Doral Bakery & Cafeteria were do I begin... I found this place about a couple of years ago while looking for a local bakery City of Doral) to take pastries to business meetings in area. Place has a very clean appearance and display with limited amount of Cuban pastelitos, empanadas and croquetas aside from the usual flan, cheesecake and panetela borrachas. When I asked for box of assorted pastelitos I quickly realized that they didn't have enough to fill a box when baker came out of kitchen and said he would bake them and have them out in 15 minutes. True to his word 15 minutes later they were out of oven and into the box fresh and hot, so I decided to try one and it was shear delight. It was empty at the time I went being around 10:30 AM, there was still an assortment of pastelitos and other bakery food! Nothing looked like it was just sitting there! I am bringing back the Miami word "cagged". For those who are not familiar with this word, Urban Dictionary defines it as: a fusion of two widely used verbs in the English and Spanish language. Both being expletives, the nicest way to put what cagged means is "to mess up". Doral Bakery cagged it, bro. Being in HR, I have the wonderful task of planning the monthly birthday parties at work and this was one of the place I would go to buy the cake and pastries package. Parking is a mother, but I liked their pastelitos and they were close to work so this was my one stop party shop. That is, until today - when they tried to deceive me with these ridiculous sandwiches - making them pass for bocaditos. I have ordered from here before so I know full well they know what bocaditos are. It wasn't lost in translation. I've ordered here several times before. When the lady hands me these sandwiches, I ask her what they are and she says "bocaditos" with the look of guilt all over her face. No, these are NOT bocaditos, I say. Then she begins to say the paste for the regular bocaditos had not come in that day so.... that's it. No apology. She just slid me the bill as if to say "sorry not sorry". I continued to tell her all the ways they went wrong. The most important being that they did not call me to inform me there was no paste and that they would be altering my order. Hell, if they had been honest and contacted me (they had my number AND credit card info so it's not like they lost it), I would have been fine and just replaced them with more pastelitos. But no. They tried to slip one by me, without apology. Without remorse. Not a way to keep customers happy. Especially not this one. Will take my monthly birthday business elsewhere. read more
