I interviewed 3 landscape companies, PM pricing was in the middle of the three but their service what above and beyond. They are a professional company with a structure that provides excellent service and management. A project manager arrived at my house, walked the front and back yard with me, I explained what I needed, they gave two options for weekly yard maintenance and advised on what they would recommend I do once a year (pruning etc). They have teams who work together and a foreman who checks in on the work. I loved the structure and communication. For just slightly more than I had been paying the other vendor, I received a significantly better service. Jorge and Jose do a great job keeping things tidy and green. They are on time, they aren't rushing to the next job, they have their system and they get everything cleaned up perfectly every week. In their first month, I had neighbors commenting aabout how nice everything looked! They understand what to trim back, how to keep the flower beds free from weeds, when to do a heavy water..... I don't have to worry about a thing. If I do need extra work, I send an email to their office and their foreman comes out to take a look, they provide and estimate and if it works for me, the work gets done quickly. I highly recommend PM Landscape, this is a fantatsic company and they an excellent system and they are worth every penny.

4-year-update: All the plants I have purchased from Rana are absolutely THRIVING. Also, I am very…read moregrateful to the Rana staff for their willingness to help me troubleshoot a few of the plants that got initially a slow start. (Turns out a few of the plants needed more sun. I had planted them in what I had *thought* was a sunny spot...but it was East-facing and Carmel gets a lot of fog. Later I transplanted them, at Pedro's suggestion, into the sunniest spot on my property, on a south-facing bank -- and voila. Problem = solved.) Zooming out a little, it's also worth keeping this saying in mind: "First they sleep, then they creep, then they leap." The reality is that drought-resistant CA natives can sometimes be a little more slow on the "leaping" process than common ornamentals because their energy will be going more into root production and establishing a symbiotic relationship with the soil mycorrhizae* during the first couple years. By year 3, all my plants from Rana had truly started LEAP and now they have graduated from drip irrigation and are their own self-sufficient beauties. The plants from Rana are truly top-notch. Go in with some foundational plant knowledge, and prepare to leave very, very, happy. P.S. *mycorrhizae = the fungal network through which most CA natives get much of their water. (It's one of the basics of understanding CA native plant ecology.) Even if you didn't know that, you should at the very least know the plants you want by their specific epithet (i.e. scientific/Latin) Name before attempting to shop wholesale. ________________________________ Dear other Yelp reviewers: Stop complaining about lack of labeling. The labels are indeed there, with at least one white label tag per each section of plants. It's not Rana's fault if you feel overwhelmed or if only know the Common Name of a plant and/or have no idea how to identify it visually. It sounds to me like maybe you shouldn't have been attempting to shop wholesale to begin with. Want to go buy some Toyon? The label at Rana (and just about all wholesale nurseries, for that matter) will read "Heteromeles arbutifolia." Toyon is just the Common Name. In other regions, people might call it California Holly. (One plant usually has several common names.) That is the wholesale nursery only uses the Scientific Name...to avoid ambiguity. So please, to those grumpy Yelp reviewers out there...how about you spend a little more time studying up on your plant knowledge, and a little less time complaining about a nursery who is simply doing things by the industry standard for wholesale?

I had my Artificial turf installed almost year ago and i've been…read moremeaning to post this review but had originally forgotten the name of company and then life kinda gets in the way too. I came across this company through yelp. I live in hollister and was is desperate need of turf installation since we'd gone an entire year with dirt after my dogs killed the sod we had installed in 2018. We were very skeptical with Artificial turf installation because of the dog urine scent that is noticeable in the summer days. We are have 2 dogs that usually hang in the backyard. I spoke to Eric and he was wonderful in explaining the turf installation process and basically said that as long as we clean the turf routinely the smell should subside. We've had the turf for almost a year and i've cleaned the turf twice. I use white vinegar and water And within a few minutes the smell goes away. Installation process was amazing. Hands down the fastest crew i've seen work. They arrived at roughly 9am and were done by 1pm. My husband also requested a channel drain to help drain excess water in the winter months and for anytime we clean the concrete. The crew wasn't familiar with the channel installation but did their best. We ended up with the deep olive turf and longer grass for easy dog poop mess pick ups. Thank you for giving my backyard some life.
