    Mac n cheese. Skip it.
    Lori L.

Sadly the food hasn't gotten much better since moving. I ordered 1/2 rack of ribs with cole slaw and Mac n cheese. I refused the first Mac as it clearly had been sitting way too long and appears burnt. They got me a fresh order and although it looked better, tasted like plain watery macaroni. Ribs were a bit dry and sauce has been burnt on them. They were still edible. Sigh. When they opened years ago, it was great bbq. I think the owners have lost their passion for this business and it shows.

    The "bastard seat"

A huge improvement over the sticky tables and tacky floors of the last establishment that occupied this space. The food is fantastic and well priced, the staff efficient and friendly. They even have a "bastard table" for those inconsolables who wish to eat alone.

    The beef.

Well, I gave an extra star for the sauce. This place was flat out NOT GOOD. We forgot to notice that we were there on a Friday evening and the place was not crowded. That should've tipped me off. We ordered the cheese curd appetizer, and they were fine. In fact, the portion was generous. I had a combo plate of beef and chicken, and my wife had smoked turkey. I posted a picture of the beef. Now, when I go to a barbecue restaurant and I order barbecued beef, I expect big thick slices of beef brisket that taste smoky and delicious. What I do NOT expect is prepackaged pre-sliced deli meat from the next-door Kroger warmed up in the microwave. That is almost exactly what I got. And it had NO flavor to it. In contrast, the chicken portion of my combo was obviously NOT bought from Kroger, because the pieces weren't anywhere near as big as what you get there. They seemed to be baked nicely, but they also had NO flavor. That's why I gave a star for the sauce because that was the only thing that rescued my meal. My wife also noticed that her smoked turkey had a prepackaged pre-sliced vibe to it. It probably was smoked at the manufacturing plant. But at the end of her meal, she said "if I had wanted lunch meat, I would have gone to Subway." The baked beans tasted like they also came from a can from Kroger. I drenched them in barbecue sauce and they tasted like barbecue sauce. I also had what appeared to be canned green beans with a little bacon in it. Both of which I could easily have made at home. My wife had coleslaw, which was OK. Cheese curds, two meals, iced tea for two, $39. WAY too much for the quality of food. Portions were not very big, either. The server was friendly and fast, in fact VERY fast. Probably because the place wasn't very crowded. If you know what I mean.

Pick 2 item menu. Baby back ribs and turkey. Ribs are good, turkey wasn't that great. Side items were good. Wish this came with cornbread!!!

Rib City: I've been here a couple of times now when I'm in Ohio. My co-workers like this place. I ordered the half baby back ribs, smoked turkey, bacon green beans, coleslaw and this came with Texas toast. The ribs were good, moist tasty flavor. I didn't really like the smoke turkey, it seemed like processed turkey in my opinion, so I don't recommend ordering that. The green beans and cole slaw were good. This is BBQ establishment, it's hard to screw up too much stuff. The prices aren't over the top so you get pretty good value for your buck. I'm sure I'll be back here next time I'm in Ohio. Please get Brisket on your menu as I didn't see it.

Tender and tasty ribs. Very friendly staff. Good value. Only negative for me was coleslaw not more finely chopped. Will definitely go back.

It was like a small city that I had never heard about. There were so many stores and restaurants all around. The atmosphere was amazing, there was a celebration in the square for Juneteenth and the live band and singers were wonderful. The food at Cowboy Sallys was delicious. I got the Coca-Cola Short Ribs and they were so good. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the short rib fell apart like butter. My friends each got a sandwich and they loved them. We ended the meal with dessert, their bread pudding and chocolate lava cake. They were both delicious, and the cake was nice and warm. Our server told us that the lava cake is supposed to come with ice cream and they ran out, so she took it off our bill which was very nice. While the service was very kind and welcoming, it was a little slow. Our server took a while to come to the table in the beginning and was somewhat absent during the dining experience. The host came over to take our order because she was busy. But they were both very nice when they did come to the table and chatted with us. Overall it was very fun and the food was really good, and it was the perfect night with nice weather and live music not far away.

Lots of black, blue, darker colors, but nowhere near as macabre. Pleasant, though. We were given menus, cool, leather bound mini binders. (These are way different than other pics from earlier reviews) Really neat selection of house drinks (adult beverages) wide selection of Bourbons, whiskey and tequila. My wife got the Berry Naughty, (see menu pic for description) Evan waited on us. I ordered the Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich, Hickory-smoked pulled pork + Tangy Carolina gold BBQ sauce + Southern slaw + House pickles + Cowboy Crack Sauce + Buttered brioche with fries. It has coleslaw and their special Cowboy Crack sauce on it. The pulled pork was cooked well, huge amount of meat. Definitely not shredded, but pulled apart. A few chunks were at least 2" in length and about 1 1/4" wide. Also, it comes with a boq sauce already on it, besides their special sauce. My preference is the pork has no boq sauce on it but it's at the table to add if it's needed. But, gotta say this, HUGE amount of meat, and a tasty bun. Fries were good, but not spectacular or special. Their ketchup has some kick to it, so that was pretty neat. But, my taste buds were almost confused with the special sauce, the bbq sauce and then the ketchup. My wife ordered the Coca-Cola Braised Short Rib Slow-braised short rib + Coca-Cola reduction + Buttery whipped potatoes + Smothered green beans + Crispy tobacco onions. Next time I may order that. I tasted the meat and mashed potatoes, yeh, really yummy! All in all, a good night, really good service, not too noisy, nice decor (several lights looked burnt out in a corner chandelier and a a dark evening, it would be difficult to see a menu. Just sayin') Not a big drinker but definitely a large selection of adult beverages. Would definitely make it a fun evening. Yeh, warrants a return visit with friends!!

Smoked wings , average at best. Rather small and glistened from the grease. These wings appear to be smoked ahead of time, which certainly makes sense. And I am assuming, after they are ordered, they flash fry them to reheat them. So now our smoked wings have a taste of fried wings. Not horrible, but really wasn't what I was looking for. My wife thought they were marginal. We brought quite a bit of wings at home over the family. As my kids showed up throughout the evening, all three of them tried some of these wings. They agreed, marginal at best, maybe just OK. I did find the restaurant clean, and the staff are very friendly. I am no real expert, but possibly the expensive menu is to blame. I think they're trying to do too much. Too much variety, is my theory. I probably won't be returning as they are better options in my opinion.

We were extremely disappointed. These ribs were very undercooked and so boring. I couldn't imagine how they'll stay in business.
