The quality is unparalleled, but hands down I fell in love with the Vixen shop because of their sweet, lovely shop manager, Lisa. She is so warm and welcoming - has gone above and beyond to help me find the right size and encourage me to try new styles. She is absolutely the sweetest. I'd say I'm going to miss her, BUT I heard they will be opening a new store for their sister brand, La Femme En Noir, that Lisa will also run. Let me just say: she BETTER! To me, she is as iconic to the brand as Micheline herself! These gorgeous clothes will surely be missed, but I'm truly hopeful that the closing of the Vixen brand, will be an expansion of LFEN. It has absolutely been a beautiful experience while it's lasted, and thanks to the incredible workmanship of the Vixen brand, I am confident I will continue to enjoy my amazing frocks for years and years to come. It was easy to navigate almost all the aisles. There are already so few remaining options for plus-size shoppers who want to shop in person, which made this experience, though small in the grand scheme, especially disappointing. I was the only customer in the store with two sales associates working. The store was already straightened up and it was clearly a slow period, yet I wasn't greeted when I walked in, wasn't acknowledged while browsing, and even let myself into the fitting room, and exited without anyone saying a single word to me. I know they saw me because I made eye contact with one of the associates when I came through the door. I also recognize this may not be representative of the store as a whole, and perhaps I just visited during an off shift. Even so, every customer deserves to be acknowledged. My hope is that management shares this feedback with the team, not because I expect over-the-top service, but because I feel as though these associates failed to meet the bare minimum. For many plus-size shoppers, stores like Lane Bryant are among the few places where we can still shop in person. I think it's important that people recognize the impact of making plus size customers feel invisible in a space that is explicitly for them, that exist in a landscape (retail or otherwise) where plus size people are already preferred to be invisible.

As a recent breast cancer survivor who went through a double mastectomy, shopping for clothes can already feel difficult and emotional because my body has changed so much. A simple welcome or 'Can I help you?' would have meant a lot. Unfortunately, I left feeling ignored and discouraged.
