Revolution Cycle has a wide selection in all kinds of bikes, but their prices tend to run quite steep. My issue isn't really with their prices, since most new bikes will cost you a bit. The service was good, but I felt it slowly slipped the longer we were there. The sales guy who helped me was kind enough to run and get me a few bikes to try out in the parking lot, which I appreciated. But he got a little pushy towards the end and I felt harried to make a decision, and I hate feeling like that when I'm considering a big purchase. I was mainly looking at bikes around the $600-$800 range, and no more than that. For some reason he brings out a brand new 2011 model for $1200 in the end. Maybe he was trying to be helpful and give me more options, maybe he felt I was a ripe customer and thought he'd get a few more bucks out of me. All I was thinking was, "Dude, if I'm unsure about spending $800 on a bike, what makes you think I'm willing to pay $400 more?" They were willing to drop 10% off the newer bike, but I was kind of frustrated with making a decision at that point. All in all, Revolution Cycle has a strong selection in good quality bikes, but the service is more about making the sales rather than really being there for the customers.

I ordered a Parka, as a gift, from MEC's online Black Friday sale on November 29, 2024. Having…read morebeen in the Edmonton south common store a few days before, and observing many in stock, the deal was too good not to order. As I placed my order, it indicated that the downtown store was "Next Day Pick Up". Given that I wanted to pick up as soon as possible, I selected the downtown store, even though the location is terribly inconvenient for me. Approximately 24 hours later, I called the downtown store, whom after about 25 mins on the phone with various people, told me they had no record of the purchase. Of course, I couldn't go pick up the jacket, the next day, at a location that was inconvenient, because MEC hadn't even processed the Order as of yet. Great. I called the customer service line and spoke to a male who told me "this sale has caught us completely off guard and we're overwhelmed". No kidding?? The male told me that there had been staff cutbacks this year, due to how slow it had been, but suddenly the sale has regenerated sales that have overwhelmed the existing employees Ok ... the spokesperson then told me that my jacket was in Winnipeg and had to be shipped to Edmonton! What is going on here, MEC?? You hold a Black Friday sale and you're overwhelmed??? Then my next day pick up, at this inconvenient location, is in Winnipeg??? The kicker is December 16, 2024, I received an email from MEC telling me that my order has been cancelled. My goodness. I've been a supporter of MEC for over 25 years, and have never seen such awful customer service or a absolute lack of responsibility in fulfilling an order - for that matter, I don't think I've ever had a more disappointing exchange with any store, ever, than this experience. I will never again shop at MEC. Shame on you, MEC. Not the MEC I once knew

I bought a Suuntu compass from them in 2015. It sat on the shelf for years and was in pristine…read morecondition. It developed a huge bubble and the declinometer stopped working. I took it to the Edmonton store downtown. The manager was sympathetic but refused to exchange it, despite suuntu having a lifetime warranty. Take your business to Amazon or somewhere else.

We went for specific shoes and were brought multiple other shoes and only one in a size close to being what we asked for - close being a weird thing in reference to asking for a shoe size. Anyways. We felt like we were begging to buy something. Is it your shops practice to not offer other sizes other options for ordering or the correct thing? I was met with the feeling "we are done here" or maybe confusion? every time I asked for help to buy something. I wanted a helmet, maybe a water bottle holder, some shit to spice my spin bike. Let me? As a business owner this would be discouraging to hear, especially with covid - but we literally have to buy elsewhere as your associate gave us zero options for a product YOU SELL. I just had my e-bike serviced at Hardcore bikes ........very impressed. I had used the service of…read moreanother bike shop but ended up having issues with my brakes rubbing. When I asked the other bike place about it they told me that's just the way my bike is. Well it took all of 2 minutes for the staff at Hard core to recognize the rubbing and they said they would take care of it. They did and my bike is riding so smooth no rubbing and the noise is gone. Thank you Hard core I will be taking my bikes to you from now on.
