I also had to make arrangements for my other son to be picked up from camp at 3:00, so the delay created additional stress and scheduling issues. Patients' time--especially families with young children--should be treated with more consideration.

I had difficulty seeing anything up close with the contacts I wore that were based on her prescription. Reading books, checking my watch, or reading on my phone was impossible due to the blurriness. It bothered me for 2 years, and I was very frustrated with the issue. I asked her to adjust the prescription several times. She made slight adjustments, which were not helpful. She finally told me she could do no more, or I would have trouble seeing things far away. She also told me that it was normal to have blurry vision while wearing contacts when looking at things close up because contacts are different than glasses. This was incorrect information! I wasn't sure what the problem was, but I figured it was my eyes. Eventually, due to the discomfort, I gave up wearing contacts unless it was absolutely necessary. The issue was finally resolved when I took a trip to Taiwan and consulted an optometrist there who told me that the prescription Dr. Dalporto gave me was entirely wrong and too strong. They said that she should not have simply given me a prescription based on whatever the vision test machine determined. Every prescription needs to be adjusted based on each individual's lifestyle and habits so that anything--both close up and at a distance--can be seen clearly and comfortably. I received a new prescription, and when I tried the new contacts, I immediately noticed a huge difference. They were so comfortable, and I had no trouble seeing or reading things on a computer, on my phone, or close up. The problem I had with blurriness that had been bothering me for years was finally resolved! Now I can wear contacts again--every day, all day. I went back to Dr. Dalporto and asked her to adjust the prescription on file based on the new prescription. She simply copied the numbers directly from the Taiwanese prescription and checked my vision. It was 20/20, of course. Had she actively tried her best to help me achieve the most comfortable and accurate prescription years ago, I would not have suffered so much with blurry vision when trying to see things close up! When I complained, the office manager was cold and impatient and didn't apologize for all the trouble I had been through. Instead, she asked me, "Is there anything else?" At this point, I was so fed up with this mess and so shocked at the customer service I received that I decided to change optometrists completely for my own vision care. One of the fundamental jobs of an optometrist is to give correct, comfortable contact lens prescriptions to patients. If they fail to provide an accurate prescription, it raises serious doubts about their professional competence. This experience proved to me that Dr. Dalporto doesn't care about her patients' vision, nor does she try her best to solve the vision issues they have. Instead, she is very passive, only does what she is asked to do (but poorly), and performs vision tests that a robot could do. In a word, she is incompetent. Don't go to Dr. Dalporto. She is totally unprofessional and won't give you a correct prescription!

My experience was the polar opposite of the negative posts. The office is incredibly organized. I noticed a large, coordinated team at the front desk where some may have been brought in from other locations to ensure everything runs smoothly. It's obvious they've stepped up their service and fixed most of the issue from the past. They have high end eye testing machines that test everything about your eye to assist in selecting a handful of lenses with the final pick by the doctor. Dr. Spektor has been absolutely terrific. There are many doctors in the office that do great work as well. One tip for future patients: come prepared! This office is thorough. You'll work with a specialist for upfront testing to provide the doctor with the best data possible. I think some past reviewers weren't prepared for that level of detail, but if you do your part and provide your background info, the care is top-notch. Come in with a handful of quality questions. Please note that you may need to wait since there are many people that do to the office. You will see the doctors are working hard and not just waiting around. I am highly satisfied with my results so far. If you want a professional, clean, and quality care, ignore the old noise and book an appointment here!

The Federal Trade Commission's 2024 'Eyeglass Rule', makes charging a fee for release of patient prescription ILLEGAL. I intend to report them to the FTC for being in violation. And unlike many doctors, if u have a problem with your vision or scratch your eye, her staff will do their best to make room for her to see you on short notice. I had been to her many times bc of rubbing my eyes in my sleep augh. When Dr. Wyse began her new practice, it took me a while to find her (too long to explain in this review) and at that time, I was sure I had a serious problem. I called and explained I was and old patient but new to this practice and had not known she moved. Her incredible staff found me from her past information (I had moved) and found time to see me within 24 hours, and she diagnosed my detached retina and got me to a specialist in time for immediate care. Basically she saved my eye. Some people have complained about a long wait time. Please understand, if you are going to the very best, you should expect a long wait. Your eye will need to be dilated. You may also be tested for range of vision or blind spots, and based on your description of your problem, her office may decide to do this using equipment beyond someone just moving their finger around. This all takes time, even if you are the only person in the office. What else, when I was there last week, the staff did an incredible job with a busy practice, (made busier by end if year insurance rush) they are thorough and they care. Dr. Wyse herself is the kindest, most knowledgeable and experienced ophthalmologist I have been to and I have experienced the other end of the spectrum too. Last but not least, the office is clean and well maintained. There is current reading material. Have you ever been to an exam elsewhere, where you worried that you may be putting your chin on an unwiped chin or forehead rest? Or the magazines are a year old? That doesn't happen here. In sum, set aside time for your visit because your eyes will most likely be dilated. Bring headphones for an audiobook or podcast and let the staff know u will be relaxing that way. Bring sunglasses if u r driving home on a sunny day w dilated eyes. And know you are in good hands.
