I purchased a dress with the clear understanding and agreement that I would be receiving a new dress that would be tailored accordingly. Instead, what I received was the exact same dress that had been on display in the store. It was not new. It had visible tears, small rips, crinkling, and obvious wear. It was clearly not in new condition, despite being represented and sold as such. When I brought this to their attention, I returned the dress in good faith. Despite the product not conforming to what was promised, the shop refused to issue a refund. The entire situation felt deceptive and dishonest. There was a clear misrepresentation of the product, and the refusal to correct it only made matters worse. This experience was extremely disappointing. When purchasing something as important as a dress--especially for a special event--you expect honesty, transparency, and basic good faith in the transaction. Despite charging top dollar, the quality was extremely poor cheap materials, sloppy construction, and nothing close to what was promised. The organza shawl I paid a premium for looked low grade and poorly made, far from the quality you'd expect at that price point. The owner claimed that the organza material just didn't go well with the dress and made her own decision and made the shawl with cheap chiffon material. She never called me to discuss any of the fabric issues. On top of that, they took back the shawl with the promise of replacing it, but never sent a replacement or issued a refund and kept my money. We came here looking for a mother of the grooms dress. My mom ended up buying a "custom made dress" for $1000 (all funds due up front) they took measurements and videos of what she wanted and sent it out to be made. When my mom picked it up it was 4 sizes too big, way too long on the arm bands, and just all around terrible. They told her they can do "in house alterations" for $250 (on top of the $1k already spent for something that was supposed to be custom made) We went for the alterations hoping to salvage the dress that she's already spent a thousand dollars on, BIG MISTAKE. They sent her to another shop for the alterations, and when she picked it up it was still in rough shape. Not sharing photos as the bust area was completely inappropriate. DO NOT shop here EVER!!!! I had a custom dress made for my son's wedding. I gave them a photo of the dress that the owner said it was no problem to replicate. Was told that all they needed was 6 weeks to make a custom dress. The wedding was to take place on July 1. On April 6th I paid full price of $1000 or they wouldn't make it. One month later since I didn't hear from them I messaged the owner through instagram. She responded to call her so we can go over the details I called and left several messages. No response. Two weeks later she finally responded and said she would inform the seamstress of the changes which included beading and cut. One month later I messaged her through Instagram again saying I was worried. She said it would arrive beginning to mid June. Long story short on June 22nd I texted about the dress and she said it wasn't in yet. By this point I had enough and let her know how unacceptable the situation was. Ten minutes later she texted that the dress was in. I live one hour away and drove to the store for the fitting. The collar looked nothing like the picture, the design was totally altered and the belt was missing. None of the changes discussed in May were made. She said the belt shipped and it would be there Monday or Tuesday. Those days came and no belt. We communicated through text the week leading up to the wedding. She lied about it shipping the previous Thursday because it was now Friday and no belt. She later told me the belt was being shipped from Kosovo and there's nothing she can do. This whole time I thought the dress was being made somewhere in Los Angeles. Even though I bought a replacement dress, I decided to wear the unfinished one because I paid a lot of money for it. Three days after the wedding I received a text with a picture of the belt. I asked for a partial refund and have NOT heard from Hermz!!! Here is our story: Around the first week of January 2024, we went to the store to look for a dress for my wife for our daughter's wedding. Jennifer, the owner asked my wife what type of dress she was looking for. I should her a picture of a dress from a magazine. She said it is very easy to make. We finalized the color and she demanded to get paid the whole amount ($1780) in cash before she can start working on the address. I asked her how long would it take to get the dress and she said 6-8 weeks. We completed the cash transaction through Zelle on February 4. We were expecting the dress to be ready at the latest by first week of April. We thought that was enough for us in case the dress did not come as we expected and we need to look for an alternative. We started calling and texting Jennifer the last week of March asking about the status of the dress. Many times she did not return the call or text and when she did she always said she did not have any update when it will be ready. My wife started to Panic as the wedding date (June 8) was approaching and she did not have a dress for our daughter's wedding. Finally, on May May 16, Just 3 weeks before the wedding, Jennifer texted us that the dress has come to her store in Los Angles. WE made an appointment to go meet her and see the dress ON Saturday May 18 at noon. We drove from San Diego to get there and find out that she left the store before we arrived. My wife tried the dress she started crying because the dress was noting like what was in the picture that Jennifer said it is easy to make (see attached pictures). HERMZ is a mixed experience. If you happen to get a good sales associate you will have a great time and you will be shocked by these reviews. That was me last year. This year I went back after my previous wonderful experience and I had a terrible time. I left the store in tears. I was shocked how little they had that fit me. Last year I wore a 10 and they had some options. This year I am a 12 and there was nothing in the brand that I shop there specifically for(P&S). They tried to pressure me into purchasing a dress based off of guesswork with no option to return if the ordered dress didn't fit. The owner, Jennifer, and her staff lack all integrity and do not have an ounce of remorse for ruining so many people's special moments. I approached Jennifer to purchase seven bridesmaids dresses in April. I requested that the beading be taken off of the breast part of the dress and put on the waist so as not to appear similar to other weddings this summer. I brought my mom, sister-in-law, and cousin to the store and they were all there to witness the conversation (as two of them are bridesmaids themselves). Jennifer said this would be no problem to all of us. She charged us $380 per dress, I provided the bridesmaids measurements, and was told they would be ready in June for my August 3rd wedding. For three of the bridesmaids, I even provided the size dress they needed because they had already owned the dress in a different color. I texted Jennifer personally two days later with an updated measurement, as well as the exact changes to the dress I wanted. She replied "Got it". Fast forward over the next couple months, I reached out to Jennifer multiple times asking when the dresses would be ready because they were definitely not ready in June. All of my bridesmaids lived in different parts of the country so I had to pick them up from LA and ship them all, and of course, they would need minor alterations. The dresses came TWO WEEKS BEFORE MY WEDDING, ALL THE WRONG SIZE (even the ones I had specifically written down the sizes for), and with the WRONG BEADING. Mortified, I reach out to the store and Jennifer and I was met with gaslighting I had never experienced before - "You never said that" "This is what you asked for" "Why didn't you write down the dress changes on the invoice" (as if it's the customer's responsibility to write down notes on a business invoice). Not a single apology. No offer to refund. No offer to pay for alterations since every girls dress was sizes too big. My family was standing right next to me when Jennifer was confirming details and lying to our faces about what we can expect from her and her business. The owner, Jennifer, personally helped me pick out a couple of dresses for my cousins wedding, and even helped me get the dress on (which wasn't easy considering the back-part was a corset that needed to be tied/fitted). Very dismissive behavior from the employee. I walked in today looking for a short (tea length) dress for my brother's engagement party. The employee came up to me, didn't ask any questions or really allowed me to explain what type of dress or event it was for, she pointed at a rack and walked away. That was it. The dress didn't have the back lever that you attach after closing the zipper, parts of the bead work were still messed up, and it arrived on a hanger, probably because she didn't want to show up with the dress in the dry cleaning bag. I had to take the dress, because the wedding I need it for is in 3 days.
