I discovered this place through Instagram only two weeks ago and was fortunate to have been able to visit on the way home. It was easy enough to find with GPS. They are located on Post Road E in Westport, CT where Maple Ave N and Maple Ave S meets. There's a few parking spaces at the front and enough spaces in the back with entrances on both sides and the front having handicap access. For awareness, the rear entrance has a few steps up. Orders can be made with staff at the counter and if busy, there is a self-ordering kiosk at the front of the cafe. Pick-up orders can also be made through their website, DoorDash, UberEats and Postmates with delivery options. I tried the Tiramisu Latte and it tasted every bit like tiramisu. The biscuit was a nice touch to the drink providing you a snack for dipping as a bonus! I loved that! I also tried the Crème Brûlée and Ube Mochi donuts which were gone in an instant. Savoring those were impossible. I should've taken my time. Lol. Friends tried a few different choices that I would love to try for myself next time. There were more than a few seating areas that are in groups of 2 along the wall perfect for intimate gatherings. The store is tidy and beautifully decorated with lights and small touches of Asian characteristics. The prices were a little higher than average however I don't mind paying the cost for quality goods. Quality products mean quality ingredients, means more cost. I'd ask myself, do I want average and it tasting like meh.. or do I want to pay a little more for a delicious treat. It's definitely the latter. Bring on great quality! Thank you for a wonderful treat Retreat Sweets!

    Strawberry mochi donut and hazelnut

Was really excited to come try this new place! We got an iced matcha, a cafe latte, and a strawberry donut and hazelnut donut. The matcha was freshly whisked, and although Im not sure if it came sweetened, it had a natural sweetness to it. I would probably add a little more sweetener though! The cafe latte was great! The donuts were very fresh, moist, and chewy. Loved the strawberry flavor! Definitely would come back to try some of their boba drinks too. Service was quick at the counter and there's a few tables inside for seating. There's parking in the back of the building too!

Tiramisu lattes have made their way to CT! Retreat Sweets is definitely doing them right. We really enjoyed the generous layer of mascarpone on top, and whether you order the regular or the matcha, I think you'll be impressed! They also had a ton of mochi donut flavors to choose from. The cafe was bright and inviting, and the staff were all friendly. Great addition to Westport!

Vietnamese iced coffee with a lot of ice

We have been looking in the window at Retreat Sweets for quite a while, waiting for it to open. So, we were glad to see the lights on, people behind the counter and donuts filling the racks. We decided to order a mix of flavors to share and sample. The ones we chose were the crème brulee, dubai chocolate pistachio, passion fruit, samoa and mango. We enjoyed them all although they were a little subtle compared to other mochi donuts we have tried. We also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee. That was also good but came with a ton of ice. There are a lot of reasons I prefer not having a cup brimming with ice. One - you don't get as much coffee for your buck (may be the purpose), two - it dilutes the coffee really quickly and three - if you ever drink it without the straw, all the ice cubes come banging into your face and, well, maybe that's only me but it is not a pretty sight or an efficient was to enjoy a beverage. Next time I will remember to ask them to limit the ice. The people behind the counter were very nice and patient as we chose our flavors. Three of the donuts went into a box and then the other two each had their own paper bag. I would have preferred those two also go in a box as they would have been easier to carry that way. Maybe they have a steadfast rule of "no three donut order - no box". Who knows. But, next time, I will ask for a box. The parking at this center can be a real pain unless you realize that there is a lot more of it in back. There are even entries to the stores from the back so you don't have to walk around. Given the tightness of the spaces and the weird angles on to the Post Road, I would park in back every time.

An exciting new addition to Westport!!! I love mochi donuts so I had to go for their grand opening last week! My favorite flavor was the cookies and cream but they bring in specials for new flavors often! You can also order Korean corn dogs! I did the potato with cheese and hot dog and it was fantastic! I also got the Thai tea! You can order at the counter or use their ordering tablet for an easy no contact ordering process! It's a cute little shop with minimal seating but it's very clean and the staff is very friendly.

Ube, cookies and cream, green tea, salted caramel chocolate, passionfruit

A little slow but it will take some time to get used to the flow. So glad to have some Asian inspired treats near my home. I ordered using kiosks since I'm the type to take a long time to choose my items. The kiosk has pictures and customization. I ordered the lychee juice no tea with strawberry boba for my daughter, mango yum for myself and my husband ordered passion fruit green tea. Everything was good. Mango yum was delicious- i could do without the pomelo fruit pieces(taste similar to grapefruit). My husband didn't mind it. We ordered 6 mochi donuts- they are bigger than I'm used to. They are also more chewy but it's still good to me. Everyone liked the passionfruit mochi. The ube mochi was pretty good too. (You should give out samples of flavors that most westerners aren't used to seeing). We liked the salted caramel chocolate donut. Green tea matcha was good. It's sticky rice so it feels lighter than the cake-like donuts. We cannot wait to come back and try the latte. The tiramisu latte sounds good and so does the Vietnamese iced latte. See you soon.

First time visiting and won't be the lasts. When we first walk-in, we can feel a very good welcoming. The shop owner was there and he seems genuinely kind and offer a lot of help same as the staff. The mochi donuts were really good. It's not too sweet. The dough is soft and chewy as it should be. I ordered Taro twist drink, it was refreshing. My friend ordered brown sugar milk tea boba and its was a bit too sweet for her, the shop owner offer to made her a new drink and it was just right. The inside store is very calming. Please give this place a try. Support local business. I will be back!

Don't expect Mister Donut but it's not bad. Soft, chewy and lighter than American style donuts. They just open so need to work out some kinks. Will try again for other items.

    Coffee!

I came in a few days ago and ordered matcha, ube, and churro donuts. I have to say they were all delicious. My favorite was the churro one, so soft and chewy. I also got the Vietnamese coffee. I'm Vietnamese and grew up in the restaurant business so I was skeptical of how their Vietnamese coffee was. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It had a strong flavor, but also had that sweetness from condensed milk. I understand how hard it is to open a restaurant - there's bound to be hiccups, especially in the beginning when it's hard to gauge traffic. Service may be a little slow but the quality of both service and food is there.

10/10 would recommend!! This new mochi donut shop has quickly become my new favorite spot in town. I got a 12 count box to try a bunch of flavors. The stand outs for me were crème brûlée (torched to a perfect crisp on the outside but still chewy on the inside) matcha (classic green tea earthy richness flavor) and yakult (refreshing with a citrus tang). If you like sweet & fruity, go for passionfruit or strawberry. If you like less sweet flavors, go for original and churro. I'll definitely be back to try their other products!

Tiramisu latte was not worth it. I didn't think it was good at all. Coffee butter latte was better though.

My last review was a bit harsh, but honest. (food has always been great. Service wasn't up to that…read morestandard ). Props to Tim for correcting it!! I got served by Tamar yesterday and today again! This place is busy because the baked goods are exceptional and the food looks great too (haven't had any yet, I'm a bakery guy)! But Tamar was efficient yet nonetheless, cheerful, chatty, and helpful! I give this place five stars. The baked goods are as good as it gets and the service is too! I particularly recommend the cinnamon and sugar monkey bread, chocolate chip, cookies, and blueberry coffee, crumb cake! The last one sounded kind of odd to me, but it really really works!! Again, props to you, Tim!!! and many thanks to you Tamar!!

First visit here, although I have passed it by numerous times on the Post Rd in Norwalk. I came to…read moretry the "Parisian" sandwich with Jambon de Paris (specific ham from Paris France). Small parking lot shared with multiple other businesses, but was able to find a spot. I was greeted seconds after entering, asking what I wanted, but as this was my first time here I wanted time to look around. Other than a party of 4 who were seated inside, no other customers were around. I had no idea they made pizza, and I took a suggested sample to try. Outstanding. Still looking and deciding, I was again asked if I was ready. I did know I wanted a sourdough baguette. OK. Packed. I asked about the Parisian sandwich (all the sandwiches are pre made and disayed in the case), to be sure Jambon de Paris was used. The staff had NO clue what I was talking about, and rudely proclaimed "it's ham". Yes, I am aware its ham, but if it is not Jambon de Paris I want to know so I can chose something else. Luckily, the manager or owner overheard and confirmed it was Jambon de Paris. Staff began ringing my items when I indicated that I still wanted 2 more items. Sigh and eyeroll. There was no one else in line or waiting to order. All items were expensive and no receipt was provided which I did not realize till I got home. The sandwich was good, but needed more Jambon de Paris. The tarragon mustard gave a nice flavor, while the butter provided a smooth texture to compliment the crunchiness of the bread. The sourdough bread and the filled croissants were both delicious, but also quite pricey. Sandwiches are not made or order, there is no pricing on many of the items that I could see, this is a location with lots of traffic and not much parking. On top of all of that, feeling rushed and completely disrespected as a paying customer doesn't make me want to return or recommend. You only get one chance to make a good first impression.
