brought my bike, which i bought used & which had recently developed some problems, in for their minor ($80) tune-up, and some other repairs (something to do with the pedals & the rear-wheel quick-release was broken).
The bike mechanic told me it would be ~ $110; anymore, and he'd give me a call before proceeding.
This was on a Tuesday, maybe an hour before they closed. He had warned me that it might take a few days to work on the bike because they had been particularly busy that weekend.
Thursday, around 6pm, he gave me a call, saying that the bike needed a lot more work, and, in light of how much said work would cost, asking me if I really wanted to go thru with approx $200 work on the bike rather than buying a new one.
I really respected his opinion and honesty; and after talking to me for a while, I decided to go ahead with the $200 in repairs.
The bike was ready for pick-up on Saturday. It was exactly the price he said ($200) and apart from not replacing the quick-release with another quick-release, all the work done on it was excellent. Thus far, the bike has never run as well. Would definitely recommend them and will return for future service. read more
