I dropped several vintage (1920s to 1960s coats) off about a year ago. I paid for them when I left them there. Over months, I picked up each when it was fixed. The last one, the most important, the oldest and my favorite, she had for EIGHT months. Over the course of those months, she had time to work on many wedding dresses, which were dropped off long after my coats were. With the advent of wedding season, my coats were deprioritized. When I finally got my coat, it had been relined (which I did NOT want or ask for) and an antique button was LOST. I was sympathetic to the fact that she'd been in a bad accident, but there is not excuse for devaluing one client in favor of others. I would never recommend this place for anyone who has clothing that is valuable to them. read more

The woman who works here has done a good job on hemming my dress pants. She makes spunky comments, which to me were hilarious. Even though her work was good, I only give 4 stars because the place is honestly terribly messy and disorganized. When you walk in, it looks like an explosion of clothes went off and there are articles of clothing everywhere - on the floors, slung across chairs, randomly on tables... everything piled on top of each other. If you don't have the ticket she gave you initially when you return to pick-up your item, it will take much longer for her to find your items and she seems confused (not something that happened from my personal experience, but I've seen it twice with the customers in front of me). If you don't mind the mess and not-so pristine cleanliness (which I just ultimately overlook), the prices are really reasonable and she does a great job. read more

Beware!!! she can not stitch in straight line. She completely ruined my two coats which I gave her for alteration. Also she will never keep an appointment she gave you for pick up and completely forgets about it. If you call her and ask, she will say it is ready but when you go there it is not ready (really ???). I should have realized that things wouldn't be going well when I walked into this business and it looked like a 15 year olds room after looking for the perfect outfit. Clothes EVERYWHERE on the floor, on desks, hanging up complete mess!!!! I left clothes on Tuesday that I needed for a wedding Sunday came in Thursday to get them. I'm told " the guy isn't back with them" I came back Friday now I'm told they were given to the wrong person and she asks for my number and address as if she is going to call or drop them off...... Nothing. Now we have Saturday I go before work and now I'm told she has the wrong address for where the cloths are. Also she tell the other customers "I don't know why she's so mad, they weren't that nice anyway" little to her knowledge that customer was my mother. In closing we had to buy new clothes which we weren't not reimbursed for and we didn't get the clothes back for the wedding we did however get them back 2wks late. read more

I brought my Wedding Gown to Rice Sq on Grafton St. to have it taken in 2 sizes and shortened. The woman who runs the place told me she could do the job, however a month later when I showed up for my scheduled 2nd fitting, she forgot we had an appointment and had not even started work on the dress. Once she had worked on the dress the chest was huge, the bustle was uneven, and the dress was hanging low on my body due to it not fitting correctly. We scheduled an appointment for one week later. I called her that day to make sure the work had been done and she told me I called her the day before and cancelled, which I had not spoken to her since our last in person appointment. She said the work was not done, but to come in 2 hours later and it would be. During this fitting the chest continued to be too big, the waist was now too tight, and the dress still fell very low on my body. She told me that is how the dress is meant to be and she was unable to fix it. She stared at me like a deer in headlights and was unable to give any solutions, just continued to tell me what I wanted (the dress fitting closer to my body and higher up) was not possible. I left with my gown and brought it to an experienced bridal shop in Wayland, Sienna at Bridal Fashions and Alterations and even after 5 minutes of explaining what I wanted she had me pinned in and the dress fell beautifully even before sewing began. She then repinned the bustle and it looked like a bridal magazine, so perfect and exactly how I had envisioned it. I do not recommend this shop, and am lucky I got to take the dress out of there and in better hands when I did! She may be skilled at doing a simple pant hem or taking in a shirt, but I would not trust her with anything special like a Wedding Gown. read more

The little old lady that runs this place is amazing. I have always gotten my dry-cleaning on the day she said it would be ready and the prices are very affordable. I recently brought her a pair of pants to fix the pockets and they came out awesome and the pockets were stronger then when the pants were new.
