Reyna's Bar-B-Q - Biscuits and gravy - Barbeque Near Me - Weslaco, Texas

We have frequented this location a couple times and I will say we are yet to leave disappointed . On this occasion we chose to come for breakfast and Wow ! Homemade tortillas were prepared as we briefly waited for our order. I chose two sausage and egg tacos with a side order of refried beans. My wife asked for a sliced brisket sandwich. Folks they did not disappoint. They tacos are so full I had to ask for an additional 2 extra tortillas (super soft ) yes I had a total of four tacos. I had to share . The brisket sandwich was spot on as well. This restaurant is extremely clean and tv's with sports airing which creates a great atmosphere. The food is delicious but what inspired me to leave à Five star review was an employee named Marivel . She seems to me as a manager ( because she cared for our satisfaction ) . This lady is amazing she greeted us with a much appreciated "Welcome" ! Her knowledge of the menu is what one would be impressed with and she works every facet of this place . From counter to drive thru to preparing sides and it seems as if most of the customers either know her or she knows them. This is quality customer service. She came by our table to make sure everything was up to her standards (very high) While the food is great tasting, it's about people like her that Care !' I've read some reviews that weren't favorable. Maybe it was a different crew or staff . Well not us and not today! Superior service , warm , fresh and great tasting food and hospitality that is unconditional . We're excited to possibly make this our weekly go to ! The menu is vast and so much to choose from. We'll be back soon. read more

Terrible smoked chicken sandwich, tasted as if it went from frozen to microwave. Very disappointed in the flavor. Pecan pie and banana pudding was unimpressive. Not going back. read more

We went to the new location in McAllen that just opened last week. I honestly enjoyed most of what we ordered. My brother and I had the pulled pork sandwiches with waffle fries. The pork itself was pretty good, wasn't the best but it had good flavor. I was disappointed in the amount that was actually in my sandwich. Especially compared to what my mom's chopped brisket sandwich looked like. The meat on her sandwich was piled on high. I liked that the buns were buttered and toasted. The waffle fries were delicious! They had good seasoning and were nice and crispy. We also ordered Mac and cheese. So I don't think by most people's standards, it was anything spectacular BUT it reminded me of the Mac and cheese we would order at Luby's and it was very nostalgic for me so I really liked it. The same goes for the bbq beans. They were sweet and reminded me of beans my dad used to make so I enjoyed those as well. I also ordered some of their jalapeño cheese sausage and I thought it was pretty good! It had a nice snap to it. Now on to the tortillas. Omg these were so good! Homemade! They had two ladies rolling them and cooking them right up front. Now I didn't order brisket but my mom ordered a chopped brisket sandwich but she doesn't like moist (fatty) brisket so when I tasted her lean chopped brisket it was DRY. I didn't care for it but she seemed to enjoy it and I suppose if you douse it in their bbq sauce, which was really good too, it probably wasn't that bad. So unless you love sauce, I'd be hesitant to order lean brisket. However, I've read reviews about their moist brisket being dry as well. I guess I'll just have to see next time around. I've read reviews on here about terrible service. This McAllen location just opened up so I'm sure they're still working out the kinks and trying to be quick and organized. We were prepared to wait and we did. About 25-30 minutes, which they warned us about as we were ordering. No biggie. I've also read about food being cold. Not an issue with us! My mom took a bite of my fries and they were pretty hot! The Mac and cheese was steaming as well! There were servers walking around, bringing people their food, asking if we had everything we needed and even brought us to go containers. Even though there were a ton of people, there were plenty of places to sit and we were able to help ourselves to condiments, which I love because I love snacking on pickles! The space was clean with workers constantly picking up and wiping down tables so that's always nice to see. The prices I think were fairly reasonable for it being a bbq place. Three of us ate for about 65 bucks! I'd go back and visit to try something different! read more

Reyna's Bar-B-Q - Moist brisket cut! - Barbeque Near Me - Weslaco, Texas

This place was great when it started. We went several times in the past couple of years and we ver happy with the service and food. Recently on our way back from McAllen we decided to pick up some brisket sandwiches and wings to go. WRONG THING TO DO. My sister ordered a moist sandwich and I ordered a regular brisket sandwich. The moist sandwich was extremely dry, my brisket sandwich had no taste. The meat on these sandwiches tasted like they had been cooked in a crockpot or oven. extremely dry and tasteless. They even messed up my wing order. I requested lemon pepper, nope no lemon pepper on them. They were some type of barbecue wings and dry, dry, dry. If you get your order to go, open the bag and inspect it before going home. Don't trust that what you ordered will be what you get. So sad, what started off as a great restaurant ended up now a mediocre or less quality food. read more

That was tasty. The employees are friendly Enjoyable dinner at reyna's read more

The first time we went it was great. Then we went a second time. And we started to get cold food .Especially the chicken I ordered a half chicken and it look like something from Loony too cartoon the lady the come out with a bonnet on her hair. She looks like a anorexic chicken And then I ate a little and get real bad diarrhea. Oh and the flys are all over the place disgusting nothing to control then . They place the garbage cans close to the food area. Never going back read more

Reynas bbq was pretty decent. I was say it's pretty much the same as Rudy's, but a little cheaper and a better seating arrangement. The meats I had were moist and lean brisket. Both were cooked very well and thought they were pretty good. Could have use a little more flavor. The pulled pork I thought was the best of the three. Seasoned well and tasted great. The mashed potatoes were really good...but tasted pretty much like standard mashed potatoes The downside I thought was the lack of bbq sauce options. Was only one and I'm fairly certain it was just cookies bbq sauce. The Cole slaw wasn't very good, was really dry. I prefer a Cole slaw like KFCs, personal preference though. I qtebwith two other folks and they both raved about the macaroni and cheese. One of them love chicken strips and really enjoyed the dinosaur chicken nuggets. They have a 15% military discount as well. I would definitely give this place another try to improve the rating. read more

Went to pick up an order, placed through Uber Eats, that was marked as ready only for the manager to tell us that they were out of food and we would need to cancel through Uber even though they had marked it complete on their end leaving us only with the option to cancel with a full charge to our account. After further discussion the manager then told us that there was actually food that they could provide (contrary to what they had previously claimed) but they wouldn't be able to assist with any refunds through Uber for unavailable items nor would the food be ready for an additional 30 minutes, time that we did not have. The store never made any attempt to let us know they would be unable to complete the order, nor did they make any attempt to cancel or modify the order with Uber Eats. After a discussion with the manager it was determined that we would need to escalate the matter to the general manager at which point the manager gave a number that was out of service. The matter has yet to be resolved to our satisfaction. read more

Went through the drive thru. Ordered the three meat plate. Two orders of brisket and one of sausage. Barely got any brisket.

The food was alright but the staff was horrible. We ordered and they didn't give us a number for our food and then gave us the wrong number. After we got our food the brisket was cold and they didn't give us our chicken wings and other items of our order. We were visiting from out of state wanting a nice BBQ and we were seriously disappointed with this establishment. Also for the tacos they only give meat nothing else unless you pay extra....disappointing. We will not return to this establishment ever. read more

The food was okay, most of it was cold when they brought it out to us. The customer service is awful! They didn't give us the chicken wings we ordered. They didn't give us a number with our order, when we asked about the number, they gave us a random order number which turned out not to be linked to our order. The manager was no help and rude. We will never order from here again and we do not recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

They don't answer the phone no matter how many times you call in. Try to place a phone order, can't get through, trying to correct an order placed online, can't get through. Surprised how good it was. Chicken was amazing and the Mexican sides were a nice touch.

We had one brisket plate with mac n cheese and charro beans. The second plate was brisket and Turkey with charro and corn on the cob. All of the meats were very tender and tasty. The beans and mac were good but it was what I would consider a sample size. I would give five stars if the sides were more than a sample size. read more

The food was good, but bad customer service. My boyfriend and I ordered the small family pack and apparently the price online is not updated even though I showered the manager the price. she didn't seem to really care and took a while to come to the register just to tell me about the price online not being correct and walked away. We still placed order, took it home and had to go back because they messed up our order. Again manager seemed to care less but did correct our order. No apology. Customer service is as important as good food, won't be going back. read more

Well I was in search of a good barbecue place and I was very disappointed. I asked for moist brisket and it was dry, flavorless and tasted funny like it was old. The potato salad was not much better, it had way to much mayo and not seasoned well. Their menu options are not unique. I have had the best most awesome barbecue in Austin and Houston and this was no comparison. Even Rudy's and Bill Millers would beat this hands down. Sorry will not be back. read more
