My question is... couldn't that larger party that *might* come sit in the adjacent restaurant? We were after the lunch hour (around 2pm) and I get wanting to keep space, but this has literally never happened to me before anywhere I have been. Eventually, we were able to sit at that table (they didn't split it into 2, but we offered multiple times). No larger group came so there wasn't an issue with that...
