    Overpriced card

Cool shop but they sure love to lowball the treasures you bring in and then turn around and sell them for about 7-8x what they paid you for it lol the one old lady there always has a bitchy look too haha but everyone else is nice and cool they just tell you that your item isn't worth much but they'll take it off your hands and then try and sell it for an insane price but I though it "wasn't worth too much" lmao GRAND SLAM SPORTS CARDS IS WAY BETTER IN NAMPA AND ALSO ROSS CARDS IN MERIDIAN IS A GREAT OPTION AND BOISE CARD SHOP TOO. DONT GET SCAMMED BY THESE RETRO POSERS

High quality GB Pocket. My son loves retro tech and retro games. Where better to go than Retro World!

Games are overpriced. Card vendor in the back is a complete joke when it comes to buying cards.

8-Bitplus An Honest Review: A Collector's Perspective from a Retired ADA Worker; 37EFairviewAve,…read moreMeridian, ID83642 When I first stepped into the level storefront of 8-Bitplus, I was greeted not only by the scent of polished plastic and faint nostalgia but also by a deliberate commitment to accessibility that immediately set the tone for my visit. As a longtime collector and a retired worker who has spent decades advocating for ADA compliant spaces, I entered the shop with two PlayStation2 discs; (Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance and Rumble Racing) and a PlayStation1 title, (Megaman Legends), in need of resurfacing. My mobility related disability made me especially attentive to the shop's layout, lighting, and staff responsiveness. What I encountered surpassed every expectation: a barrier free environment, knowledgeable and courteous service, a thoughtfully curated retro gaming inventory, and a customer first philosophy that translates into concrete benefits for collectors of all experience levels. 8-Bitplus merits recommendation to anyone; whether a novice explorer or a seasoned aficionado searching for quality video game merchandise in the Treasure Valley. The first impression of 8-Bitplus is one of order and openness. Inside, the flooring is smooth, low pile carpet, and the aisles are spaced at least 36inches apart, providing ample clearance for a variety of mobility aids without forcing patrons into tight turns. Shelving units are mounted at varying heights, ensuring that both seated and standing customers can reach merchandise comfortably. Should a game sit beyond a visitor's reach, staff members promptly assist, retrieving the item without hesitation. Lighting is bright yet diffused, reducing glare on game cases and making it easier to read labels; a subtle but meaningful consideration for visitors with visual sensitivities. Ambient noise is kept low; lowered creating a calm environment conducive to focused browsing. These design choices are not merely accommodations; they reflect a deliberate adherence to universal design principles. By removing physical barriers, 8-Bitplus invites a broader segment of the community; seniors, families with strollers, individuals with disabilities, and anyone who values ease of movement to engage with the store's offerings without inconvenience or embarrassment. Upon entering, I was greeted by an employee whose demeanor combined professionalism with genuine enthusiasm for retro gaming. Although I failed to remember his name (for which I apologize), his proficiency was evident immediately. He listened attentively as I explained my need to have two PlayStation 2 discs and one PlayStation1 game resurfaced, asked clarifying questions about the nature of the surface damage, and then proceeded to set up the resurfacing workstation without delay. What distinguished his approach was the balance between efficiency and personal attention. While he attended to my request, he simultaneously welcomed subsequent customers, addressing each inquiry individually rather than treating the flow of patrons as a queue to be rushed through. This ability to multitask without sacrificing the quality of interaction speaks to a well trained staff that values each visitor's experience as much as the transaction itself. His knowledge extended beyond the mechanics of disc resurfacing. When I mentioned my ongoing quest for the Mega Man Legends series; loose, complete in box (CIB), sealed, and graded variants he expressed genuine admiration for my dedication to collecting Mega Man Legends, Mega Man Legends 2, and The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Likewise, when my roommate noted that his copy of Final Fantasy X needed resurfacing, the employee confirmed the disc's condition, performed the service, and then pointed out a few minor flaws, assuring us that they would not affect playability and offering a free second pass if any issues persisted. Such expertise is increasingly rare in an era where many large scale retailers rely on scripted responses and automated inventory systems. At 8-Bitplus, the human element remains central, fostering trust and encouraging repeat visits. I found myself wishing I could have lingered all day to discuss retro games, consoles, and the merits of various titles while observing the easy camaraderie among other customers; a testament to the shop's welcoming atmosphere. The core service that brought me to the store; disc resurfacing was performed with noticeable care. the pricing is fair for the market, and you can't beat $20.00 for resurfacing 4 games either. I will be coming back for my video-gaming needs 20 out of 20 stars if that can ever happen.

I NEVER come here. The gal there talks me into some membership after she insists it's free and will not auto renew and charge me. I walk out and it wasn't 10 minutes later I get an email she signed me up for auto renew and I will be charged in 3 months... I call and she tells me she can take care of that in store. I take a couple weeks but finally make it back in there to cancel and of course they tell me they can't cancel it in store and I have to call their customer support number. Get frustrating that I had to call some number and deal with people who could barely speak English because this girl lied to me and did exactly what she said she wouldn't do. Will NEVER return. Exactly why I'll just go to Amazon from now on....

BEWARE: ALL SALES ARE FINAL! IF you buy anything here for your kids for Christmas or any other…read morereason, note that you will NOT be able to return OR exchange OR get store credit. My son purchased a $45 headset with his own cash. Took it home, opened the box, tried them on, and decided that he wanted something more expensive. Brought them back the next day (Brand new in the box) to exchange for the $100 set and the answer was "NOPE". ALL SALES ARE FINAL! No credit, no exchange, no nothing! They stated that if the tape wasn't peeled from the box, maybe they could take back but highly unlikely. Mind you we just spent $600 on a PS5 here 2 weeks ago (Which I now regret) Sad to say, I try to support local brick and mortar stores, but when I can buy online for the same price and it comes to my door the next day and there is no question on returns....the decision is easy. WONT BE SHOPPING HERE AGAIN!
