I needed a location that could accommodate the wedding ceremony and the reception. The Estate was able to do this effortlessly without sacrificing the beauty of the wedding ceremony or the fun of the reception. I loved planning my wedding at the Estate because it is a one stop shop: they did our flowers, decorations, linens, food, bar service, valet parking and our cake! As a busy bride, it is so helpful to not have to coordinate with numerous vendors. The artistry of the floral arrangements blew me away. The venue was a hit with our guests as it is an interesting building that allows the wedding to flow seamlessly from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. The venue is tucked off Piedmont Road behind a nondescript brick wall and gate. It is the kind of place you've driven past a million times and never thought twice about. Once you go through the gates of the driveway, you won't forget it. The landscaping and trees that surround the Estate make it hard to believe you are in the middle of Buckhead (we got some great outdoor photos). The main house is a historic antebellum home with a huge sun porch, chic interior design and beautiful art on the walls. There are at least 4 spaces for bars in the main house with a ceremony space and ballroom built off the side of the original structure. I'd recommend having your wedding here-- it was easy to plan with the staff at the Estate and the wedding was so beautiful thanks to their work.

Michele took my dreams and turned them into a beautiful reality! The flowers, linens, décor, etc. were exactly what I envisioned. She is so easy to work with and a consummate professional. John was an exceptional addition to Michele. He made sure things ran smoothly and everything was going as planned. Ernest, our individual server, was super attentive. Never once did I have to ask for a drink or bite to eat. I wish I could have him with me every day! The food was "the best wedding food we've ever had" and you have an enormous amount of options to choose from. The property was pristine and is obviously kept up nicely. If you are looking for a wedding venue where you and your guests leave saying "Wow! That was perfect. Everything ran so smoothly", then The Estate is the place for you. I never thought a wedding day could run so seamlessly, but mine did thanks to the staff at Legendary events and the Estate.

If you have driven much between Midtown and Buckhead, odds are that you've passed this castle-like house before. Parking is across Spring Street in a dedicated lot (underneath an on-ramp to the connector). You then just cross the street and are behind the home itself. We entered via the front door which faces Peachtree Street. Our tour lasted about an hour and focused on the architecture and history of the home. It was constructed early in the 20th century and has a lot of nice details (woodwork, light fixtures, wall murals, etc.). The tour does not include the upstairs (which is now office space for the historic trust that operates the site). It does include a brief visit to the basement, which is just an average semi-finished space. There is also a room with historical photos of the surrounding area - the shopping plaza that was built later and which surrounded the home on three sides at one point (only one 'arm' of derelict shops still exists). I recall when the Rhodes Theater was still in operation (showing older and/or cult films). I've driven by here countless times and it was nice to actually get an in-depth tour of the property. This is definitely worth doing once if you live in the area or have an interest in architecture.

So it was really an easy choice for my partner and I who married on Sunday, April 24th, 2016. We had 95 guests with our ceremony on the steps, cocktail and reception split inside and out so that the dance floor could be in the reception. It was a bit windy for the piping drape and urns so be certain you weight down well. Chrystal was a true joy, her experience with the venue gave her the knowledge to make great suggestions. While we did add florals and décor on the tables and mantels, we kept them in the feel of the home very lush and loose. We wanted people to explore the home the whole evening, not just for ceremony or dinner. We put the bar into the den so it was just off the dance floor (in the reception hall ) and would keep people flowing through the home even after dinner. She offered to work with us every step of the way and was always easy to reach when needed. I got my cake bar in the parlor with my 60" rounds plus sweetheart table and the rest of the guests were either seated in the library or on the porch. Dinner was buffet style, then we all returned for dancing and mingling. Several did mingle on the front and side porches, taking photos of the home, ceremony or photo backdrop. The day of is truly a whirlwind, the staff was on top of everything. I'm very hands on and they wouldn't allow me to do anything. = ) I too, returned from my honeymoon to find my security deposit check had been returned. It was even easy to pick up the cooler we realized had been left there about 2 weeks we later. I can't wait to see the rest of our photos as the peeks I've gotten have been amazing! I know I didn't get the chance to thank you all then, but I do wish to say THANKS! to each of you who helped make our day so very special!

The patio served as the setting for our ceremony, while the caterers set up the tables inside for our sit down dinner. The grounds are lovely, the staff is friendly and their rates are reasonable. A few slight limitations (amplified sound) kept the party in check but the evening was wonderful for dancing inside and socializing on the patio. The home is very photogenic. In front is a carfully manicured lawn and well maintained fountain, perfect for post wedding photos. The house has a couple floors and a back patio. After the very first viewing, we were sold (husband was as long as I was!). Based on what we wanted to do - travel themed party - it was perfect for my ideas. Katie and Andre were so hospitable from the start with the most thorough and detailed tour. They took their time and we never felt like a bother. Katie was gracious enough to also give my planner and parents a tour on different days. The house is something special with lots of space, a beautiful wrap-around porch, and a huge backyard. Given that we weren't sure how the weather would be, we used the indoors and outdoors. Ceremony out front and the party from front to back. Using the backyard enclosed patio as our homage to Cuba with cigar rollers. Our favorite space was probably the balcony compete with a swing that is off of the master bathroom upstairs. The rooms! That's what makes The Howard House stand out from most generic venues around the city. You can rent for the weekend for damn near the same price points others quote for a small time block. It's worth it. Fridays can be used for rehearsals and welcome dinners, Saturdays for the main festivities, and Sundays for brunch if wanted. This made for some fantastic memories for us and our families/bridal party. You can also just rent for the day if that's your jam. I can't say enough about how wonderful Katie is to work with. So responsive, engaged, and helpful. All the time. You cannot go wrong with The Howard House as a venue if you're looking for unique, maybe non-traditional (like us), or low-key.
