If you're looking for a DJ that will keep everyone entertained and keep the party going - Umair is your guy. I hired Umair to DJ my wedding weekend - it was a typical Indian event (around 300 people), and there were 3 main events he had to have sound and lighting set up for (Sangeet, Baraat/Wedding Ceremony, and Cocktail Hour/Reception). Umair is extremely responsive to emails. He set up calls with us to go through what type of music we were into / the vibe that we wanted, and also to go over the feel that we wanted each of our events to have. He asked us for some of our favorite songs and example songs we'd want at each event, so he could curate the perfect playlist. He doesn't just make assumptions with what you want - I had sent him a link for our bride and groom walk out song into the reception, and had messed up on the timings when I had sent them to him. He called me to clarify and understand exactly where I wanted the song to start. The weekend started with the Sangeet - we had some last minute changes to music a few weeks before and Umair handled it so professionally. He had everything ready on the day and cued up perfectly. The groom's Baraat started on a boat, and then ended with a walking portion. Umair was able to get us a Dhol player and sound station for the boat, and then was able to keep the music and party going when the Groom got off and started to walk. The reception, we had asked Umair for a DJ booth LED screen (to cover the DJ booth to add more of a "club" vibe), and had it hiding behind the couch before we did the grand reveal after the main program was over. It was exactly what I wanted, and the lighting that Umair had set up was perfect for the overall vibe that I was going for. We also asked for a Dhol player again, and the team was able to produce. They also worked well with the violinist we had hired to make sure that she was set up and ready to play when the guests started arriving. Umair was a great MC - he had people engaged and laughing all weekend. His skills go way beyond just DJing, and you can tell he has a presence and a way with people. I'm so glad that we decided to go with him as the MC for our Sangeet and Reception. No matter the event, if there was music, people were dancing. He was able to create sets that catered to everyone, whether they were 7 years old, or 70 years old. All of my guests raved about the music and were so impressed with the music/mixes. There were 0 technical difficulties - no music cutting out or lighting not working or mics giving feedback. Everything was absolutely perfect, and you could tell that the entire team was professional and worked very hard to make the event as perfect as possible. He worked extremely closely with my wedding planner to make sure that everything was 100% what I needed for each event. The hotel we had our reception at didn't allow cold sparklers (which I really wanted for the grand entrance). Umair fought tooth and nail to try to bring my vision to life (even though unfortunately the cold sparklers didn't happen, but to no fault of Riamu Entertainment's). He went above and beyond in that sense - a lot of other DJs would have just given up. But Umair was ready to talk to whoever was needed, whether it be at the hotel or the city or the fire marshals, to make it happen. Umair makes magic happen. If I could give 10 stars on here I definitely would! We are so grateful that we booked with Umair and his team for our wedding. He was easy to communicate with throughout our whole wedding process! he would jump on a call with us anytime we had questions or needed advice. He was very honest about what we would need in terms of lighting and never tried to talk us into anything or upsell us on anything we did not want or were comfortable with. He was on point with his music selection (there was a good amount of times I asked him to select the music based on what he thought was appropriate), keeping the crowd engaged, and most importantly kept the party going. Umair and his team were an absolute dream to work with. Umair was extremely responsive leading up to our wedding and reception, provided some guidance on music that we could choose for different aspects of our ceremony AND made sure to have a phone call with us to walk through the songs selected so that we were all on the same page. Music and lighting went seamless during our wedding - including a surprise bridal performance during the baraat. This one was a surprise to almost everyone in attendance so being able to pull this off was a huge deal and Umair was instrumental in making it happen! To date, Umair has been the best reception DJ I've ever encountered and I'm not just saying that because it was our reception! We heard so many compliments from our guests and that included many elderly family members too! Umair MC'd our event and made sure all of our reception performances went well, too. We had a wide range of music tastes amongst our guests and Umair listened to what we wanted and kept an eye out for what was working for our guests on the dance floor. He blended English and Hindi music so smoothly, transitioning between the classics and some of the newer songs. The dance floor was packed the entire time and this was a huge testament to Umair and his team! I frequently think back to our reception and wish I could go back and dance the night away! Umair is a complete professional. He is very experienced and knows his stuff. He keeps the party going at every event, does not miss a beat, and plays great track after great track. You are in safe hands with him, and he comes at a very reasonable price. My partner and I went through 20 vendors in the SoCal area and he was by far the highest value for what we had budgeted - even the higher-priced competitors did not have nearly his level of expertise. Hired Umair to DJ our Walima and let me just get this out of the way from the start: he killed it!! I emailed him an outline of the event before the day of the event and was worried if he'd be able to MC the event as I had envisioned it. But my fears were quickly assuaged when at the start of the event I saw him organizing our entrances, which I wasn't expecting for him to do. He was very helpful with organizing and we didn't even have to ask him! Music was on point as well and he delivered with a mix of different songs. But not only did he do a great job DJing/MCing, he also helped my bride and I throughout the event. For instance, he got us water while we were busy on stage being bombarded by all the guests. The phrase that he spoke that stuck with me the most was, "I'm more then just a DJ!" And so he is! I would 100% recommend Umair for his DJ/MC services at your wedding. I will start and end this review with the same comment..."I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RIAMU ENTERTAINMENT!" My now wife and I hired Umair to perform a fusion wedding that incorporated both the Hindu and Christian wedding ceremonies, and we nor our guests were disappointed. This encompassed everything from the Baraat, to music at both ceremonies (and intermission), cocktail hour services, and of course, the reception. And I must say, that he and his staff are true professionals through and through. For those who want a short review, there it is. I highly recommend. However, for those who would like some additional details on why I highly recommend, please read on. Below are a list of just a few reasons I wanted to share: **Communication - Umair was not only really responsive to emails and phone calls, but he made himself always available to verbally discuss if needed. In our case, we had numerous questions surrounding a fusion wedding and his experience, and he was always happy to share his suggestions and opinions which we not only appreciated, but helped make our wedding better. **Flexibility - As time approached our wedding, there was lots of minor changes to timeline, song order, etc., and Umair was always accommodating and flexible. Additionally, as with any large event, there was some hiccups on the day of outside of his control, and he adapted through it all. **MCing services - This by far was the biggest bonus of all of his services. Sure, from everything I had heard, I expected him to be top notch from a DJing standpoint. And he did not disappoint. But Umair's MCing skills was well above what I expected. Aside from being funny, clear, and entertaining overall, he was super tuned in with not only the wedding coordinator, but with the guests to help facilitate anything that needed to be done. From explaining to our guests how to perform Indian dance moves during the Baraat, to getting people seated after intermission, to all his intros at the reception, he was by far an excellent MC. **DJing service - By now, hopefully everyone should know that Umair is a phenomenal DJ. In my case, being a fusion wedding, Umair did an amazing job integrating music from both cultures into our ceremonies. His transitions from the music at the wedding to the music at the reception were seamless, and I had so many compliments at the end of the night. Well...I guess some compliments, and some complaints that their feet hurt, which I also take as a compliment. That means they were dancing all night. **Great support staff - Riamu entertainment is great because of Umair, but it was clear that he is great because of his staff. From the range of services I had, there was about 4-5 other individuals that Umair brought from the Dohl player, to Lighting specialist, to support staff. And they were all on point. Not once did we have any technical or other issue with our DJ services. Two of them event went well above and beyond and helped our photographer with holding some lighting up for our pictures after the ceremony. Umair worked multiple wedding events(Sangeet, Wedding, and Reception) for our wedding a few weeks ago and did a phenomenal job! He kept the crowd engaged, gauged the type of music the crowd was into and played songs accordingly. We had a Gujarati/Punjabi wedding, so it was important for us to get the best of both cultures in the type of music he played. This was more prominent at the Sangeet/Garba, where he played Garba music, Punjabi music, and Bollywood music of our choosing! Everyone of course enjoyed the Wedding and reception as well! The dhol player and mobile DJ were really great during the Baraat and Umair did a great job yet again engaging the crowd and keeping them dancing - which was incredible! Umair was our DJ and MC for our mehndi and wedding. We didn't know what to expect, because we were planning a Pakistani-American fusion wedding in Alaska (!!!) so, of course, the crowd was super diverse, and - as any bride and groom will attest - we were worried about getting people to dance at our wedding. Turns out we had no reason at all to be nervous. Umair and Luis were TERRIFIC! They brought the house down BOTH nights! We hired Riamu for lighting and music for our wedding in Palm Springs. They did an amazing job and many of our guests came up to us to tell us how much they loved the music. They put together multiple sound set ups for our Sangeet (outdoor + indoor parties), multiple set ups for the Bharat (mobile DJ for horse + audio and music for ceremony), and also took care of the reception music and lighting. I wanted Riamu to be the DJ for our Punjabi-fusion wedding in San Diego in December 2013 because I was confident that he'd be able to keep everyone dancing all night by switching it up between bhangra and American music, and he sure did deliver! Riamu Entertainment is fabulous!!! We hired them to do lighting and DJ for our 2 day engagement party in San Francisco. Presentation was perfect. The DJ setup was impeccable and looked classy.The lighting was exactly what I had asked for! For lighting at the event- Umair worked with my decorator, and orchestrated exactly what I wanted. Umair and my decorator worked together without bothering me about it. On top of it, he did all this with me over the phone. I didnt have a single meeting with him because I don't live in LA. I didn't even meet him until the day of the event in SF. Yet, when it came down to any questions, contract concerns, or even the playlists for the events, he was on top of it! I gave him this insane program for the event where I listed exact songs I wanted playing at what ceremony point, with the time marks listed on each song and he pulled it off =) Thats pretty hard to do when you don't have a coordinator, but Umair managed it! In the days leading up to the event, I literally would email him 10 times a day, and he put up with it =) He responded to every little concern very promptly! I think that kind of personal attention is so important. After working with as many vendors as I have, I really liked that about Umair. He didn't make me feel like just a business client, rather he made me feel like my event was just as important to him as it was to me. The music aspect of it, let's just say he knows what he's doing! People danced non stop, they didnt want to get off the dancefloor! Umair really knows how to keep the party going. I've been to parties, where people get bored of dancing and the dance floor empties out. Not in Umair's case at all, everyone was dancing the entire night until they were ready to kick us out! He had a good feel for the crowd, and knew what people would respond to well. Last thing I will add about Umair is how personable and easy he is to work with.
