With Zero hesitation we called Vasil again but this time for a violently shaking (during final spin), 3-year-old commercial Maytag washer. I spent the $85 to have this guy come out and shake my washer-tell me it needs shocks/suspension and it would cost $500 to fix so it wouldn't be worth it so I should just buy a new one. I was angry so I talked to the repairman I originally bought the washer from (his store went out of business unfortunately) he informed me that he had replaced the shocks and perhaps they were defective, but the real kicker was he said the shocks only cost $80 so they were ripping me off with a $500 price tag. Feels like these guys just like to go out and steal your money for a service call then tell you the job is too much to be worth it. Caveat Emptor! I called them to fix a dishwasher that did not drain. After spending an hour, the tech did not fix the problem, but said he needed to order more parts. It should be noted that this is a hand to mouth operation with no inventory If parts are needed, they have to be ordered and installed in a second visit. I was given a bill for $293.46. A reputable appliance repairman fixed the problem in less than is 15 minutes with no new parts for $119. read more

They set a time to arrive and I said it was okay if they came early in the 4 hr window they set...then they didn't come during the first 2 hrs and 45 minutes, so I called, no one answered...they finally called back and didn't seem to even know who was suppose to show up, so I canceled. I'd had two other people out to try and fix my Whirlpool dishwasher and they both charged me service calls to say that the problem was the chip code needing to be reset and that it would be cheaper to get another dishwasher. Anton from SET Appliance showed me why the chip was not a problem and he then looked at the underside of the unit (which neither of the others had done) and said he was confident that it needed a new circulation pump. He phoned in the part order, came back a few days later, installed the new pump, and I now have a perfectly working dishwasher at a cost well below that of a new one, paying for delivery, hauling away the old one, new hose and installation kit (they make you buy this if Lowes or Home Depot install it), taxes and misc. costs. Also, the Biscuit color I need is very difficult to obtain and would require a lengthy special order. replace a module for dispensing water and clean up frozen water in drain pan. he had to order the part and then there was a delay on shipment, he came over and made the repairs. did a nice job. cost was precey, but i think any samsung refrigerator replacement module (original part) is going to be costly. a couple of months later, still working properly. read more

I've had the same GE refrigerator for 15 years. It seems like every year or so either the water dispenser or ice maker would 'stop' working. We've been through four different repairman via the GE warranty repair service. Parts were ordered and installed but....same problem. We eventually stopped using the water dispenser a few years ago and kept on replacing the ice maker.
