Waited FOREVER for my coffee, but it was also pretty good, so there you go. Also: should've tasted the cakes. They looked delish.

Exceptional service here!…read more The owner is from Spain and do not miss a conversation with him! Friendly guy indeed. The place is chill so it was a respite on a rainy day. I like how there is a slight separation of the eating area from the takeaway/ordering area to provide more quiet time. I went there to complete some conference calls and I found it so relaxing enjoying my latte and avocado toast. The avo toast is nicely prepared. Gluten free bread is available! The avocado is neatly sliced and arranged into the bread. A light drizzle of olive oil and tap of salt and pepper finished the dish off nicely. The cafe is located off a main road but is on a quiet street.

I settled on the Hearty Bowl with a chai latte, and this was a perfect choice. The bowl was presented beautifully, and each ingredient was fresh and pleasing. The flavors balanced each other, and the warmed tahini sauce brought it all together. I didn't think I would finish it because it was so large, but I did because it was so delicious. As a vegan option, too, this was incredible. The chai latte went well with meal, owing to its delightful spice. The inside seating was cozy and comfortable, too. They have carry out if you prefer. Don't miss this place!

Next Door Café is exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble into in Copenhagen. It feels warm,…read morewelcoming, and just a little offbeat in the best way, with cozy mismatched furniture and walls full of charm. I ordered a cappuccino and a breakfast sandwich on dark bread. The cappuccino was smooth and rich with just the right amount of foam, while the sandwich was hearty and delicious -- simple but satisfying, with that nutty Danish dark bread that makes all the difference. What stood out most was the atmosphere. The staff are genuinely friendly and it feels more like visiting a local friend's kitchen than a café. Prices are fair for the city, and you can take your time without feeling rushed. If you're looking for a spot that feels authentic and relaxed rather than polished or touristy, this is it. Highly recommended for a laid-back breakfast or coffee break.

The Staff is so welcoming and enthusiastic. The vibe is laid-back and funky with a fantastic music playlist and an altar that has to be appreciated in-person. I had the Müsli & Skyr w/Fruit. I will be back a few more times before returning home to San Francisco. TUSIND TAK, Next Door Café!

"Everything you look at can become a fairy tale and you can get a fairy tale from everything you…read moretouch." - Hans Christian Andersen Hej! Absolutely the most delicious Brød I had in Denmark! And trust me, I'm not being vulgar or sexist lol! If you're not fluent in Danish... Brød simply means bread. Ya! It's more than just bread! Bageriet Brød is located in the Vesterbro neighborhood of København and popular with the local Danes, so you pretty much know it's legit. I planned to bike over one early morning, but since WiFi was non-existent on the streets I couldn't unlock a bike, so did it the old fashioned way and walked about six blocks. Not the worse thing since I planned on carbing up! It's in an old neighborhood lined with boutiques and cafes, most still closed that early. Bageriet Brød is open! Yasss! I enter to Danes ordering morning Brød, coffee, etc. It gives me just enough time to peruse the menu in.. Danish! Lol! No worries since I do speak a little French, Spanish and English which does nothing here lol. Honestly most Danes in København speak perfect English, so no worries, mon. Order away... There's really no line, per se, but Danes are honest, never in a rush, the line is by honor system, so even tho two people slid ahead of me, when it was my turn, everyone turned my way lol. So I ordered the Morning Cinnamon Bun, Almond Croissant, Latté. The young Danish lady making my Latté was polite and spoke perfect English. Definitely easy on the eyes, but hey what's my verdict? I'll tell ya once I cross the street and find a bench. I decide to eat the Morning Cinnamon Bun first! Oh my! Each bite literally melted in my mouth! Crisp exterior with soft interior. So delicious! The Latté on point! Maybe not the best I've had, but I think the cute Dane who mix'd it - certainly convinced me it was the best! :D I decided to eat the Almond Croissant later, which ended being as soon as I got back to my hotel! And it was as amazing as the Bun I had earlier! Just Wow! After reading the reviews on Yelp & Google I knew my wants! :D Denmark still uses the native Dansk Krone currency rather than the Euro, fortunately, most businesses, will gladly accept your credit card. I also reached out to Rachel, former San Francisco Yelper, and now expat living in København that informed me of the Bageriet Brød and iconic Tartin Bakery connection. It all made sense after the fact! If you're unfamiliar with Tartin in San Francisco it is a pilgrimage for lovers of baked goods! Story goes that the owner of Tartin influenced Bageriet Brød to the point that they have some of his secret recipes! I've had Tartin before and I admit the quality is very familiar! What a small loving world we live in, huh?! In the end, I highly recommend Bageriet Brød in København! Amazing baked goods that will knock your Ecco's off! Just remember to bring your CC unless you be carrying Dansk Krone on ya! Jeg elsker også dig! And yes, I believe in fairy tales... :)

The pastries were okay. It'd be better if they were softer and richer in taste. I like the ambiance…read moreof the place - very simple yet stylish. Also the location is great - a square and a lot of hype stores around.

I never thought I would be saying this about porridge of all things. But, Grød truly opened my eyes…read morein terms of how I could prepare my daily oatmeal. We tried Grød at two locations: the Torvehallerne market and at 7Eleven. The market, I ordered the Oat Porridge which came with apples, roasted almonds and caramel sauce, my mom had the All In! and my dad had the oat waffle. All of us (mostly) left satisfied. My picky father loved his waffle. And I really enjoyed the porridge I had. The oats perfectly cooked, the apples and almonds gave it a nice textural contrast. Plus the caramel, which was more like a dulce de leche added the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet. My mom was a bit ambivalent because the All In was too sweet. But to be fair, All In includes all of their toppings. Including chocolate and caramel so her assessment was fair! The Grød at 7Eleven had this wonderful chia pudding, layered with yogurt, natural peanut butter, a berry compote and nuts and I was obsessed. So simple, yet so wholesome. I found a cup at the airport and proceeded to import it back to the States. Overall, it was definitely worth a visit (or 2) to have my mind blown. Grød may not have intended it but this lil Westerner is now leveling up her oats game thanks to their menu!
