We signed up for a free tour here in conjunction with the Phoenix Flies series in March. However, I think they may do paid weekend tours at other times during the rest of the year. If you have driven much between Midtown and Buckhead, odds are that you've passed this castle-like house before. Parking is across Spring Street in a dedicated lot (underneath an on-ramp to the connector). You then just cross the street and are behind the home itself. We entered via the front door which faces Peachtree Street. Our tour lasted about an hour and focused on the architecture and history of the home. It was constructed early in the 20th century and has a lot of nice details (woodwork, light fixtures, wall murals, etc.). The tour does not include the upstairs (which is now office space for the historic trust that operates the site). It does include a brief visit to the basement, which is just an average semi-finished space. There is also a room with historical photos of the surrounding area - the shopping plaza that was built later and which surrounded the home on three sides at one point (only one 'arm' of derelict shops still exists). I recall when the Rhodes Theater was still in operation (showing older and/or cult films). I've driven by here countless times and it was nice to actually get an in-depth tour of the property. This is definitely worth doing once if you live in the area or have an interest in architecture. read more

I have always thought that Rhodes Hall was a terrific venue and have been fascinated by it's Romanesque castle façade coupled with the ornate Victorian interior. So it was really an easy choice for my partner and I who married on Sunday, April 24th, 2016. We had 95 guests with our ceremony on the steps, cocktail and reception split inside and out so that the dance floor could be in the reception. It was a bit windy for the piping drape and urns so be certain you weight down well. Chrystal was a true joy, her experience with the venue gave her the knowledge to make great suggestions. While we did add florals and décor on the tables and mantels, we kept them in the feel of the home very lush and loose. We wanted people to explore the home the whole evening, not just for ceremony or dinner. We put the bar into the den so it was just off the dance floor (in the reception hall ) and would keep people flowing through the home even after dinner. She offered to work with us every step of the way and was always easy to reach when needed. I got my cake bar in the parlor with my 60" rounds plus sweetheart table and the rest of the guests were either seated in the library or on the porch. Dinner was buffet style, then we all returned for dancing and mingling. Several did mingle on the front and side porches, taking photos of the home, ceremony or photo backdrop. The day of is truly a whirlwind, the staff was on top of everything. I'm very hands on and they wouldn't allow me to do anything. = ) I too, returned from my honeymoon to find my security deposit check had been returned. It was even easy to pick up the cooler we realized had been left there about 2 weeks we later. I can't wait to see the rest of our photos as the peeks I've gotten have been amazing! A seriously gorgeous old home that'd be the perfect event venue for any classy affair. The parking lot is across the street in the back but as long as you can also use the adjoining church lot there are plenty of spots. The main floor of Rhodes Hall has a large foyer room with three or four rooms off of it that worked well for a large seated dinner I attended. The rooms are all ornate, colorful, and beautifully preserved. As you could expect, the air conditioning is not the best. Probably a better bet for events in the cooler months. read more

What a lovely piece of history in the city! My husband's non-profit hosted their annual dinner here. The group of approximately 65 people spent most of the evening in the main hall with the fireplace and staircase since that was the easiest space to gather in. They set up the bar in front of the mirrors and the appetizers along the north wall. The group was divided into 4 seating areas on the main floor, with a long table or two in each. The space itself is pretty well maintained for an historic home. The AC isn't the best since it's all window units, so tell the gentlemen not to wear coats or don't have your event in the summer heat. If you think Atlanta has changed a lot in the last 13 years, just ponder all the changes this house has seen since it was built in 1904. While nothing like the description, just seeing the faces in the stained glass behind the staircase made me think of the house that Scarlett and Rhett build on Peachtree Street in Gond With the Wind. Imagine "castles" like this up and down Peachtree Street at the turn of the century. The display cabinets full of crystal from the period help to conjure images of luxurious days gone by. The parking is in a slightly awkward lot across Spring St, so I'd reccomend having your event at a time when you can also park in the church lot next door. read more

We decided on Rhodes Hall for our wedding reception venue and it was perfect!! The setting was so charming and romantic! The staff was incredibly professional and coordinated with our caterer [Bold American] so we had very little to worry about. The historical charm of the home is lost on no one and provided an intimate setting for our reception. I hope to attend another wedding or event there soon! Took a Saturday morning tour of Rhodes Hall, one of those places I drive by frequently and always think I should go check out sometime. Wow! It was such an interesting place and got to see all of it. The tour guide (and dang it can't remember his name) was so knowledgeable about the place, and the tidbits he told in each of the rooms really made the place come to life. From learning about the combination of gas and electric lighting in the front hall, to the 3rd floor it was time well spent. It is the home of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation so a fair amount of upper floors are used as offices now. The painted glass (nope, not stained glass) along the winding stairway was a highlight to see. If you're in the area, check it out. You not only see the house, but learn a lot about Atlanta a hundred years ago. Highly Recommended! read more

Let me start out by saying that this venue was absolutely perfect for the theme and size of our wedding; not to mention it is reasonably priced. Chrystal was mostly great to work with (we had small hiccups in sorting out the rehearsal but they were ultimately resolved). She was very helpful in answering all our questions and accommodating with meetings, including dropping our things off before the big day. We absolutely LOVE the event space overall. The bridal suite is beautiful, the rooms are so unique, the staircase OMG, and the dance floor out on the porch is so cool. HOWEVER. Rhodes Hall has 2 staff and a security guard present the day of weddings. Chrystal is not typically there, which is understood. The staff she did have present at our wedding were TERRIBLE. Fortunately, I was only aware of a couple incidents the day of the wedding. One of which being our exit which was completely ruined. We were rushed out and they didn't even open the front gate for us to go out. I was nearly in tears. We had until 9pm to end our event and until 10pm to cleanup and be out of the venue. After being literally pushed out, our Uber picked us up at 8:51pm. Meaning we were actually forced to call Uber even earlier. Everyone who stayed to cleanup couldn't have been there any later than 9:15pm. As the bride and groom, we had access to the tower with our photographer for a sunset session. This was discussed and planned for. Two separate people had to search someone on staff out and ultimately my photographer ended up calling one of them personally to ask if they could please unlock the door to the tower. His response: well you have to have an event to have access. To which she kindly reminded him that the event was the wedding. They took their sweet time to finally come unlock the tower, taking away time from our reception. Our coordinator informed me once we returned from our honeymoon: "The overall attitudes of the staff the day of your wedding from Rhodes Hall. They were not very pleasant, difficult to motivate to do things, and just didn't seem to care about anything but whatever they were watching on their cell phones in their office. I couldn't even get them to unlock the front gate to the exit." Additionally, the DJ: "As far as Rhodes Hall goes, I truly love all the people that are there on a daily basis. The 2 guys that were there the day of your wedding, on the other hand, were less than stellar. They did not seem to want to help anyone and annoyed when asked anything. They really only seemed to be interested in watching videos on their phones and rushing everyone off at the end of the night. That being said, I do not think their attitude effected the evening. They largely stayed out of sight from guest and I did not see them interact with anyone except vendors. I would just expect people that represent Rhodes Hall to very accommodating and helpful to everyone." My parents had similar complaints. Apparently, they remained in the office with the doors shut almost the entire time, with the exception of coming out twice to fill their plates with food. They were very difficult to find when we did need them. Chrystal has since been informed of all of the issues we had. I know she is incredibly disappointed in the staff that was present that day. I will conclude with: This venue is perfect for a small wedding/event looking for a beautiful back drop. BUT I would ask about the staff that will be present the day of your event. read more

We just had our wedding at Rhodes Hall last weekend and are so happy we did! Chrystal and her staff were extremely easy to work with. She responded quickly to my emails and questions, and came up with great ideas when it came to planning our reception. We had a small guest list (about 35), and it was the perfect size! With not knowing how the weather would turn out, we planned to have everything inside. We had our bar in the den, dance floor/DJ in the main room, and seated guests in the library and parlor. My husband and I had our sweetheart table in the parlor, as well as our cake on the beautiful marble table. The weather turned out beautifully and we were able to open the front door so guests could mingle on the huge front porch. One of the reasons we chose RH is for the history and beautiful decor inside. We loved the fact we didn't have to do much to decorate for our reception. Also, we took advantage of going up the tower to have our pictures taken. What a view of the city! read more

If you are looking to have your wedding here, DON'T DO IT!!! That is, if they even answer your phone call. Talk about false promises. Not only will you die from sweating to death bc the AC Is Ancient, but plan on getting eaten alive by the Mosquitos on the untamed dead grass and flowerless lawn. The condition of the lawn isn't even close to what the pictures show. The cake melted bc of the heat in the house. BTW, the guests were scratching their bug bites all nite! Don't even think about seeing your deposit again bc they will find any reason to keep it from you. And don't let those fake smiles from the employees and manager fool you, they could care less how your wedding turns out. GWhat a waste of Money!!! read more

I went to a wedding here last night and really liked the place. The building is beautiful, however it is old and only partially renovated. I was sad to see that there was hardly any furntiure in the house, and an office tucked into one of the old bedrooms. If the owner was Mr. Rhodes of Rhodes Furniture, I would expect to see some original pieces around the house. Also, there was nothing that explained the history of the house, which I would have appreciated because I love Atlanta history. Overall, I really enjoyed attending a wedding here. read more

I will forever look back fondly at Rhodes Hall as being OUR "Castle on Peachtree," it was truly a magical setting to get married in! We planned for our ceremony to be held on the lawn with the cocktail hour outside, a buffet dinner indoors, and dancing on the porch, and fortunately the weather on March 13th ended up being perfect so everything went exactly as planned! We had 117 total guests, and originally I was a little concerned of what our Plan B would be if the weather ended up not going our way (as only 100 people can be seated indoors, and March weather in Atlanta can be so wildly unpredictable) but everything went better than perfect! The building is so gorgeous, I can't wait until we get our wedding photos back! We had our engagement photos taken there as well, and they came out beautifully. Such a unique venue, I'd give it 10 stars if I could! Not much is needed to decorate, as the house itself already looks amazing as is. Chrystal Butts was very professional to work with throughout the planning process. We just got back from our honeymoon a few days ago, and our security deposit refund check was already waiting for us in the mail, super efficient. I had my wedding here in December 2015 and it was truly the most MAGICAL day of my life. This venue exceeded my ultimate expectations of what a wedding would be like. Chrystal was just the most amazing person to work with and was always willing and able to answer any questions or give any advice I might need. The estate is breathtaking and so many of my guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. I had 150 people and the weather was cold, but it could not have gone better than it did. No one felt crowded and the flow was amazing. My wedding was so beautiful and gorgeous! Thanks to the help of the staffs Chrystal Butts, Carla Penque, and everyone else. It was an amazing venue, unlike any other venues myself and other folks have been to. I researched 30 different venues around the area (Primrose, Atrium, Villa Christina, Garden at Great Oaks, Carl House, Botanical Garden, etc.) , and Rhodes Hall is just absolutely the best choice I have ever made to pick my wedding venue. Super romantic, intimate, and historical. Everyone enjoyed the venue and we went up to the roof top and the view was just amazing. Everything inside Rhodes Hall is so pretty and unique, especially the beautiful stain glass window so colorful and the staircase is just gorgeous. We like the different rooms, at first we worried that people won't be in the same room but it worked out perfectly because it was initiate and yet everyone feel close by. Everyone just mingle from room to room. The dance floor was great on the porch. Oh the bridal room is so spacious and beautiful. Everything looks so gorgeous. read more

Worst service ever. Beautiful place, we will have great pictures but not worth the hassle. Rhodes Hall Staff completely took advantage of us, lied to us, and were not helpful. I had to help break down my own wedding because the two "staff members " on site helping with the event were nothing more than teenagers who had an awful work ethic. Misleading information provided and totally screwed us over. Chrystal was nice at first until they received our money, all downhill from there. Terrible experience and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!! read more
