My friends, family, and coworkers worry about me and my yearning for this burger in my life. I think truly part of the reason why I wouldn't mind living in Philly is because of this burger. I'd argue that part of the reason I'd come back to Philly (and am planning on doing) is the food. This city has it on lockdown, and Luckys is in the top for me.

When I seen that Lucky's Last Chance won best burger 3 times I knew I had to try lucky's award winning PB&J burger. Walking into Lucky's, you're immediately engulfed with the iconic Dive Bar ambiance. This style option defines your experience, good vibe, good food. Our server was very friendly, fit the vibe, explained the menu and seasonal options well. As for the burger, patties cooked perfectly juicy. I must say, one would think that Peanut Butter does not go with burgers. This is an extremely wrong opinion, an old way of thinking if you must. Not really sure how to explain it, peanut butter was a perfect replacement for mayo. Drizzling the Raspberry jelly was truly the best way to go. Just as important, the bun was local and fresh, while holding up to the weight of this sandwich. I can see why this burger and Lucky's won best burger multiple times. If I ever have the luxury of visiting Lucky's Last Chance again. I may sneak in some Jalapeño jelly and give it a try!

House made, superior lightly truffles cheese sauce is what whiz wishes it was. Very rich. You may want to share. Fries are $7 but large portion -- also share. Live that they have great quality beverages to match great sandwiches. That is, Maine Root sodas (LOVE the Sasparilla) or Joe's iced tea. (I like black, unsweetened to balance the richness of the sandwich.) Cozy but comfy seating with raw real wood banquets and tables. Even when crowded, a table will come available by the time your order is ready. Good turn over. Pleasant, helpful staff. Order from the back, pay, seat yourself, and they'll call you up or deliver to your table.

We opted to dine in. You pick your own seat and then order via the QR code at the table. They'll bring you water and napkins if you don't want other beverages. We opted to split their signature cheesesteak with truffle wiz and a kale Cesar salad. The cheesesteak was just fine. The truffle wiz was very overpowering. The first few bites were great and then as you're working your way through the rest of the sandwich, it becomes almost too much. The meat also wasn't as good quality as some other spots we visited on the trip. Service was great though.

Well, they have a very good beer selection…read more I am not Philadelphia bred but I do know what I like in a cheesesteak. And based on the countless top 5 lists for Philly cheesesteaks, this neighborhood spot doesn't place. A group of us ordered a variety of sandwiches off the menu but most were what they're known for: steak sandwiches. When I asked the server to "make mine like a local" it came to the table on an okay sesame hoagie roll (no Amoroso) but there was no cheesy moisture (minimal provolone), some grilled onions and dried out beef-like it sat out on a window sill. The onion rings were overpriced for frozen rings that were deep fried too long. Others in the group also expressed similar disappointment and repeatedly mentioned dry, tasteless steak. Service was good and the servers were friendly. But they couldn't help fix the dry cheesesteaks. Thank god for the very good selection of beers.

Yes I'm reviewing again 9 months later- BEST Chicken Cheese Steak in the city (I don't eat red meat…read moreso I can't review the regular). I'm a local, trust me!!! I get fried onions, long hots and cherry peppers on the side with a seeded roll and cooper sharp. And to top it off, it's always fun in there. Great bartenders and servers, amazing beer selection etc. great atmosphere. fun to watch sports games too! Dog and kid friendly, has several outdoor areas too
