Spruill Center For the Arts

My wife and I just had our baby shower at the Spruill Center for the Arts in Dunwoody this past…read moreSunday. The shower was held in the lower-level Event Studio behind the library. The space was perfect and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. A big thank you to our hosts, who found the venue and coordinated and organized everything. The Education Center, which includes the Event Studio, completed an 8,300-square-foot expansion in 2024, so the entire facility around the library and arts center feels new. Location: Spruill was centrally located for our guests who were coming from North Atlanta (e.g., Alpharetta, Cumming), Northwest Atlanta (e.g., Woodstock, Marietta), Northeast Atlanta (e.g., Duluth), and Atlanta itself. Parking: There was ample free parking in a nicely paved surface lot shared with the library. Space: The Event Studio comfortably sat up to 50 guests. The studio has two garage doors that were retracted, creating a nice indoor-outdoor space. Tables were set up both inside and outside. There is a kitchen attached to the studio where food and drink were prepared, and where the hosts kept their belongings. The theme was a "Par-Tea" (golf and teatime, like high tea). It was really well done with self-serve food and drink stations. Adjacent to the studio is a green space where kids were able to run around and play. The hosts even set up mini golf there. Pretty cool.

The Spruill Arts Center is the place to be!…read more With so many forms of art to explore, from ceramics to theater and so much more thatyou can truly get lost in creativity and inspiration. Last night, I enjoyed my first Tai Chi class, held outdoors on the lawn. The instructor was precise and attentive, making sure we were getting into each pose correctly while maintaining our pace throughout the practice. I especially loved being outside, using my senses, staying present, and even catching a beautiful sunset along the way. This is one of Spruill's free wellness classes, offered on the first Monday of each month. What a beautiful way to bring wellness, art, and community together! Once again, the Spruill Arts Center reminds me that inspiration can take so many forms. If you're looking for a place to explore your artistic side, try something new, or connect with the community, it's definitely worth checking out their calendar for upcoming events.
