Insane gem in Toledo. I do have to say "no, SERIOUSLY" when I talk about this spot to friends and…read moream generally met with (understandable!) skepticism that sushi in the Midwest could be so phenomenal. 6/5 stars. The omakase is a must experience for any foodie and especially for anyone who loves sushi & yakitori! Came here for the first time 4 years ago, and again a few weeks ago. What struck me is that the same head sushi chef was there then and now and that they haven't really changed the menu too much. Yes absolutely there were new and creative twists, but there are tried and true staples which have been mastered. That feels like their vibe overall - friendly, neighborly, confidence in what they have and will keep doing what they're doing, seemingly resisting any pressure to expand or get bigger. It's perfection! The omakase menu has three phases: chef's kitchen, yakitori, sushi (gorgeous nigiri courses finished with the most insane cut roll I've ever had). Everything is delicious. No misses. My favorite phase is the sushi. We STARTED that off with the most melty buttery otoro. I thought that was bold, surely it could only go downhill from there. I was proved wrong bite after bite!! Seriously, imagine a series of nigiri bites that hold their own after the BEST. Of the yakitori, the chicken meatballs were my fave, so juicy never change. Highest quality, well crafted, expertly executed menu. Lowkey I also love that this omakase ends with the most delicious cut roll, and not dessert. As a savory girl through and through, this is perfect. The onlyyyy downside is that all the rich food gives me a bit of a stomachache afterwards :D. 10000% worth it.

Had I had come a minute later there wouldn't have been a table. The fish tasted really fresh. One thing that caught me off guard was the ambiance. It had more of an American pub vibe w very little Asian decor, atleast from what I saw. Also just a tad bit over priced, would I come back? Maybe. This was the most expensive sushi in the city but quality is there.

Tasted super fresh despite delivery service. I ordered the panko chicken curry as well. The first time, I ordered Med spicy, then the second time was extra spicy and it was perfect. I broke a sweat. The panko chicken was crunchy and crispy. I ordered the brown rice w it which I only took a few bites of trying to eat it low carb, but the brown rice was good too. There is plenty of parking in the back and you have to walk around to the front for the entrance. Owner looked Japanese and they look like they know what they're doing. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Its clean, friendly, and the service is great. I have to take a star away because the miso ramen recipe must have changed. My man used to come here every week just for this. Since their last reincarnation, my sweetie says its not the same. Not horrible but but not good so he refuses to eat here anymore. Now me, I like the addition of the spicy korean fried chicken. So yummy and even the next day its still so tender I can cut it with a fork. Get rice n veggies or fries with it for $10. Cant beat it. I just hate ordering from 2 different places for dinner but I still get it for lunch. Still worth checking out

I had started telling my wife "I can't believe something can taste this good!" The only other place in Toledo I would have something about which I would say this about was Souk. But then sometime towards the end of last year, the roll changed. It was still pretty good, but not the superb thing I had come to love. So I stopped coming in so often, but still once in a while in the hopes that they would go back to how they used to make it. I'd given up, but today broke down and went in today as I missed it so much. But my hopes were dashed as the roll was just pretty good. So I'll have to start the search to find another place to get my fix for rolls. Another thing is that during this time frame is how most of the time the salad comes out with just a bare dribble of dressing on it. So I guess a plausible explanation for this places downfall may simply be from skimping due to food costs.

I'm consistently amazed at the quality and quantity in relation to the prices. It's a hidden gem that's not so hidden anymore--no matter the day of the week, the restaurant is always bustling with diners. I recommend making a reservation on weekends, as it tends to get busy, while weekdays are more low-key. The service is exceptional, and the drinks and bar offerings are fantastic. While wait times can be longer when ordering sushi--especially during peak hours--everything is made fresh with clear attention to detail. Although there are many creative and extravagant rolls on the menu, the Beast Roll remains a personal favorite. Topped with crab and shrimp tempura, it's an incredible value at around $12.50. The combination of quality, price, and service here is unmatched, making it the best bang for your buck. I've tried various dishes and appetizers, and I've been consistently satisfied each time. Having dined here numerous times, I've never encountered a single issue, which is a rare and impressive feat. Their takeout service is equally excellent.

The scallops were succulent and juicy, the NY strip was extremely well seasoned. It was difficult for us to get to $100 as we were already full from all the food we had. They allowed us to use our remaining $20 to pay for the ladies meal next to us We will definitely return

This is not a place where you can get one large meal and leave stuffed!! The service was great, our waitress was so knowledgeable and friendly! My favorite was the bacon wrapped baby bell peppers. Was here a few years back and they used to have bacon wrapped shishito peppers which were even better!! I had the chicken katsu - it was just fine. I didnt love the chicken thighs. Friends had udon dish which got great reviews. Gyoza was great and loved by all- overall pretty solid reviews to go around our party of 10 people. Nothing negative to say, just wasn't worth 5 stars to me. Would be back on special occasions if that's where our group ended up but wouldn't seek it out myself!
