Operates by appointment only (easily made online from his website) which is actually outstanding as it assures you can get in and out in a half hour or less from start to finish, rather than being luck of the draw on crowd. He can be quite booked, but I can usually find an opening fairly quickly unless it's just before a holiday. Have been coming here for a few years now when other shops became more inconvenient with their hours, etc. Always a great conversation to catch up with what's going on in life as well. Highly recommend. He takes cards with a small fee but worth the convenience. If that's a concern bring cash and save the fee.

Needed a quick haircut on a day off from work and ironically needed to fix the last bad haircut I…read moregot. This is one of the worst haircuts I have ever had in my life. Nothing I said was listened to. My hair was cut shorter and shorter until basically it's an uneven buzz cut. On top of that after I was already in the chair I heard two employees openly bitching about a customer who had just walked out the door. I requested a cut with a four on the sides and the clipper length at the end is closer to a two, and this happened fast before I could stop anything. I wasn't asked how I wanted my sideburns, they were just cut uneven, and near the beginning of the haircut which is odd, usually this happens near the end. I wasn't asked how I wanted the hair above my ears cut, two uneven white sidewalls. Hair just fell in my face and I sat like that with my eyes closed for about five minutes until the employee drops his comb and I brushed all of that hair out of my face with my own hand. I asked for care to be taken near my temples and they were buzzed to the scalp, and this will take six months to grow back. The only thing I was asked before being butchered was whether I wanted the back rounded or squared. I asked for it to be rounded and natural and now I have one side which is rounded and one side which is square which I have to try and fix looking into a mirror backwards while sitting on my own sink. I don't often nurture petty feelings in reviews but I hope to god this place goes out of business.

This barbershop could have a reality TV show all of its own there and they like to have fun and cut up - pun intended. The owner always has donuts, some type of candy and stuff for the children and they keep it clean for all guests. I've seen this place packed with about 30 chairs full of people waiting and people standing and only being on about an hour or so wait. The barbers in here really take pride in their work, their clients always come back and you become a regular and involved in conversation very easily in this fun, laid back atmosphere. If you are not a million percent happy with your barber, go to Avon barber shop, ask for Zach, tell him Josh Davis sent you and experience the difference of why I will drive across town to go to Avon barbershop, you'll be glad you did! The do a lot of outreach and help with children in the community, seriously, a big group of awesome barbers who are awesome people.

So I turned my back to get money from the ATM BECAUSE THEY ONLY TAKE CASH, and when I turn back, my son is halfway to a CHILI-BOWL HAIRCUT!!! At this point, it was too late to do anything. My son was so upset when we left that he was in tears. In addition to all of this, apparently the "adults/barbers" in the room didn't seem to care that there was a child in their establishment and continued on with their "adult conversations" with no regard to my son hearing them. We will never be back and will most definitely NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!! ONE PISSED OFF DAD!!!

While waiting for my appointment at Roots Hair salon, which is in this same strip of stores, I decided to go down to the barber for a nice, clean straight shave. I supposed I should have asked the price first and then been weary of a $7 shave (which is commonly closer to $30 at finer establishments), but I just got in the chair. The barber proceeded to do the hot towel business and everything was just as it should be. Then the trouble began. I'm guessing it has been far too long since he had his blade sharpened, because he massacred my face, specifically my neck. I have a very coarse beard, but I had shaved within 24 hours so I only had a 5 o'clock shadow. When the torture was over he said "this is going to be a bit spicy" and loaded me up with after shave. (Young ones cover your ears because this review is getting vulgar.) FUCK. spicy is an understatement. Then he said "a bit of razor burn" and gave me a mirror. I the went back to the salon for my hair cut and sat with a cold towel on my face for an hour. The pictures don't really do the damage justice. It's been a day and I'm still in a lot of pain. I probably won't be able to shave for a week. NEVER GO HERE. NEVER.
