I live in hollister and was is desperate need of turf installation since we'd gone an entire year with dirt after my dogs killed the sod we had installed in 2018. We were very skeptical with Artificial turf installation because of the dog urine scent that is noticeable in the summer days. We are have 2 dogs that usually hang in the backyard. I spoke to Eric and he was wonderful in explaining the turf installation process and basically said that as long as we clean the turf routinely the smell should subside. We've had the turf for almost a year and i've cleaned the turf twice. I use white vinegar and water And within a few minutes the smell goes away. Installation process was amazing. Hands down the fastest crew i've seen work. They arrived at roughly 9am and were done by 1pm. My husband also requested a channel drain to help drain excess water in the winter months and for anytime we clean the concrete. The crew wasn't familiar with the channel installation but did their best. We ended up with the deep olive turf and longer grass for easy dog poop mess pick ups. Thank you for giving my backyard some life.

Being a first time homeowner is not easy. From landing the house and finding things to improve over…read moretime, my wife and I knew the backyard would be a very important space for our family, especially our younger kids. When we first moved in, the backyard was all cement, the grass was dead, it had mulch/tanbark everywhere, and the pavers were mismatched. While we had a temporary "fix" by removing the grass and installing turf, we knew we needed to go big. I went through countless hours of research, hesitation, and uncertainty for whatever reason, but I finally settled on a name that, after extensive research, felt like they would be the right fit for us. Enter Black Diamond! Stephanie Driscoll was our project manager and designer and Raul was the head of the crew that took on the job of totally revamping the entire backyard and the side yards. Stephanie was very easy to work with and loved the design that was initially proposed. Instead of trying to essentially price the job with higher quality materials or trying to add more where it wasn't needed, we were able to balance paver amount/variation for the pathways and borders so that it made sense both in design and budget. Needless to say, 4 months on, we are still very happy with how it turned out and how everything was done. We started the consultation/design process and contracting in December 2025 and broke ground in March 2026. Stephanie was patient in waiting for other projects to be completed since I also had to replace a roof, install new gutters, and repaint the whole house. By April 2026, the entire backyard looked as designed and blew my family away! Our friend and family complimented on how well everything was done and what a transformation it was. We actually enjoy the backyard a lot more now and so do our children. The pavers have held up very well thus far and most of all, it's safe for anyone to walk on. No sharp edges on the step-down that was installed, no tripping hazards, and no danger of water sitting and pooling in any one area. The rocks along the pathways complement the pavers and do well to keep costs low in the side yard as no one really hangs out on the sides anyway. Her design fulfilled our vision and the execution by her crew led by Ismael and Raul, made our dream come true. Frances (Black Diamond) was the only one of the three companies from which we received designs who was able to build 25 paver stairs and a walkway up the sand dune and create a platform for our view of the golf course and Monterey Bay. Frances and her crew were always punctual, responsible, skillful, considerate and professional. They were able to accomplish all we asked for. Black Diamond, with Frances as the designer and project manager, was definitely the right choice.

His guys did a great job on the backyard, but they never got to the front. When I asked Tommy about it, he said that the contract I signed was actually an estimate. Nowhere in the contract do I see the word estimate. It is an invoice. He told me he would have to charge me more to finish the front yard because he claimed that the price could change. He came back and finished part of the front yard, but charged me $150 for it. I am now taking him to Small claims court. I am hiring someone to finish the front yard, and then I will sue him in court for the amount that I pay the new gardener.

They did such a great job we hired them to do all of our common area landscaping. This year we had some additional problems with the irrigation system and plantings. Great improvement to my property. They've been servicing a property I own for about a year and a half now and I've been satisfied. At first they did a cleanup to get rid of the plants that weren't doing very well and trim the bushes and such, and now they come once every week to maintain the property and keep things looking good. Always seem to be good about replacing any plant that's dying and keep things trimmed nicely and clean up when they're done. read more

Tony's crew worked some magic and were somehow able to get that removed. They notify you by text and email, the day before they come out. Their invoices are automated and easy to pay online. They reply to texts and phone calls right away. I made the mistake of getting rid of this company, due to a misunderstanding on my part as to their billing cycles. They sometimes come out 13 times a year but only bill for 12 and I didn't understand that. After 4 months of using other landscapers, I went crawling back after I found out how good Pacific Landscaping is.

Pacific Landscaping charged me the same price even though the whole tree needed to be taken down and chipped. Their workers were friendly and efficient. They completely cleaned the area where they had worked, I was very impressed by this company and would not hesitate to use their services again.
