Our server comes right away, drops two empty glasses (for water) and menus and immediately asks if we are ready. Nope, you just gave me the menu right now, I am not ready. She leaves and never comes back. She forgot about us. She apologized but it never got better. It was half an hour before we got our pints. Our appetizer came 15 min after this and our food came in another 30 min. It took an hour and 15 minutes to get a burger and chicken. Thankfully, the food was good. Oh, and those empty glasses for water, stayed empty until they finally remembered to bring us water, about 1 hour in. And before you ask, yes, I hailed other servers and asked for the water and the status of our meals. They seemed annoyed they had to pick up her slack and maybe kind of took it out on us by doing things for their tables first before ours, which I understand but still kind of sucks. They have an acoustic night on Thursdays too, I've neither attended nor played, but when walking past it's sounded quite decent (I guess these things are not really in their control so YMMV).

And for the mains the 2 kids were served last. Generally this isn't a good idea, as kids can get rather cranky if not fed, but thankfully the kids this time round were pretty good, nibbling other people's food until their actual meals came out. Overall the place is pretty good, price was very decent and the service was rather pleasant. I would like to come back one more time, not on a Sunday, to see what they are like. Ox Row Inn is located conveniently in the main central square area, so we also got to see cute bits of the town on our walk there. It was cozy and inviting inside, very "ye olde pub" feeling. We each got a drink and found a table without a reserved sign on it (they had pub trivia starting about an hour and a half after our arrival, but almost all tables were empty but reserved...I am still wrapping my head around the reservation thing at pubs!) and settled in to enjoy our drinks. A cider for my Fella, and a spritzy cocktail for me. Both lovely. We considered staying for trivia, but were just too tired. I started finding myself annoyed at most pubs and restaurants we went to where the mens toilets were on the ground floor, but the womens were up or down a flight of stairs or more. And the womens toilets here are upstairs and well away from the main area. It was so empty upstairs, I almost thought I was in the wrong place, too. We kept getting strange looks from another patron which made us speed up finishing our drinks and leaving. Despite being Americans, we were not being loud or doing anything other than chatting having a drink, but it was really strange and made us a bit uncomfortable.
