I…read morehad never tried one before, but I had heard great things about their food, so I decided to give it a try. The café is small but cozy, and they also offer a variety of baked goods along with several breakfast and lunch options. My sandwich was made fresh to order and served warm--it was absolutely delicious. The person who helped me was very kind and friendly, and even reassured me that I was going to like my choice (they were right!). I highly encourage everyone to stop by and support this small business. Thank you, Azucar Bakery and Café--I'll definitely be back for more as soon as I can.

I had to stop at The Fresh Market which is next door for a fruit platter. I could have easily bought sweets at the Fresh Market, but I wanted something a little more special. They are expensive, but taste and presentation is everything. Thanks to another Yelper for posting a review about Key Lime Tarts. My aunt from Ohio loves them and she is coming down for a visit. I had the lentil soup which was filling with rich flavors from the sausages and herbs in it. It was not thick and heavy and so I still had room for the creamy, cheesy empanadas. The empanada crusts were beautiful and flaky. My friend had the steak sandwich and fries. The steak was flavorful and tender and it had an egg on top. This second visit I wasn't sure what to get but the Barista/ cashier gave us pointers on which empanadas to go with. They have other food as well like protein shakes, breakfast, sandwiches, etc. Service is attentive, friendly, and very welcoming. I mean they must have thousands of little containers next door! Plenty of room in the store some hot food I thought for buffet @6.99 a lb. While they may have had a slightly larger selection of foods for the most part they are $1-2.00 a pound more then my home away from home The World Market. The toast was stuck to the paper it came in and wouldn't come off which ruined the bread. I went to the counter and asked for another toast showing them the issue and they gave me another order of toast that also stuck to the paper. I wish the bread was sticker, the ham tasted better, and there were more pickles. The pork, though, was good and the portion was generous for the price. All of their drinks are bottles or cans and they have Pepsi only, Gatorade, waters, and energy drinks along with some fresher/store made drinks too. I got a mamey smoothie and it was good, but I wish the flavor was a little stronger. I took home a guava and cheese pastry and a cheese pastry. Honestly, I found the fillings to be too little versus the amount of pastry and didn't really enjoy them. The inside is somewhat small with just a few tables along the wall. The staff were very nice and made our food quickly. When comparing this place to a similar one, like Vicky Bakery on Pines, I'd probably choose to go to Vicky's. The sandwich and plate foods are priced cheaper here at Cao but the prices for the pastries are similar and to me they taste better at Vicky's. Also, random, but their party platters are interestingly cut in my opinion. Why are they cut so thin? Barely half a bite's worth in each one. I will say, I came in during the afternoon, and a lot of the pastries were sold out so I'm sure they taste good to other people. Overall, not bad, not great, just ok.
