Came here on a Saturday for a family wedding celebration. This place is so charming and unique. I think it used to be someone's real home a long time ago as quite a few of the rooms on the interior are still sectioned off so you can see a living room versus a kitchen versus other gathering rooms. This place is super quaint really well maintained. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The wedding ceremony was done in the front yard, which was amazing and the back patio and backyard of the house was done for the cocktail hour and also post dinner gathering. This place was incredible had more than enough room for the wedding and really felt like home. I can see why this place is so popular and a huge attraction for weddings and celebrations. read more

We got married at Primrose in May and have nothing but great things to say. The service was especially excellent from Jessie, Phina, Megan as well as everyone else we interacted with. The venue itself is gorgeous and allows for a unique experience for guests with great photos around every corner. The food was fantastic and the bartenders did an exceptional job all evening. One of the best decisions we made was choosing Primrose Cottage as our wedding venue! The property is absolutely stunning and has such a timeless, romantic feel. The outdoor space is especially gorgeous, with the string lights, beautiful fountain, and charming gardens! One of the biggest benefits of Primrose is that so much is included. Their all-inclusive approach made planning so much less stressful. The Design Studio handled all of our florals, linens, and decor elements, helping bring our vision to life, and having a built-in coordinator ensured everything ran seamlessly on the wedding day. We also loved having separate spaces for the ceremony in front of the house, cocktail hour in the back, and reception in the ballroom, which kept the evening flowing effortlessly for our guests. I attended a wedding here. It is a lovely venue, although maybe not the most accessible for people with disabilities. My understanding is that it is a full-service venue. I thought that there were a lot of thoughtful touches that show that the employees know how to run a successful wedding. The wedding was in mid-November, and the evening ceremony was outdoors. The venue had space heaters and blankets available for guests, which was nice. The food was fine. The fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits for the cocktail hour were both particularly good. Everything else was fairly standard wedding food. There were two bars available, and the selections were limited, although that helped the line move! Dinner was a buffet, which is not my preference in general. Regarding my comment on accessibility: there's a long, unpaved driveway to the front door. There isn't an obvious place for people with disabled placards to park closer to the venue. To get up to the area where the ceremony was held there was no visible ramp or stair case, so you had to deal with uneven surfaces. And all I saw were narrow staircases thoughout the house to get to the reception site. Now, none of this was a problem for me personally, but I noted several older members of the family requiring significant assistance navigating the area. Maybe there was a hidden elevator or ramp, but I didn't see it. Just things to think about when considering a venue in a historic building. read more

I attended a wedding at Primrose Cottage and thought it couldn't have been a more appropriate venue. The cottage is located in downtown Roswell. It was built in 1839 by Roswell King, the city's founder, and is the city's oldest home. Primrose Cottage is a traditional Southern Antebellum home. The house is ornate and elegant. Each room is beautifully decorated. I enjoyed exploring the various levels and rooms inside the house. It's pretty much a historic estate. There are small placards throughout the house that describe the history behind each room. The cottage is three stories. Outside, there is a charming courtyard and garden. The wedding ceremony and reception took place inside, on the bottom level. While the setting is cozy and intimate, there was still enough space to hold hundreds of guests. At the wedding I attended, there were two bars and hors d'oeuvre (bread, vegetables, cheeses) stations. The dinner itself was buffet-style and consisted of rolls, pasta, meats (ham, turkey, chicken), Greek salad, and potatoes. The dessert tower was nicely presented and contained all sorts of delicious bites like chocolate-covered strawberries and chocolate mini-cups filled with peanut butter. Overall, the quality of the food was very good. Parking is free and easy. There are a couple lots on Mimosa Blvd. you can park in. One of these lots is located directly across from the cottage. You can also parallel park in any unmarked spot on Mimosa. read more

Primrose Cottage is truly a diamond among wedding venues. We searched dozens and visited 14 venues and Primrose Cottage stood out among all of them. I knew as soon as I saw the facility and stepped through the front door that THIS was the place for our wedding. When I brought my fiancé a few days later and toured the house she immediately felt the same way. The home has truly beautiful southern style and charm. Even more importantly the staff are the real super stars. 1) House - Primrose Cottage is truly a beautiful historic home with impeccably maintained grounds and gardens. The front of the home is perfect for large ceremonies. We chose the back patio and gardens for our wedding and could not have picked a more charming location. We were able to put lots of our own photos in the rooms off from the grand foyer adding a personal touch to the venue. Bridal Suite - The bridal suite upstairs was charming and perfect for the bride to prepare and enjoy time with her friends. Groom Parlor - We visited many venues that had no groom suite (pretty unbelievable) which was a deal-breaker. The parlor for the groomsmen was great. It allowed us to relax and have a place for final preparation. Having a TV to watch the football game was also a plus. Ballroom - The ballroom is spectacular. The full-length windows that make up the back wall bring in lots of natural light and the windows on the adjacent wall give beautiful views of the patio, garden and 4-tier fountain. There was plenty of room for dinner and dancing. Gardens - The gardens are truly beautiful! Not only do they provide an amazing backdrop for ceremonies but our photos taken there look like they belong on the cover of a magazine. 2) Staff - The entire staff for Primrose Cottage, A Divine Event and Magic Moments were a pleasure to work with. No request was too small. From my first meeting with Donna at Primrose to wedding day food servers, set-up and clean-up staff I felt that all were incredibly gracious. They did a fantastic job helping us to plan the event and provide catering through A Divine Event. Our wedding day director did a super job keeping things organized during the rehearsal and keeping us on schedule for the wedding day. 3) Food - The menu was provided by A Divine Event who provides catering for Primrose Cottage. The meal was a hit with all in attendance at the reception. There were a wide variety of options for us to choose from and we had an opportunity to attend an open house to sample some of the meal options before making a final choice for our reception. The reception dinner was fantastic! My wife and I thank the entire staff of Primrose Cottage for making our wedding a very special event that we will never forget! read more

My husband and I got married here September 6 2008. Primrose Cottage is a lovely little property, but wasn't our first choice in wedding venues. However, we were a little late in the game when it came to setting a date and finding a venue, and Primrose was the only place available for our date... Turned out to be a great stroke of luck! Catering, flowers, etc is all 'in-house', and they give you a day-of coordinator to help out the day of your rehearsal, and wedding day. Everyone is extremely helpful and eager to please throughout the whole process. I know a lot of brides don't want to deal with in-house anything with a venue, but with Primrose it really was wonderful, they truly lived up to all the other reviews I had read online. The food was *fantastic*, our flowers were more beautiful then I expected, and the coordinator was spot-on! Everything was carried on without a hitch, or if there were any, I certainly didn't hear about it! Have you been to a wedding(s), and the bride and groom looked harried and starved, because they can't seem to find a moment to eat? A great 'feature' they do, is while planning out the timing for your wedding and reception, they will set aside 10 or 15 minutes just for you and your partner to be whisked away to the upstairs bridal suite, where plates of food and drinks will be waiting for you. This was *such* a great thing to do, and we really appreciated it. **Edited to add** One thing I forgot to mention- when we left, they gave us a really lovely gift basket, and included some take-out boxes filled with food from our buffet. This was really awesome and very much appreciated when we arrived at our hotel afterwards, hungry but too worn out to consider going out or ordering food. I am extremely happy with everything Primrose provided us with. We are very laid back people and didn't care so much about whether our linens matched our invitations or any of that sort of stuff. Going in to decide on decor and flowers, we didn't really have a clue, just some vague, general ideas, but with their help managed to create a gorgeous atmosphere and flower arrangements. Just keep in mind that if you want that fairytale-magazine wedding here, your bank account, credit card, or wealthy benefactors should be prepared to take quite a hit. However they do offer more budget-friendly setups as well! Even if the style of Primrose Cottage isn't quite your cup of tea, the management company (Magical Moments) does have other properties you could look at for hosting your event. read more

Hey, I got married here! It's right off the downtown Roswell square area, and is a gorgeous old plantation type house. It's pretty much a picture perfect place to do your wedding or other event. Big white columns, manicured lawn, etc etc etc. It's a full-service joint, which means all you really have to do is show up with an officiant and they can handle the catering, the beverages, and the flowers, which we opted for (the only thing I was seriously concerned about was the DJ, which was way ore important - I AM a hipster douchebag, after all...) There was a little drama with the alcohol - I really wanted my brewer friend to whip up something special, but the liquor license won't allow that (and they took my best man's flask from him before the ceremony!) Really the only downside is that we felt like we were a little rushed through our experience. The event coordinator was just as pleasant as can be, but definitely kept us moving from photos to reception to dance to etc. etc. etc. Just as things were really starting to get great, they told us it was time to leave. Honestly, I was tempted to say "How much do we need to keep this place until everyone is satisfied?" but I didn't actually have my checkbook on me. That was kind of a downer. Overall, it is a picture perfect place to get married. Just don't expect to have too much control on the day of, I guess? read more

I visited Primrose Cottage last month for a wedding of two close friends, and I absolutely loved the event space. The wedding was held on a warm summer evening, and it was perfectly picturesque. An old Antebellum era home located in downtown Roswell, it has a beautiful gravel drive and large front porch area. They've since connected it to a formal dining room and banquet hall area with a large garden space and fountain adjacent. The ceremony was held outside in the garden and was just the right size for a small, intimate wedding. Light music was caught on the breeze and really created a welcoming space.Afterwards, the downstairs was transformed into a cocktail hour space with a bar area, gracious staff bringing around apps, and outside chairs and table for relaxing. The only negative was that it got a little packed since there were so many people in three smaller rooms. The banquet area was large and had room for various food stations and a dance floor in the front. It was managed well so that lines weren't preventing guests from moving around and you never had to wait long. Parking can sometimes be an issue if you don't know where to look but you can choose any of the parallel spots on Mimosa Blvd. or park in the church next door after 5 pm. read more

From the moment we entered Primrose Cottage it was like stepping back in time. It is a beautiful venue with an old southern feel to it. We were greeted at the door with fresh baked cookies and beverages that were delicious. Then, the guide took us on a detailed tour and explained the history while we marveled at the beautiful decor. The open floor plan makes it easy for guests to travel from the reception area into the many rooms in the house. They have amazing bridal and groom suites that take the bridal party's needs into account and a breath taking landscape make for great picture opportunities. Overall, my fiancé and I were very impressed with the charming, southern atmosphere of this gorgeous venue. It is definitely a top contender for our special day. read more

We had our wedding here in the spring. Pros: Beautiful, spacious yet intimate, great event managing on event day Cons: They will nickel and dime you to death Primrose Cottage was a lovely place to get married. There were all sorts of great reasons to hold a wedding and reception there, which is why we chose it. It has a great garden that's reasonably far from a road, they're a charming little house with a surprise huge ballroom. They've got a beautiful, ancient tree in the backyard. Great place. Plus, since they do pretty much everything, it's pretty easy to set up a wedding from afar (which we had to do). However, Primrose Cottage has this tendency to nickel and dime you. You'll be amazed at how many things are optional "extras." See that pretty rope cord decorating the staircase in all the photos? Well, they'll charge you $200 to hang it. Otherwise, they'll put it in the back room. Want some flowers in the urns out front? That'll be another $50 a piece, and God forbid you want a wreath on the door. Oh, and you're not allowed to supply your own decorations (except photos). Still, I'm giving Primrose Cottage a 4. Why? They're fantastic at throwing a wedding. They've done so many that they're almost scary good. During our wedding ceremony, it started to rain. The bride called out "everybody inside!" and I swear that somehow Primrose had moved the entire wedding, chuppah and all, into the reception hall in under a minute, and we had well over a hundred guests. It was unreal. They really, REALLY know what they're doing. I couldn't have asked for better service on the wedding day itself. So while I take 1 star off for the $200 four-hour rope rental fee, I still really liked them. read more

Amazing venue, great team, but the time does feel a little short.. but I've only gotten married once, so maybe that's how it always feels :) I would definitely recommend this to other brides, they do a great job, especially if you have a good idea of what you would like the end product to be, but not sure how to get to it. Any question we had was answered promptly and clearly. The food, the venue, and the service impressed all of our guests. We live in Roswell and we so happy that our daughter could marry in our church in our city and have an impressive reception venue so close by. My daughter and son-in-law had the dream wedding that they dreamed of and our family and friends enjoyed every minute of being here. I haven't been to Primrose for an event but we visited the property looking for a place for our wedding. Overall we were really impressed with the property. There were only two things that kept us from looking into the property for our wedding. First, they have an agreement with the church next door that they will not have any events before 2pm (I think it is 2, but maybe 1 or something) on Sunday. This makes sense in terms of noise and the fact that they use the church for extra parking. This was just a deal breaker for us because we want an early Sunday ceremony. Second, they are the exclusive decorators of the property and say over and over that the house is yours to use and decorate as you wish (of course, they will do the decorating but the choices are up to you). We wanted a mid December ceremony right around the time Hanukkah begins but were told they would have extensive Christmas decorations up that could not be removed. We were told that the decorations were general holiday decorations and not necessarily Christmas-themed but pictures proved otherwise. This problem is certainly not unique to Primrose but seemed odd given we would be paying so much for decorations we didn't want. Perhaps some people would see the Christmas decorations as a benefit but for a partially Jewish ceremony it just wasn't going to work for us. read more

We held our daughter's wedding at Primrose Cottage. They planned the entire event for two hundred guests and never missed a beat. The wedding planners are extremely efficient and professional, the facility is beautiful and very well maintained. Everyone was very easy to work with. They did an excellent job on the flowers, the cake and the food. Every single detail was attended to, nothing was left to chance. I received many thank you notes after the event, many stating it was the best wedding they had ever attended. read more

The food was OK and the servers were great. The management, however, was some of the rudest I had ever dealt with. In the middle of dinner the "manager" (a woman in her early to mid thirties with blonde hair) stopped at my table and accused me of illegally bringing alcohol into the venue. This was completely false, as there was an open bar. I poured my drinks (which I had got from the bar) into the wedding gift I received for being a groomsmen. She the proceeds to steal my gift from me, and after I confronted her about it she refused to give it back to me. I was forced to have a verbal argument with her, telling her I did not trust her to give it back (after stealing it) and I wanted my gift back right then. (It had my name on it and the year of the wedding on it). She put up a fight about it, and after refusing to give it back to me with water in it, (I was finished drinking alcohol by then) for some reason served me a beer with it instead, and proceeded to "cut me off" (I assume in a "power move" of sorts) for the night even though I was on my third drink of the event. I would not recommend this place based on how myself as well as other guests were treated by management. read more
