If you are staying at ALOFT or ELEMENT hotel. You are landlocked unless you have a vehicle. The check-in person HIGHLY-recommended this restaurant for delivery. First time I ordered (summer roll and the standby PadThai) it was decent and delivery plus a generous tip under 25$. I ordered 2days later . The person on the phone said they don't deliver under a 20$ order (the previous order plus delivery minus tip was 18.00) so I complied. When it. arrived the prices were a dollar more than stated on the menu. Overall-- it is a good choice vs. the offers at either hotel. Check on menu pricing on the phone when ordering. read more

Good food if they are having an 'on' day. The owners are pretty shady though. We ordered wild boar basil and shrimp red curry. Both dishes came with red curry. I've eaten at enough thai restaurants to know That these two dishes aren't the same. Great Place. I used to live in Lexington and now live in Somerville. Although I am surrounded by Thai places now I still go back to Rice Cube because it is so good! The women who runs the place always remembers your name. After meeting her once she always knew who I was and asked how my move was going. Their mango chicken and massaman curry are great!! So is the basil fried rice. I had a cold one time and when I ordered I guess the women who runs the place heard it in my voice. So when I got there to pick up my food she had given me a huge thing of free soup to make me feel better! Great service, Great Food! read more

I have heard great things about Rice Cube for some time. A while ago we started to have meals delivered to us. Quickly we have become a loyal customer ordering great dishes with custom requests at least 3 times a month. The food is very fresh, tasty, hot, and healthy given the other delivery options we have. Great tasting Thai food at a great price. My wife and I split a soup, spring rolls, and a spicy basil chicken dish w/ brown rice. All were really good - nice flavors and spices - everything seemed fresh. Chef gave me some very, very hot thai chili sauce that was a great complement to the dishes (just don't use too much!) I love this place! I moved to Lexington after living for 10 years in NYC where Thai food is good and abundant. I was so excited to have a local Thai restaurant that I was their first customer. Seriously, I finally saw people inside so I went in for lunch and there were 3 buddhist monks blessing the place for opening. The food is excellent and the staff is super friendly and nice. I pop in there a lot with my 6 year old daughter and they always remember that she loves baby corn and usually give her a small container of them for free. First time trying Thai Food in the Lexington area: Ordered tonight in hopes for delivery but after she said a 45 min wait, I asked if it'd be quicker to pick it up. She said 20-25 min. I showed up at 20 min and my order was hot and fresh. Staff was very friendly! We ordered Beef Basil and Beef Ginger, both medium-spicy. Flavors of the sauce and beef were fantastic, really spot on and veggies cooked well. Only gripe is that there were a lot of onions - I love onions but I also know they are cheap and an easy way to bulk a dish up. That didn't stop us from eating every last bite of the entire dish though. Will definitely go back as it was very good for the money and convenience of not having to cook myself! read more

Fresh veggies and uses fresh green peppercorns on stem for a change. Curries are average and the crispy duck is sometimes a little too crispy. It is what it is and have had worse. Fine for take-out, but do not eat in! They don't even have plates. They gave us our food in take-out containers with plastic forks. Some places manage to straddle the divide between take-out and eat-in with counter service, but this place is not one of them! It was freezing cold and the kitchen and refrigerator noise was quite loud. The food was pretty good, but the brown rice was burned (the white rice was fine). Portions were pretty small. If you're looking for Thai takeout in the Lexington area, this only place you need to know about. I haven't tried their appetizers but every main dish I've tried has been very good to excellent. If you like a very hot curry with mixed seafood, "under the sea" is great. That being said for dining in I'd head to Sweet Chili in Arlington which is better. read more

The food is great here though the fried rice has some extra ingredients you normally wouldn't expect (raisins? tomatoes?). The Wild Boar Basil and the green curry were delicious, and I've ordered the Golden Bags before too. Bear in mind this is primarily a takeout place though they do have some small chairs you can use to sit down and dine in. I've ordered out for work dinners before from this place and finally made the trek out to visit the restaurant myself recently. We substituted broccoli for the "onions, bell pepper" options since those are cheap, filler and not as healthy as broccoli. This is NOT a sit-in restaurant. There are only 2 small tables and about 6 seats. It is a take-out restaurant. We had Pad Thai, Chicken Satay, and Cashew chicken. All ingredients were pretty fresh. Pad Thai was tasty, with a good taste and texture of the noodles coming thru. Shrimp was fresh. I usually put the cuke sauce over the pad thai to give it that extra kick, but these noodles already came with a sweet flavor in them. Chicken cashew sauce was very salty and could not be eaten except with the rice. Veggies were well done. Chicken pieces were fresh. Chicken Satay was very good, and both the peanut sauce and cuke sauce were very good. We will keep looking for a Thai restaurant with comfy seats and superior food. read more

I have lived in the Winchester/Lexington area for over 30 years and never have I found a Thai restaurant where each dish is so distinctive and always freshly prepared and served in generous amounts. Specific favorites of our family include Vegetable curry, chicken basil, under the Sea, and of course their Pad Thai and you must try their crazy noodle dish. The owners are very friendly and the lady knows my name and remembers I always take brown rice before I even mention it. It has made it difficult to go out to any of the area Thai restaurants because simply put- the food at the Rice Cube is better and very reasonably priced. Nice place and the food is pretty good. In town for work for 9 months and wanted something different so co-workers and I found The Rice Cube. We order at least 2-3 times a week from here. The prices online and the menu prices posted in the restuarant are the same but they charge you nearly an extra $2.00 when YOU PICK up your order. When I questioned the difference the response was "the menu is wrong." From my experience, the online price compared to the menu in the restuarant may differ and they haven't updated the online prices. Not so here, the difference is when they ring you up they charge a little bit more. Although you have a choice to buy from the restaurant or not their technique with the price differ . Not good business technique!! This would never fly in my hometown!!!! read more

I have been ordering take-out/delivery here since it has open. I tend to like more authentic and spicy Thai, so that's the way I special order it: less sweet and more heat/spice. That has really tipped the scale from being a totally fine place to a "I recommend this place" place. Always polite. Never screwed up an order. Delivery usually comes within 30 minutes, but they let you know if they are busier. read more

I stumbled on this place as I was picking up company lunch at the pizza place next door. I'm not a huge fan of the pizza place, so I was going to just eat a frozen dinner, when I noticed there was a Thai place RIGHT THERE. As I waited for the pizza order to finish, I popped in an decided to give it a try. I got Ginger Chicken with veggies and an order of Thai Rolls. I was so thrilled with the meal! The ginger chicken was extremely flavorful and surrounded by fresh big mushrooms, baby corn and scallions. The square blob of rice was a sweet signature touch. The thai rolls were also wonderful and came with a yummy sweet sauce with some red pepper flakes. I will certainly try them again and post some updates since people seem to think the consistency of good food is lacking. I personally found the food was fresh, hot and very tasty! Best take Thai joint in the Lexington/Burlington/Winchester/Woburn area. I probably order from here once a week due to the flavor, their closeness to my house, and the fact they are very accomodating when it comes to allergies. If you tell them what allergy you have and what dishes you're interested in, they will tell you straight up whether or not they can make it or substitute an ingredient for you. Flavorwise, they are not super spicy but they add just enough heat that you can taste it. Their tom yum kung soup is one of the better ones i've had because they don't douse it with sugar like some overly sweet Thai places. I recommend the Ka Pow Kai and the Indo Fried Rice as well. And the prices? Extremely reasonable for Thai food. Under $10 for most of their entrees. The only thing to take note of is that it's a take out place, not much space to dine in there at all (they only have 2 small tables). read more
