What can I say..but a fine surfboard shop...a fine surfboard shop…read more Been to many surfboard shops since the early 80's. Never encountered this kind of epic service. A friend and I chatted with Blinky for about 20 minutes. He broke down and explained a lot about board design. What a treat. He's been doing this so long and he's still stoked and friendly. The rest of the staff were also very friendly. Amazingly a yelper below complained because they don't have enough apparel and bikinis. How ironic is that? There are hardly any real surfboard shops left, since most shop floor rooms are covered with "apparel and bikinis", which carry higher profit margins than surfboards. That person should visit one of Socal's many fine mall surfboard shops and they'll find all the bikinis they need.

The owner Marty is amazing, friendly, funny, knowledgable, insightful, and has great surfing stories to tell. His son is just as nice and you can see him out near the local break teaching. Sometimes you can pull a "Bridesmaids" and get close enough to learn with ;) hahaha My times learning last year with my best friend and her then boyfriend were definitely made, especially with the help from Marty. They were the first ones that discovered this little gem and have passed on the little secret to me. This shop has everything. When I needed anything even though at the time I lived in Hollywood, my best friend and I only trusted Marty and his spot. He's always lookin' out for the surfers and if you go enough he offers his parking space in the back if there are none on busy days. He helped me find my second board when I was ready, letting me rent out different boards until I found "The One". This little gem has made an impression in my life the way surfing has. Beginner friendly and he added to my experience with my first time surfing. I will never forget this shop and I hope this shop is around for a long time so I can take my kids here. From the start, she was rude, combative, sarcastic, and unnecessarily aggressive throughout the entire process. Instead of simply helping resolve the issue professionally, I was met with attitude, condescending remarks, and an overall hostile demeanor that made the experience far more difficult than it needed to be. As a customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism -- especially from a company that prides itself on customer service and brand values. The exchange itself was straightforward, yet Maddie handled it in a way that felt confrontational and unwelcoming from beginning to end. It honestly left a terrible impression of the store and the company overall. After being a customer for nearly 30 years and a brand ambassador for this company, I truly never expected to be treated this way. If this is the type of people Patagonia chooses to employ to represent their brand, I do not believe I will be moving forward with purchasing their products in the future. We appreciate being able to get a bicycle or surrey when away from home as it is a pain to bring…read morebicycles. First time only four person surrey was available so we took it. We had fun, got a workout and that machine is larger and heavy. Yesterday we got the two person surrey and it was better for the two of us. It is so fun riding along the little beach roads, and having a roof keeps the sun off us. We at first wanted two hours, but one hour was just right. Every time we come to the Ventura beach we will be back. Thanks to the employees and Wheel Fun Rentals for a fun time.

After an outstanding e-bike experience in Lake Tahoe (with Vista Trail Bikes) just a few weeks…read moreearlier, we decided to rent two e-bikes from Wheel Fun Rentals at the Ventura Pier. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst rental experiences I've ever had. The problems started before we even left. The bikes had to be swapped out due to mechanical and maintenance issues while we stood waiting. Once we received functioning bikes, there was no safety briefing, no route guidance, no discussion of local riding conditions, and no meaningful instructions beyond handing us the bikes. What was most alarming was the complete lack of concern for customer safety. My wife's seat had been adjusted too high. Within approximately ten feet of leaving the rental area, and in full view of three employees, she lost balance and fell directly onto the pavement. Not one employee came over to check on her, offer assistance, or ask if she was injured. Nothing. Despite this, my wife wanted to continue riding, so we attempted to salvage the experience. The bikes themselves were poorly maintained, and our confidence in the equipment and operation was gone almost immediately. My bike kept changing E levels throughout the short ride. We returned the bikes in less than two hours despite paying for a four-hour rental. When asked how our experience was, I honestly replied that it was terrible. The response? "That's too bad." No concern. No questions. No apology. No attempt to understand what went wrong. From the condition of the bikes to the lack of safety procedures, customer service, and basic human concern, this operation felt careless and unprofessional from top to bottom. I would never rent from this location again, and I certainly would not feel comfortable bringing children or inexperienced riders here. There are plenty of places to rent bikes. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend choosing one of them instead.
