It seems like people would rather write restaurant reviews than service company reviews. Interesting... I made my selection for an appliance repair company based solely on Yelp reviews. As you know, dealing with broken appliances and getting repair service for home appliances ranks about as high on the fun-meter as a root canal. These days we rely heavily on our appliances, so any breakdown or downtime is a major inconvenience. Professional, reliable and affordable, these guys are amazing. My situation was a broken ice-maker. Seth showed up on time, promptly diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and rescheduled the repair service as soon as the part arrived. A different technician came for the install. He showed up on time, properly installed the part and now the ice maker works perfectly. Here's another bonus. They did not mark up, or take additional profit on the cost of the replacement part nor was the labor charge high. The repair was a good value and much better than trying to do it yourself. He returned the call within 20 minutes, sent someone out who was able to diagnose the problem quickly, gave me the price and option of replace or repair without any high pressure. We ordered the part and they were back in a couple of days (Unfortunately, they ordered the right part, confirmed on the box, but whoever packaged it inserted the wrong part). Today I contacted him because my washer has been extremely loud and I knew it was unwell. Rather than call me to make an appointment to come out and give me a diagnosis and a trip charge, he told me over the phone what the issue was (from life experience it's what I suspected), what it would approximately cost for the fix, and left it to me to decide whether to repair or replace the machine. They respond promptly, usually sooner than I expect, do quality work and are very reasonable with the charge. I called with a freezer issue late on a Friday evening, he returned my call and offered to come on Saturday but we scheduled for Monday. When he arrived, he tested some key components, checked temps and air flow and made adjustments. He could have sold us some parts but didn't even try as no parts were necessary. Venice, FL Our refrigerator, side-by-side, was not working, only the freezer was working. We called Appliance Specialists and they came within an hour. Matt Found that the defroster was broken, then he defrosted our freezer with his blow dryer and ordered a new heating coil for the freezer. In a few days he came back and installed the new coil. The old one had been recalled by GE and replaced with a new one with twice the power. The service, knowledge, and skill were great and the price was quite reasonable. My in-door water/ice dispenser was frosting over while I was in CT for the summer. My neighbor suggested I get someone in to fix it. I contacted Appliance Specialists based on internet search for a local repair shop with great ratings. I was able to get an appointment for a couple of days hence. They checked the flap and determined I needed a new flap and solenoid, which I OK'd them to order. Parts available in 2 days and installed. I realize the complexity of this repair may be considered fairly easy but kudos to the crew for quick response, on time to appointments, reasonable rates and tech savvy staff to allow me to manage this entire project remotely and hassle free. We called about issues with our KitchenAid refrigerator a couple of weeks ago. They responded quickly, which we really appreciated. The young man that came out was very friendly, however he couldn't tell me exactly what was wrong with it. He stated that one of the relays on the motherboard was hissing and that is what caused the issues, but didn't know which one. He stated that the compressor was failing and that we needed to get a new refrigerator. I told him that the water stopped flowing for some reason and we no longer had ice or water. He never addressed or fixed that issue and I'm not sure why. The refrigerator has been working ever since, but without water or ice which is a huge nuisance. When the refrigerator does quit working, I will purchase a new one but why waste the money when this one still works. He made it sound like it was going to die in a few days and needed to be replaced immediately. I now will be have to pay a service fee again to fix the water issue it seems. read more

I hate writing bad reviews BUT this was a very costly mistake made by Appliance Specialists. Our dryer didn't work well, kept flipping the breaker with heavier loads but worked for smaller, lighter ones. We called Appliance Specialists, they were very responsive and came out a couple of days later. The service man coming out said that the clicker sound indicated that it was something wrong with the control panel and started looking for parts on Amazon and other websites, he couldn't find the part, they probably didn't make it anymore, so he said it was nothing that he could do. We asked if it can be something else like the breaker and he said no. We paid him the $75 fee and he was off. Since we are NO experts we believed him and started to look for a new dryer and washer - since you want to have a pair and they are 12 years old. We found a deal and got them delivered, when they install the dryer and tried it out - it flipped the breaker!!!! All along it was the breaker!!! We ended up sending away a perfect well working dryer and washer + buying new ones - all this time and money wasted because the service guy was adamant it was the control panel. I called the company and the man returning my call just stated that our situation was so rare that they never say anything about the breaker, he was apologetic and said he would return the $75 service fee and that's it!!! I haven't seen the returned fee yet and if I would have been this business owner I would for sure have offered something more. We did suspect that something was wrong with our breaker but the service guy was so sure it wasn't anything wrong with it and we believed him - which in the end cost us way too much$$ Be aware! read more
