCES SOME WHERE ELSE!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!!! We had a really great experience with Rice's. We were in need of a new built-in over-the-stovetop microwave when ours suddenly went caput! Trying to find someone to come in and install a new one was a nightmare so after some searching, decided to give Rice's a try. We were greeted pleasantly as soon as we walked in the door and never felt rushed while we browsed their microwave selection. All of our questions were answered and when we made our decision, the purchase process went fast and smoothly. We had our new microwave installed in just a matter of days. The installers were very communicative so we knew exactly when they'd be here. They were fast and efficient. We'll definitely be back at Rice's in the future. I recently purchased a refrigerator from these guys which they delivered and installed. The freezer flooded, refroze pushed the door open and thawed again. They refused to send out someone to look at it and told me I had to wait for GE to send a technician to look at it, this was going to take a week. I had to hire a repair guy to come and fix it. Turns out it was an install issue which cost me another $250 dollars. Will not be buying anything from these guys again. read more

I waited 2 weeks for delivery on a refigerator because I wanted an ice maker and they had none in stock, this was the reason for the purchase in the first place. Once delivered, the icemaker did not work. I was assured by the salesman that Rice stood by their products with a full warrantee for the first year. When I called them I was informed that it was a manufacturers warrantee not theirs. I should have just gone to Lowes and bought the refrigerator with their protection plan and still saved a lot. read more

We have used Josh twice now and he has been super helpful and knowledgeable in both instances. Firstly, we were in quick need of a refrigerator/freezer and Josh helped us to pick the right model not only for our budget but for our space constraints and personal need. Then secondly, we needed a new dishwasher. Josh had us a new model within a very short period of time which we were very grateful for. And, we love it! I will always ask for Josh when we come to Rice's. And, it looks like we may be purchasing a new bed in the very near future! His helpfulness and knowledge in not only the product/service itself, but he is very concerned in making sure that whatever we purchase is going to be perfect for us. Spent 2600 on a washer and dryer. Only to find the light to the dryer wasn't with the dryer and it would take a week to send the repairman out. Unacceptable. Was told that Rice's doesn't do the warranty side and it's out of their hands. Also was told the cheaper models I looked at would not be available for a couple months. Hummmm. I visited Rice's in Bradenton on 12/29/2023. I was greeted by a salesman and looked at Washer and Dryer sets. The salesperson recommended a set because of it price and value. I asked him for the price. He used his cell phone and said $1358. So I said ok ill take them. The salesperson prepared the paperwork but when he gave it to me he seemed off and hesitant. As soon as I looked at the invoice I knew why. The price was almost $300 more so I asked him about it. He said he made a mistake in his quote. I should have listened to my gut instinct and not do business with a company that doesn't honor their word. He did come back with a $100 discount so I moved forward. They delivered the washer and dryer and I noticed the washer was chipped in a very obvious place when I got home. I also noticed the Washer was not working. I contacted Rice's and they originally said that the soonest appointment that GE could come look at the washer was the 12th of January. This did not make sense to me. Why would Ge need to look at the washer since it was just delivered and clearly damaged. They should replace it. The employee did say she would call me back if they had it in stock and could replace it. She called me back and let me know that they would be out Friday the 5th of January. I let her know that I only had until 11am and she said she would put that in the notes. The night of the 4th I get a call from the delivery driver and he said the delivery window is much later than the 11am. I told him that will not work and he should contact management at the store since they delivered a damaged washer in the first place so it is important they correct their mistake ASAP. He then says" I have 4 deliveries in Bradenton and 1 in Sarasota so why would I go to Sarasota first. That is stupid." He was rude and condescending. So I told him to get with the store so they could handle him because he clearly has no customer service skills. I called the store at 10:00 AM which is when they opened to discuss the issue. Their phone systems were still set to closed so it took me until 10:05 to get someone on the phone. I asked to speak to a manager and we discussed the issue. He said he would call me back. He did not but another employee did. She said there was nothing they could do and the Washer would now be delivered on Tuesday the 9th of January. I told her that this is unacceptable and to have the manager call me ASAP if they are not available now. Then an individual calls who I believe was the owner. He says there is no way to get it there by 11. So it tell I have had enough and I just want a refund and pick up their broken and damaged washer and dryer. So after telling me he cannot have the new one there by 11 he manages to have someone there to pick them up by 11. So he clearly lied because that same person who left the store in a truck could have easily brought the new washer with him. I know he left the store because the owner told me exactly that. At this point when the owner lied I began to understand why the business has the issues they do. It starts from the top and this owner was the problem. The worst part is they have the broken and damaged washer and dryer in their posession but I still do not have my refund. So yet again the Owner lied as he said he would immediately process the refund. At this point people should avoid a business that lies, doesn't honor their word, and is owned by a person that must teach those principles to the staff. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, contacting GE to notify them that they have a dealer misrepresenting their brand, and if my refund is not processed in a timely manner be suing for damages as they failed to fulfil their contractual obligations. They also have my old washer and dryer and did not return them. I managed to order the same washer and dryer from Costco for $250 less, no delivery fee, and a two year warranty versus the stock 1 year manufacturers warranty. I wanted to use a local company but I just cannot justify the higher price along with all of the issues. read more

my wife and I bought a Frigidaire fridge from rices a few months ago the delivery guys were great in the set up and removal a few days in I noticed condensation in the fridge. I then noticed the two french doors were not aligned correctly just slightly out of alignment I called rices and they sent out a Frigidaire rep who aligned the doors correctly and that was the end to our condensation issue. love the fridge and service thanks read more

I received 2 phone calls from Omesh recently informing me that a few warming drawer accessories I had ordered almost a year ago have been discontinued. What has happened to honesty and integrity Rices appliances have been less than ethical and honest . Last week I went in to buy a new washer dryer.Curt Gosman the salesman showed me a discounted floor model that had a full manufactures 10 yr warranty it was pristine and clean but a floor model both my son and my husband heard him tell me it was a floor model never used with a full manufacture warranty I said I'd take it He then proceeded to ring up a sale the resulted in them delivering a used ,dirty ,beat up scratched up and moldy washer to me with a 5 yr after market warranty but no manufactures warranty. The washer he sold me was as is with no warranty. Oh and he charged me more than the washer costs brand new what makes it ok to lie to someone and do this .I paid over $2500 and he had them deliver something that was not what I had agreed to buy .It was an old fashioned bait and switch .When my son and husband went back to the store the machine I looked at originally was still sitting on the sales floor. On sale as a floor model. A friend of a friend ordered a new appliance and they delivered her a much lesser model than she had bought. When did this become acceptable . Why is this behavior allowed. I have had then take back the mast dirty machine the delivered me but these deceptive and dishonest sales practices need to stop . read more

It's April and a few weeks ago I got a call from my guy Mason..he told me that there is new family management that wants to right any wrongs that were done. I went in to pick out a new washer to swap off. It was delivered and it was doing very odd things, wouldn't hold water, turned on by itself. I videoed it all, went in to see Mason and he said it must be a lemon so we will change it out. The installers were neat, clean and quick and made the installation easy. And they even hauled away the old microwave. This review is for a recently purchased refrigerator. First, I was charged incorrectly, but that's not the reason for the poor review. The delivery men were on time and professional. However, after they left, I noticed 2 small dents and 1 small gash on the refrigerator door. I took photos of the damage and emailed them to my salesman, Joshua Donahue, and asked him to get with his manager to see if anything could be done. That was 11 days ago, and I've received no reply. A Rice's employee ( I don't remember the name, perhaps Peggy?) called me 3 days after I sent the email, but the call wasn't concerning the email or the damage. It was just a routine post-delivery call to verify that the delivery went okay. I told her about the damage and the email that I'd sent to the salesman, and she told me that she would get with him and then get back to me. That was 8 days ago, and I've heard nothing. If they don't want to do anything about it, fine, but don't just ignore a customer or say that you'll get back with them and then not get back with them. The incorrect charge was taken care of, but I don't understand how it could happen. I bought the fridge in the store and was charged the price on the handwritten price tag on it. When I got home, I went to Rice's website to verify the dimensions. The fridge was listed on their website for $69 less than I'd just paid. I emailed the salesman and asked him about it. I hadn't heard back by the next afternoon, so I called the store. The person to whom I spoke verified that the online price was correct, but he had trouble processing the credit. He told me that he'd have my salesman do it the next day (he was off that day). The next day I got an email from the salesman stating that his manager told him that I'd called and that a credit had been issued. It hadn't been issued. I emailed back and told him that his manager told me that he, the salesman, would issue the credit. About 2 hours later I received an email stating the credit had been processed. I don't understand how I was charged the price on a handwritten tag when the price in their system was a different amount. read more

I went to Rices to buy all new appliances for my home, The Rices employee they sent out to hook up my oven didn't connect the ground and left wires exposed. Needless to say they almost burned my kitchen down ! I was told by rices employee that the smell coming from the oven was from the oven being brand new and that smell would eventually burn off! So I used the oven. The smell never went away, it actually got worse and after about the 6th or 7th time I used the oven it then caught on fire shorted the entire oven out and I had to have all the components replaced in the oven as well as hire an electrician to replace the box and wiring that caught on fire that the Rices employee hooked up! I have contacted Rices several times each time being told someone will get back to me and no one ever did! I bought a Jen air oven from Rices in 2018 which-was quite pricey. Had problems from the first month and had to replace the circuit board inside because of error message kept shutting whole oven off. This month, same error message started again. This oven is like new! I contacted Rice and the gentleman there told me my warranty was up and didn't want to deal with me and gave me the number for a outside appliance company. I was upset, so I contacted Jen air directly and found out I had a two year warranty and they immediately set up someone to come out and fix the oven once again. Hopefully today it will be fixed otherwise I will look into the lemon law! read more

We needed a complete set of appliances for our home. We went to Rice's and were pleased with the pricing and purchased a GE Cafe set in Feb of 2021. We were given a delivery date of March 2021. It took until October 2021 to receive the complete order. We know that COVID effected deliveries but the store did very little to communicate updates. When the Range was finally delivered and they installed we found it was shocking us on touch. We waited a week for a technician to address the problem. The cause was that Rice's installer had improperly attached the lead cord to the wrong terminals. While the technician was there it was also found that they did not install the range anti-tip bracket which is required by code and the manufacturer. I really question what training the installers receive. read more

When asked about a military discount he replied it is policy not to give anyone a discount. We believe that everyone is equal. I received an invitation to attend to Rices' 10-hour Invite-Only Event to be held on Oct 26, 2017. To do my due diligence, I made the long drive to the store on the 25th to identify the refrigerators I was interested in. Both refrigerators were GE with the freezer on the bottom. The one I was most interested in was marked $1484. Today I returned to Rice's with anticipation to see if I could get a good price on a new refrigerator. Imagine my surprise to walk into the store and find that the price didn't go down, it went up!! The refrigerator was marked at $1555. When I questioned a sales person, they came back with the statement that the $1555 price was a mistake and the price today was $1484. So ...two trips wasted to find a "sale." read more

So disappointed with this business. New dishwasher was delivered today and the installer said he could not install it since he did not have the tools or authority for this install. According to the store it needed a licensed plumber. My neighbor with the exact same unit had her new dishwasher installed with no problem. I went to Rice's today to look for appliances and get quotes. Although I received the quotes I requested, I was bothered by the fact that I witnessed at least four sales persons and managers without the required masks. There was a sign on the door stating that masks are required for entry but their sales force wasn't in compliance. I'm not risking my health to buy an appliance. I also noticed that there wasn't any mention of Covid 19 updates posted that I see on most websites these days. I should have left immediately but didn't because the salesman assisting me was helpful and wearing a mask. I won't be going back to purchase my appliances. Rice's did try to rectify the situation and called to explain. They did their best to get my appliances delivered. They do work with a third party company for delivery so just be aware of that. Delivery can't be customized too much to fit your schedule, but they made the effort to make it right. read more

We were very impressed with the sales speech and the ordering process, but sad to say the Quality Control process was very poor. Rice's uses a third party company to deliver its products. We had damaged appliances and it took three deliveries (5 days) to correct the situation. There was no reaching out by management to expedite the situation because of the third party delivery company makes the schedule. Suggested solution: Unpack all appliances at store. Inspect all appliances before loading to delivery truck and then use moving pads to protect merchandise. This process will detect the "when" and the "who" if the products arrives damaged. We are a first time customer and their service plan will tell us if we are to ever buy from Rice's again. read more

I read some of the mixed reviews and decided to go with them anyway. the range hood arrived but didnt fit- I was upset (paul told me it would fit) I was pretty unhappy but they went out of their way to try and correct it. (as they should). so paul and the manager were both looking to find one that fits and realize they dont make that style anymore! so i paid a small upcharge and the installers modified the cabinet for me. The company was very good at trying to keep the customer happy. Being in business for myself, i have to do it every day. Kudos to Marco and the installers at PSI. they do a great job. so overall very satisfied and will be back for future purchases. great price, service and the appliances are beautiful read more

Beware: Customer Service Stops at the register. I purchased a new GE gas stove and matching hood from Rice's this last summer. They were nice enough to hold onto the unit until my kitchen remodel was done which made life much easier. After the stove was hooked up one of them said, we need to start the oven for an hour in order to burn off the factory smell. When he turned it on, it started to tick from the back. When I asked if that was normal, he said no and that we would need to have GE come out and fix it. I asked why he did not look into it and he told me, "I am just the delivery guy" Long story short, we have had GE come to the house a total of 4 times in 6 weeks for problems with the unit. Each time at the instruction of Rice's personnel. We went to the Private sale that Rice's had not too long ago to look for a new Refrigerator. While we were there I had the opportunity to speak to Mr. Rice about the oven. He said, "Sounds like we need to swap that one out, let me know when you find a refrigerator and we will delivery them both at once." Unfortunately, we did not find a refrigerator that will work in our kitchen after we went home to re-measure the opening. When my wife went in to talk to them about replacing the "Lemon" of a stove, she was told by the manager that they could come out the next week and that there would be a $199 charge for doing so. When she asked why he said the charge was for delivery and for hooking up the gas again. When she said that we had already paid them for that the first time with the defective stove that they sold us, he then said, "You can pay us and get a new stove or you can deal with GE and see where that goes."
