I'm not really into monkey pants anymore as I found quite a few of their products online on some alternate realtors, a.k.a. aliexpress. However, I have had some positive experiences with one employee in particular. I believe her name is Nick. she went out of her way to help me get some monchicis I had my eye on. -2 stars for knock off inventory, I didn't expect that from a store that's so pricey. Parking is limited but there are a few lots in the area. They do not validate parking. read more

Came here during a busy Friday. As always, the store was jam-packed. So many people inside and was very crowded. Not enough space. Store too small to house little knickknacks. Anyway, just by looking at the store and items, everything was extremely expensive. I think a lot of items are way overpriced when you can get a lot of these items online. I know the tariffs are bad for business owners right now so they maybe they are tacking on their fees onto the products. If that's the case, you can just buy these things yourself online. If you don't like to wait and don't like shipping fees, buy them here if you want to pay QUADRUPLE. Very cute items and rare items though. read more

Cutest little trinket shop with everything from Sanrio Sonny angels smiskis and Sanrio! The store is a bit small so when there's a lot of people they limit the people inside, which I have a love and hate relationship for because there are super long lines but the shopping experience is def better since there's more air and space to breathe and shop around! They have a loyalty program so enter your phone number to score some points! The line goes by fairly quickly so don't be intimidated if you see a super long line!! They sell official Sonny angels and smiskis, and are reasonably priced. The monchichi keychains were so cute and I've never seen them irl!! There's so much trinkets and plushes, keychains and all the cute things in this shop! It was really hot inside and the workers were not welcoming having a full on conversation about outside matters. They did not say welcome or anything and a guy worker was blocking the entrance by the cashier. The sonny angels and smiskis are an okay price around 16.50 but there are other places in la that are cheaper. They did have a good selection of items like Monchichi and Miffy etc.. This is a very tiny shop and they sometimes limit the crowd allowed in; however, the service is quick and people usually know what they want to get. There are a lot of selections for other collectibles but they didn't have much for Sonny Angel. They also have it behind the counter and the cashier chooses for you. I know it doesn't make a difference since it's a blind box but it's fun choosing your own box. Definitely recommend it! read more

Cute store with some cute trinkets! We stopped by on Saturday and we waited outside for a few minutes until we could be let in. Its a small space so they only let a certain amount of people in at a time. Prices are reasonable and they have a variety of plushies, pins, stickers, cards, and toys. This store was very cute. They have everything from Hello Kitty to Monkeke. (Hard to find by the way) the prices were actually very good and reasonable considering the place is in the fancy part of the village. They have so much to choose from like keychains and plushies. They even had some nice calico critters and varsity jackets and Angel Blue. I really appreciate their hospitality, their organized layout and their fun music. The people that worked there were helpful and nice. The cashier did me a solid and took my payment even though they were closing out. They know how to treat their customers. Very lovely. read more

Today I came in looking for a Mokeke monster as a gift for a friend. I found a couple small ones and purchased one. On my way out I noticed they had large ones hanging up on the wall and asked if I could exchange the small one for the larger one (and pay the difference obviously) and I was told I couldn't so i asked if I could return the small one and purchase the large instead and was denied of that as well. The employee pointed at a return policy which was way high up on the wall to the right of the register completely out of view. Im not sure if thats done deliberately but it doesn't seem like a productive way to run a business. Also the prices are ridiculously expensive. read more

Ahhh... This shop is full of cute stuff! It's too bad that my luggage is full! But - when I saw Miffy (the bunny from The Netherlands), I had to get something... Haha! I had to focus and not get distracted by Totoro, My Melody, Monchhichi, etc. I just got one thing (for a gift) and left quickly! Cute little store to check out! I've always skipped past it since from the storefront it looks like it's just a store for clothes and items for little kids and toddlers, but side from some children clothes, there's so many cute things here to look at that aren't available or common to any other shop in Little Tokyo. Lots of cute plushies and accessories. Many of characters that I have never seen before, and others of classics like Moomin and Frog and Toad. There's also a dedicated corner to Pusheen merch too. There's also lots of stickers and other trinkets too. It is a bit pricey, but worth a stop to look at nonetheless. read more

This adorable shop sells specific characters such as Miffy (a fictional rabbit appearing in a series of picture books drawn and written by Dutch artist Dick Bruna) and Monchhichi (a line of Japanese stuffed monkey toys from the Sekiguchi Corporation, first released in 1974.) They also have merchandises with Sanrio, Kewpie, Peko-chan and Poko-kun, etc. characters but this is definitely a place to get Miffy and Monchhichi if you are a big fan. The quality is superb and the price is a little bit high but you get what you pay for. read more

So I hate doing this because I really loved this store but I'm so upset and had a very unpleasant experience at the end of our visit and checkout. We are huge Kewpie fans and came for a couple Kewpie dolls. Long story short, the workers wouldn't honor the prices that were shown and when I asked again after walking back in from check out about it, they would rather provide a full refund and lose out on the money and returning customers than honor the price difference. They said it was a typo and would fix it right away but failed to remedy the situation .The young lady was respectful however the man with the bad long wig was rude and for some reason felt the need to reiterate multiple times as if I didn't understand. Which I told him there was no need for that. And at the same time continued to keep the yellow chain closed on the door entrance as to make me feel like he was keeping my young daughter and I hostage until I just gave up and walked out. I'll attached the photos of the prices posted. The blue and pink 25cm dolls appear to be posted for $34 since it's clearly marked the clear were $68. They charged me $68 each for both pink and blue, along with the clear 15cm doll (smaller mind you) for $39. Am I the only one who's caught this over charge? read more
