My wife and I come to the fashion district in Los Angeles quite regularly, and she absolutely loves this place. We first discovered this spot about 3 years ago, and since then it's now a tradition to stop in so she can browse the inventory. They specialize in offering clothing for women that have "more to love" (my words not theirs aka plus size) I only know of the 2 same ladies that we see every time we visit and they're the best! At times my wife can be very shy and uncomfortable when shopping for herself and it was so heartwarming to see how patient and helpful they were with her. It also made her feel so special. Since that 1st visit we've returned several times and she loves their selection of various dresses and blouses in all kinds of colors and styles. We make it a point to visit often because they're always adding to their inventory. I had researched big girl stores in LA before flying out there. Thick seemed like the best one to start with. The reviews had stated that the service is excellent. I can confirm. I have a formal wedding to attend next month so I went looking specially for a dress. I only needed to try on 3. Pilar is fabulous at putting outfits together. I also bought a pair of the grooviest jeans and a couple of blouses. I even returned & bought the same jeans in black. I appreciated not being pressured to buy. Pilar took into consideration my body type & suggested what would complement me. I wish I could always take her clothes shopping with me always. Another awesome feature is the tailor is next door. I would give this store a 10/10 i was on santee street to find a dress for my husband nephew baptism and its out of state. I am also 16 weeks pregnant and its so hard finding a dress for me. so as i was walking i saw the store THICK just see what option they would have i went into the store i was greeted by a lady i explained my situation and i need a dress lol shes like no problem i will help you out. She picked out for me a couple of things i tried them on and i told them the style that i like they really helped me out so i found my dress!!! I had been in about 10 stores on Santee when I seen a store THICK Fashion. I went in knowing I wouldn't find anything. I told the saleslady Pilar I needed a dress for my 70th Birthday Party. Her service was impeccable. I tried on several dresses and she would give me honest feedback, I loved her suggestions on what i should wear for instance 1 dress I tried on she said you look like you are going to attend the party but its not your party. Pilar gave excellent critiques. I wound up purchasing a Beautiful dress and an undergarment to accent my curves. I was also pleasantly surprised at the Price. This is my store from this Day on. Yup, I'm hooked. Where else can you go (speaking as an middle aged XL sized) and find not only clothes that fit, but cute trendy clothes that'll probably never go out of style, good quality- not typical cheap sweatshop made, much better than Macy's and yes prices aren't that low, but you get what you pay for & if taken care of properly, last longer. The owner and her assistant are super nice, give you encouragement and ideas on how to wear the tops & spanx like leggings. You can use her iPad to pick out what you like & she'll get if for you. Dressing rooms are roomy, but you'll have to come out to the ginormous mirror outside dressing room to see how you look. The locations not bad, your on the other side of the newer part of Santee Alley, you can find street metered parking easy on LA street or parking lots nearby and walk, it's very doable. If your plus sized - this is your place! To look great, and even sexy but never feel frumpy or unstylish. If your not plus sized, but fashion daring, check it out their Instagram page to see how the owner - who is not plus sized, rock it! In the very clothes she carries in her store, she looks so cute in them & reassures anyone you can work it no matter what size you are. I work not too far by it, not close enough to go at Lunch, but it's on the way home- so I'm a fan, I see cute tops on their IG & I literally swing by quickly, grab my favorite likes & I'm out going home, how good does it get? This is my Mom's favorite place to shop for clothes. It's a specialty store that sells clothes for bigger women. The smallest size they carry is a 1X. The owner does a good job of selling her product and makes everyone who walks in feel attractive. They clothes is pricey, most clothes sold here is about $30. Plus there are fans in the dressing room.(BONUS) The prices are typically what you would pay in other department stores such as Torrid or Lane Bryant, this store definitely targets to a younger crowd. I just happened to park in front of this store, and decided to look in. A dress on one of the mannequins caught my attention because it was a dress that kept popping up on my Facebook feed. I told the lady I would be back after I went to look for what I went down there to look for. She was not rude or pushy, she just said "it will be here when you come back". Almy and Pilar are great! Very friendly and they have great recommendations for clothing that fits your body type. I stopped by once and fell in love with a blouse but i didnt take it at that moment. Came back today and told myself i wasnt going to walk out without it a second time. I also walked out with high waisted leggings. I was hesitant about the leggings but i took a chance and took there word for it. I got home and tried them on and they fit perferctly.Very comfy. I am about a 10 on top and a 16 on the bottom and this store was perfect for me. It is plus size, but barely. And the clothes are not plus size fashions... girls like me get left out a lot. We don't really need Lane Bryant or Torrid, but Express doesn't always cut it. Pilar was amazing, she talked me into some leggings I liked, but was afraid to buy (I couldn't try on this particular style in the store). Let me just say I got home and put them on and she was right! They are amazing, so much so I am going back my next day off and buying at least 3 more pairs. And an extra in black bc I never want to be without them... the best part they are $20. I am a snob- I like quality, nice fabric, double stiched seams, finished hems, wide waist bands, etc. They have some very average "made in China" stuff, but they also have some high end stuff... namely those pants! Pilar also made me try on this shirt/dress thing I NEVER would have tried... and again she was right! I love this place and Almy is the best! I have been going to THICK for over a year now and have yet to be dissatisfied with their customer service skills or products. Almy and staff always make me feel welcomed and by now they know my taste. So much that they know which items of clothing to give me to try out, knowing I am going to like them. Being a heavier size, at times it can be a struggle to find "in" clothes but they have a great variety here. They also have industrial size fans in the fitting room. I came here on a Saturday after trying so hard to find clothes that can fit me. I tried many stores who only run up to size large I was devastated. Right before we were leaving we ran into this store and the girl that helped me was absolutely wonderful, she knew exactly what I liked and my size! I was on limited time since I had a party to attend but she gave me a whole new wardrobe fast. I was only expecting to come out with an item or 2 but I went all out and bought my self about 3 outfits. I do not regret it all! As a women who wears 2x it's nice to finely see clothes in my size and style I actually love. The quality of some leggings I bought are amazing. Not see through at all and great material.
