The cinnamon roll was great, and the coffee was good. In comparison to other coffee in the area, it's just ok. This place is a just plain coffee bar, they have specified that they don't have warm food, due to the lack of proper kitchen they have, but they make damn good coffee, and my flat white was excellent. This coffee bar is a "branch" of the original Copenhagen Coffee Lab in Boldhusgade, across the parliament, and they take their coffee seriously. I got here on one morning in December with a mild hangover after the office Christmas party the night before. Looking for a quick fix instead of having to prepare breakfast for myself, the boyfriend and I headed here on a Saturday morning for coffee and a quick bite. As I previously spelt out, my flat white was excellent and my breakfast bun (morgenboller - sliced with butter and cheese) was very nice. The boyfriend was very happy with his cappuccino and a giant croissant.  This place is very cosy, with great service. The seats were not many, so sometimes it gets full in here, but without the noise and the crowd. I do notice that people come and go, to get their coffees away, but there are locals like us who linger a bit longer for a talk or just to read newspapers. It's exactly the kind of local hangout that we need more in Amager.

Probably because it's hard to find if you don't know it's Danish name (HAHA!). I knew it as The Little Yellow Coffee Bar, however we know that's not really it's name on a map or google. It is tucked away, right off Strøget, one of the busiest walking streets in the city. When you walk in, you can order downstairs and sit there, or travel upstairs to sit at a table or on one of the comfy couches. I elected to have my oat milk latte and chocolate croissant upstairs on a couch. I admired the decor and sipped my latte while doing some work. Around dinner, it got a bit busier since they serve actual food here, besides pastries and coffee. At that point, it was a bit louder and less suited for work. So you could come here for either a meal with friends or to enjoy the calm vibes of a coffee shop, depending on the time!

For us non-Danes, smørrebrød just sounds so exotic, whereas in fact it literally only means butter on bread. In fact, the Danes themselves often don't call it Smørrebrød, they just call it Rugbrød (rye bread). And it's exactly for the rye part that I love this typical Danish specialty so much. Here at Sweet Treat we ordered one rugbrød with meatballs & red beets and another one with fishcake & sauce - both topped off with cilantro. It was really delicious and although it doesn't look as a huge portion, the rugbrød is actually quite filling. The café itself is tiny, but very cute...I right away felt at home. Although, I think we caught the owner on a bad day, as she was a bit grumpy. Maybe it was because we were sweating so profusely after the climb up the church tower...

Sweet Treat is a quaint cafe serving up basic coffee/tea drinks and baked goods as well as a limited dining selection. I ordered the tea and a oat bar and was happy with my selection but thrown off by the rude service. Not sure what I did to offend her (maybe because I'm American ?) but it completely ruined my outlook on the place. The tea and biscuit were very good but also very pricy (60 kr total) There are so many cute cafes throughout the city it won't be difficult to find one with kinder service and better pricing.
