My sister and I went shopping here for the first time ever on Sunday (Oct. 22). Thought we would have a great experience here but the unprofessionalism of some staff made us think otherwise.
Initially, we went to another branch in Santa Anita. My sister took a picture from the Zara website and asked one staff for assistance. The staff that we asked for help (in Santa Anita) was super nice. However, they didn't have the size we looked for, therefore, she directed me to another store, the closest one happened to be at FigAt7th. Here, the disastrous customer services began.
The first two staff that we encountered showed his and her unwillingness to go the extra mile for the customers. We showed them the exact same picture we did at the previous mentioned location. Then, the female staff went straight up dismissing us, saying that without the Reference number, she wouldn't be able to help us. Next, the male staff pointed at the dresses in front of him, which the color was not even close and asked if it was the one (we were asking for the blue dress here and you pointed at the green ones. Great!).
One thing that we forgot to include was to photograph the Reference Number, which made the process a bit more difficult. However, the staff at Santa Anita location was more than happy to help us. At this location, they didn't even try. That's why we moved on to the Fitting Room section. And here, I bumped into the same lady that dismissed us earlier. This time was much worse since, besides her, there were her whole CLIQUE.
Of course, as educated individuals, we asked for their help properly. Again, they formed as a group of three (a staff who wears the 'Dennisse' necklace, an African American lady, and a short hair lady with a clip on her bangs, yellow tip hair - from now on I'll address them as the CLIQUE) and dismissed us. With just a few scrolls on the search device on their phone, they told us that: "With thousands floral dresses online, we couldn't help you if you don't have the Ref. Number." One of them, an African American staff, raised her voice, shut us off by saying: "You gotta have the Ref. Number! Or else, there is no way we can find it!" They kept ignoring us, until one of us found the dress on our phone. We felt extremely offended. We thought those behaviors were not much of a difference from the bullies we were all too familiar with.
After looking at the Ref. Number, 'Dennisse' said there were two available in the inventory. As disappointing as it sounds, she came back with the WRONG dresses. How contradicting of them for shouting 'Ref. Number!' and went back with the wrong ones.
They exchanged looks and one of them mumbled that supposedly, there was a zipper in the middle of the chest. But NO ONE did anything, and the staff with the necklace went on and passed us the wrong dresses anyway!
Obviously, we told them those weren't what we asked for! Then, she said: "Now, there will only be one Small left." We tried anyway and was not satisfied with her answer.
Luckily, we bumped into Shawn/Sean (sorry if we misspelled your name), who was more than welcome to help. He got the right dresses and the size we asked for with his first try (TWO MEDIUM ones). You see how unprofessional and lazy the CLIQUE was.
Then, we went in to try the dresses on, they gave us the silent treatment. Not even direct nor greet us.
After trying them on, we went to Shawn/Sean, demanded to talk to the store manager, George. We were glad the manager hears us out. We hope the issue will be addressed and solved immediately. Because no one deserves to be treated like this.
We're fully aware that, being in the customer service industry, it gets frustrating at times. Sometimes, you have a bad day. But doesn't mean that you dismiss the customers when they are looking for help!
I'm sure there are more qualified employees than this clique and the male staff we encountered when we first came in. If you're not happy with your job, feel free to move on to something else. Why ruins other people's day with your attitude? read more
