Chicken Meal
Vu T.

I had tried this place so many times, this is the only picture I took. First off, most items are pretty pricey, while the portions are good, some of them are not worth the price in my opinion. The place is very clean, nice and quiet, they usually get busy around lunch time tho. The staffs there are friendly and very helpful if you need help with your order. Lastly, the food is delicious , highly recommend the katsu set, the fried chicken is nice but a bit too sweet for my liking.

Order through Grubhub because of free delivery and $5 off, it's a good deal. I was expecting my food to be delivered at 1:05 but got noticed that it's delayed to 1:35. That's a little bit disappointing because it would pass my husband's lunch time so the meal became dinner instead of lunch. Fortunately it arrived at the new ETA. Spicy pork: decent portion size, packed with rice. Pork slices are thin but tender and not dry. However, it's not too flavorful, needs sesame oil and soy sauce, a little bit bland. It asked for level of spiciness and I wanted spicy. The pork as is without extra gochuchang isn't spicy at all. They put extra gochuchang on the side.

When I think of Korean food, first thing came to my mind was their fluffy rice. The very marinated galbi, insanely mouth drooling flavor and its tenderness texture, yum. And of course, can't forget the spicy and vinegary kimchi. Is this the same Rice and Mix that used to be on Walnut Street? It sure don't taste the same.I thought the older location was better! The interior design and the seating is waaay nicer than this new spot. We started with Korean fried chicken in soy garlic. I've requested the wings to be fried well done, and the requests were ignored after she says ok. If it can't be done, just tell me before I order so I don't expect it. Compare to Bonchon's, Rice and Mix soy garlic are pretty tasteless. 6 pcs of wings(not whole wings) were $12.95, I rather go to a Chinese take-out and pay $10 for 6 very flavorful whole wings. Next disappointment, the galbi. I had remembered their galbi to be extremely flavorful. Not today, their galbi lacks the "very flavor" they used to carry, but at least is still tender(the only good part). Let's get to the kimchi, it used to be spicy, all I taste today is saltiness, tryna give me high blood pressure of some sort??? If you think the wings is the worst part of our meal, U R WRONG! The fluffy white rice that I'm used to with Korean cuisines doesn't exist here, the rice is hard and chewy, a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! The best part of my order is the Soon Du Bu, I got this order to-go. Rice and Mix's Soon Du Bu is made with huge chunks of tofu which i loved. I have it made with medium spice, i think this is the perfect spice level. Will I return? Yes, because my hubby likes their galbi.

Beef Soondubu

For a seemingly fusion/western palate-appeasing place, I was actually really impressed with my latest visit here. I came here a long time ago and got a rice bowl and wasn't impressed, but it looks like they've changed their concept a little and I can say that I'm a fan. I ordered a beef soondubu, which came with white rice (no side dishes included, sadly), as well as a bottle of water, and it came to around $11, which is respectable for lunch. The flavors were what I expected and maybe even a bit more since I've experienced so many so-so experiences at places like this. It could have been spicier despite me asking for it to be spicy, but I got a lot of soondubu in the actual bowl, though the vegetable choice was a bit different than what I'm used to. The rice was a little undercooked so I basically turned it into juk (rice porridge) towards the end. I will definitely come back to try other K-food staples like galbitang and maybe even brave the ddeokbokki!

I ordered the koreana bibimbap with spicy pork and mild sauce. (Not hot stone, regular). It was amazing! It was very healthy. All the vegetables were really tasty. Also, the lady working there was so sweet ! I forgot my water bottle and she ran outside to catch me and give to me! She also had a great attitude while serving me, which was quite refreshing. Definitely will return, very filling and healthy!

a bowl of soup with a spoon in it

Taste was ok but kinda expensive!!! I'm from nyc and come visit here. I ordered kimchi soup which is $20 the size was sooooo small and just few tiny pork in a bowl. Not worth your money AT ALL!!! I'm an asian girl but everything is smaller than my hands.

Fast casual Korean restaurant with some hits and misses. Stick with the more mainstream dishes -- really impressed with their hot stone bibimbap, and their Katsu was good too. Skip the soondubu (soft tofu soup). The first time I went here, I was super disappointed in the soft tofu stew I ordered. The broth tasted watery and not very authentic. Maybe this was partially my fault for ignoring the cashier recommendations (bibimbap or Korean fried chicken). The second time I came here I ordered the make-your-own bibimbap (with a stone pot) and it totally redeemed rice & mix!! You can pick 5 veggies, 1 protein, and a mild/med/spicy gochujang sauce. This will set you back around $12, which is reasonable imo. The best part of this was how long the bowl stayed hot!! Literally 30 minutes later, the rice was still crackling and I was able to get a good sear on my rice and mushrooms. Very impressed. Additional notes: - Not a traditional place, as there is no banchan here :( - most bibimbaps come with a raw egg, but here that's an add on charge of $1 - the spicy gochujang is the most authentic--the mild isn't as good

The service is very laid back, but that's ok, the food made up for everything else. The only negative was the bonchon at the start of the meal. I like when they offer more freshness like pickled radish and what not, this was on the heavier side with fried potatoes and something called "fish cake" that I would not recommend. The beef stir fry was a perfect meal, as far as I am concerned, containing my fave veggies (onions, mushrooms, carrots, cabbage). The flavor was spot on! My husband really enjoyed the bulgogi bibimbap; while I liked it too it wasn't one of my favorites and the rice wasn't crispy when we were served, like it usually is. When you are done you pay at the counter. Really "local" vibes and I highly recommend for the food!

Portion size was surprisingly big in a good way. Bulgogi Bimbibap was good but the bulgogi was a bit too saucy/wet for me. It made the rice by that area wet. Would likely not get this again unless it changes. After ordering, the staff brought some complimentary banchan. The potatoes were my favorite! I would come back for the chicken and to try some other things on the menu.

We're never great at eating our money's worth, so the pay-as-you-go setup felt like a better fit. We got the favorite set for two, which ended up being plenty. The biggest highlight right away: they grill everything for you. KBBQ is just better when you can sit back and eat instead of managing the grill yourself. They also use a back grill to keep things moving, so there's barely any pause between rounds of meat. It felt really efficient. Also, the place is surprisingly clean and doesn't have that heavy "you're going to smell like smoke for the next 5 hours" vibe, which I really appreciated. Somehow they keep it all under control even with constant grilling. Service-wise, the staff were attentive and clearly working hard, especially since it seemed a bit understaffed. That said, my friend did feel a little uncomfortable at times. There were a few moments where it felt like we were being watched closely, almost like they were worried about a dine-and-dash situation, and we were asked multiple times if we had paid. I personally read it more as things being slightly disorganized with a small team juggling cooking, serving, and payments, but I can see how it might come across differently depending on how you interpret it. Food-wise, the meat was very good, but the banchan really stood out to me. The cabbage salad with a gingery soy dressing was super refreshing and cut through the richness of the meat perfectly. Free refills on banchan are always a win too. I also liked that the grill came with corn cheese, egg, and sprouts, nice extras you don't always get. The corn cheese wasn't as sweet as I expected, and the egg was a bit on the salty side, but still enjoyable. The tilted grill setup was another plus since it lets the grease drain away, so the meal didn't feel overly heavy like some AYCE spots. Overall, it was a really fun experience. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality and how easy the whole meal felt. Just something to be aware of with the service dynamic depending on how sensitive you are to that kind of thing.

It was good, but quite pricey given how little meat was in the dish. I would visit again if craving KBBQ or for its convenient location but wouldn't go out of my way given the cost and amount. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly! AMBIANCE Ample seating is available inside the store. We visited on a weekday evening, so it wasn't too crowded, but I can imagine it can get so on the weekends. PARKING Paid street/lot parking is available at a limited capacity.

The bulgogi hotpot was packed with tender, marinated beef, fresh vegetables, and a rich, savory broth that came together perfectly. The chicken feet were well seasoned and gelatinous, very authentic in texture, and the seafood pancake was crispy on the outside with a soft, savory interior full of fresh seafood. The place feels authentic and they refill your banchan, which is always appreciated. The flavors are slightly less fermented and a bit more geared toward American palates, but still tasty. Since the hotpot is meant for two or more people, it's large and feels like both a meal and a bit of a show. The owner personally helped cut the meat and prepare the hotpot at the table, which was very hands-on and excellent service. It's located on the second floor, so it can be a bit tricky to find, but don't just walk past it. There are multiple TV screens around the restaurant showing both Korean and American channels, which adds a fun vibe. Everything is very reasonably priced, and I can't wait to come back. One note: we think we may have seen someone try to dine and dash. The staff weren't distracted and it didn't affect the service, but it's a reminder to always pay for your food and tip well. The place is clearly privately owned and not a chain, so it's important to respect that. Despite that, service was fantastic, and the food more than makes up for any small hiccups.

Love that for the insiders. The only downside is you do not really know all the prices ahead of time, and things ended up being a little higher than expected. It is right next to H Mart though, so prime real estate. The yukhoe came out still a tiny bit frozen in the center, but the seasoning was great. Nicely balanced sesame oil, garlic, a little sweetness. They mix it for you at the table which is a nice touch. We were mid mixing and they tried to take our picture which caught us off guard, but honestly it is a fair trade for how attentive and kind they were. Seafood tofu pot was a bit underwhelming protein wise. One shrimp and maybe two squid rings. Not exactly seafood heavy. That said, the broth itself had good depth and the tofu was silky and comforting. Service was warm and attentive the whole time. The space is super picturesque. Small booths with grills built into the tables, wooden frames, very traditional KBBQ vibes. Cozy and cute without feeling cramped. Overall, good experience.
