OBSERVE & REPORT
Andrew at Leslie's Pool in La Crescenta recommended (referred) me to this business, as many of their customers would prefer to avoid emptying their pools every 5-7 years and refilling with (hard) City Water.
So, I inquired by phone on Wednesday, 19th of January as to the nature of their pool water purification process and what the price would be for my pool ( less than 15,000 gallons). Nobody answers the phone live, so I left a brief voice mail message, as instructed in His taped message.
Reverse Technologies owner ( Douglas Fritz Brown ) returned my initial phone inquiry on Friday evening, the 21st of January. Initially, he seemed personable and his quote was fair but still relatively expensive. This service even includes the chemicals necessary to rebalance the water once its purified.
The (current) owner did tell me "this is a side venture to augment his main business, which is pool construction". ( He then is obviously a contractor. However, I could NOT find the name Douglas Fritz Brown listed as a State licensed contractor on the State of California Contractor's Board Website). However, He did register his business with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on Jan. 27, 2017.
Fritz answered my brief questions and even scheduled an appointment to provide the service beginning on the morning of Jan. 28 into Jan. 29, as necessary (depending on how long it takes to purify the pool ).
Specifically, He scheduled an appointment to arrive at my residence between 7:00AM -7:30 AM today, Friday January 28. I had no further contact with Reverse Technologies since last Friday.
So, I expected him to stick to his appointment, but alas, he neglected to show-up at all today. Moreover, he did not even give a courtesy call as to why he might not make it as planned or to possibly reschedule later-on. I have to say this a strange way to conduct any service business. Records show Douglas Fritz Brown is also co-owner of Pool Maintenance company "Living Water" located in La Canada, Calif. along with his brother Caleb Brown. No follow-through of any kind from Brother Fritz whatsoever here! Most inconsiderate. So, in-response He 'earned' this review, as it is (the truth).
Fritz just "dropped the ball" with no reasonable explanation on His part. He failed to respond to a second phone call by me regarding this business matter this past Friday, Jan. 28. Fritz apparently has some kind of (memory) "problem". (Too many Covid inoculations ?)
Obviously, Fritz seems to be a rather poor communicator at the very least and possibly a bit disorganized, as well. Hard to tell what exactly is going-on over there. His business phone only takes messages and he decides if and when he will return incoming calls. In my experience, he does NOT pick-up the phone in real time. ( I can see why: control).
Therefore, I can NOT in good conscience recommend the services of this business, Reverse Technologies, a.k.a. Reverse Osmosis for Pools, due to the current owner's inability to stick to his word. In-addition, I suspect the business founder, Douglas Fritz Brown, ( Fall 2015) may possibly have sold this business to a less conscientious operator ( a Flake ?), although public records do not support this possible explanation. read more
